I love the iron clad Such a cool design on that particular ship.

I actually like it with the black wash - doesn't give the "so glossy my eyes bleed" feel.

Alright, I managed to get a few pictures with a phone I borrowed from a friend. They're pretty blurry , but one can still spy SOME details here and there. The extreme highlights are barely, if at all, visible.

Bleached bone coloured things around his legs are supposed to be puttees similar to that of the Krieg guardsmen, but the lines blurred together.

His sword is a bit bent, not much I can do about that unfortunately. However as usual looking at the model real close up reveals I need to do more work. I think his plume needs more shading on the white bits and more highlighting on the red.

Again I think the black wash makes the model too dark. I really should stop using it. I also don't like the highlights on the weapon where it's fixed to the hull, I'll do something different next time.

I have to say I only really like the plain white one, the others don't look very good. At a distance they aren't bad, but close up they look pretty poor, especially the gold one, the white and gold just dont mix well, it isn't a great colourscheme. Perhaps I should have given that one another wash. Well, I have learn't my lesson now, my other squadron of firestorms are already done but when I paint my Sword squadrons I'm going to stick to the simple colourschemes, one main colour for the body with decent shading and highlight but lay off the gilt edges.

Funny looking thing isn't it? Noticed a stray bit of Baal red on the drillbit after I took this pic, it's fixed but I'm not going to bother taking another photo, it took me long enough to get a decent looking snap in the light I've got as it is.

I managed to pick up a virus the other day. I think I got rid of it, but then internet explorer wouldn't connect to the internet and then my PC's monitor wouldn't turn on the 1st time you booted up the PC, then a day or so later it stopped working entirely, so now I've been lent my mates 10 year old laptop to go on the internet. I wiped it and installed my copy of windows XP over the top but it's asking for verification, anyone know if this might cause me any trouble on my main PC if I verify Windows on this one?

Thanks for posting. A lot of people find it easier to at least base coat miniatures before assembly, I for one find painting assembled models a bit of a pig.

Also:

GW's new satin varnish sucks, it changes the finish of the model and goes opaque too easily. See what it's done to the gold bits on the front of the ship? Bastards.

I don't think I did

I posted my pictures and got told the eyes were yellow. i've fixed that now.

I'm thinking of buying a Dreadnought and greenstuffing it to nurgleness. Any tips?
