Sadly, the colours GW has out now really aren't as good as the ones from when scumofsociety and I first started(Rogue Trader baby, yeah!).

Ah so true, I hope my collection of vintage paints lasts because I'm not going to be able to replace a lot of them. I can't believe they got rid of moody blue...

If I had any camera aside from the crap one on my phone I'd show off my Eldar, but they're not much cop, I'm not the best modeller. I'll see if I can root out any photos of my mate's Tau, he's done some awesome stuff with his Kroot (using ork parts, bits from dinosaur toys and plenty of Green Stuff). As it stands, my Eldar are a bit dusty at the moment, and I've still got some Warp Spiders that need painting.

Heh, I'm still waiting for my buddy to say as to wether or not I'm painting the rest of his Necrons. For now, I'm working on a few of his Plague Marines.

Wow! People are still posting in this thread without me to prod them. Such dedication, it brings a tear to my eye.

I'm still not back home but my next project is going to be an old orc warrior from 1985 (IIRC), back when GW crafted every mini with love and affection. This guy is awesome, I'll post a piccy of him unpainted when I get back tomorrow.

Really? I've not seen the MoonPenguins, do you have the stats?

Also, I've just finished reading the second part of 'Inquisition War'.
I read part one 'Inquisitor' (or 'Draco' as it's called now) almost 20 years ago and on re-reading it wasn't as good as I remembered. However I did notice some small alterations to fit with the current 40K universe and was wondering if there were more significant alterations than I realised that account for it being not as good as I remembered it. Can anyone else enlighten me?

Part 2 on the other hand was very good and I was glad to see the return of Alexandro D'Arquebus from 'Space Marine'. Seems it was written in 1994, just after I quite GW stuff. It refers to some Dreadnaught names that were out of date even by then, but it also mentions my beloved Gothic Batleships as well as Ironclads and cobras. There might have been other refrences to their size but Ian Watson puts the size of the combat cathedrals at 1km...so they must have been almost 12km long. Anyway, the upshot of this rambling is that I have decided to start on a gothic battleship instaed of the orc. Expect it to be posted soon.

New mini. I'm not too pleased with this one, I was pretty wasted while doing the basecoat and inking and tried to fix it while I was still mashed so as a result there are a lot of messy bits if you look up close. As this is also the first one I've painted I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do the colourshceme and parts of it don't quite work IMO. Finally the transfer doesn't show up too well on the dark body, I'll have to go over it with paint.
