I don't think I did

I posted my pictures and got told the eyes were yellow. i've fixed that now.

I'm thinking of buying a Dreadnought and greenstuffing it to nurgleness. Any tips?
My mistake, must have got mixed up with that.

Go to forge world: Warhammer 40K, Chaos, Dreadnoughts.
Death guard dreadnought is £26, thats less than a standard space marine dread. [EDIT: oops, my mistake, that's just for the body, gotta buy the arms seperate, same as standard nurgle dread]
Nurgle dread main body is £25, left and right arms £7 each.

[EDIT: Since it'll be about £15 cheaper greenstuffing looks like the better option]

Or if you really had your heart set on greenstuffing it then cover all the flat surfaces in a thin layer of greenstuff then make little sores and spots in it, cut open bits to look like infected wounds...basically copy the look of the forge world dreads by using greenstuff as a canvas rather than trying to make individual bits to stick on to the main surface.

Me again huh? Well, here's some more I painted this week:

I like the old undead models, all the old bits of rusted armour and rottingscraps of clothes make for some individual detailed rank and file models. Yes, the first guy should have a shield, I'm very lazy when it comes to things like that.

Didn't fit together too well, as you can see from the circles on the side of the hull.

I like this guy, came out quite well I think

Been quite a while since I've had a chance to do any work on my chaos marines, and with the release of 8th edition warhammer, my gaming group is scrambling to build an army. I've (unsurprisingly) gone with Warriors of Chaos, so here's a few pics of my current project:

Chaos Lord
I'm thinking of replacing the weapon in his right hand with a shield, and the head of the axe with a large one from the beastman gors frame. Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Gamesday Sorcerer and Champion

Chaos Knights

Chaos Warshrine
I've only just started work on this, but I think the general idea comes through alright. There'll be a large icon covered in sacrifices and tributes to the gods in the back of the chariot (which I've also reversed), and the champion model from the chosen warriors will be standing in front of it

Coming soon: 1st half of my Warriors unit, my Forsaken unit built from old chaos warriors and CSM possessed bits and even some painted stuff! Might try to gather all of my half-painted and half-assembled Chaos Space Marine army on a table and take a few snaps of it.

Good stuff, I like how you convert a lot of your stuff to make it more individual, can't wait to see them painted.

I have been painting a bunch of cruisers for BFG

Armageddon class battlecruiser: Belatu Dunom

Farseer freehand on a Wraithlord crotchrag. Otherwise known as a tabard, but I prefer my version.

This is about 1cm (2/5 inch) across at its widest point.

I must say, that is just incredible.
Is it for golden demon or just because you could?

That one is just because I could. My entry to Golden Demon next year is going to be a Drop-pod with a story-panel painted on each door. At the moment, my idea is to paint the story of Saint Sabbat (see the Daniverse, in particular Gaunt's Ghosts) with the first panel being her vision of the EMPRAH! The second would be her rallying the imperials to her crusade. The third, her Nine Holy Wounds. The fourth, her internment and the fifth, her resurrection.

I'm likely to use a fair number of christian reference pictures for this too. It's the easiest thing to do.

Wow, someone else has posted something. I'm amazed. Nicely done Labyrinth and thanks for posting.

I've nearly finished an old eldar wraithship from space fleet but it's not quite ready yet, so I'm posting another Rogue Trader era guardsman and a gothic cruiser from BFG that I finished painting last week.

It's finished but it's kinda scrappy. I was lazy and drybrushed bleached bone and regal blue onto a black undercoat instead of basecoating, shading and highlighting properly. It looked good to start with but I brushed the bone 1st, which was a mistake because drybrushing the blue without going over the bone wasn't going to happen so I had to do more layers to cover up the mistakes and then that made the BB cover up the detail and fill in bits that had been nicely showing the undercoat so the nice effect I got from drybrushing was ruined. Balls.

So next time I'll do the blue 1st. I haver another one of these so I have another chance. I also have the original painting guide which I might try as well, but drybrushing is quicker and if you don't make a mess of it like i did this time it looks great on models like this.

and I forgot to paint over the base of the mast...fixed now but not taking another picture.

Also: POST!! DAMN YOU, POST!!! I know there's loads of 40K players out there, show us your miniatures.

That sounds incredibly epic. I'm extremely envious of your skill. I'm a little too heavy handed
with the brush for all that fine detail stuff xD

Thin your paints and use the smallest brush you can find in an art shop. None of the brushes I use are actually from Games Workshop.

In honor of the new Dark eldar army that is coming out I shall post my pictures, well that and I now have a camera to use. I warn you I am not good at the painting thing even though I enjoy it.

Ravager

Raider

Reaver Jet Bikes

Hellions

Warriors

Incubi

Warp Beast

Wych Elf

Army Standard

Black Guard

War Hydra

Cannoness

Celestian

Penitent Engine

Commissar (with no eyes painted)

Test Eldar

LOTR Easterling

BFG Emperor Class Battleship

I hope you enjoyed looking at my work, it is table top quality at best. It is also easy to tell which models are the older work.

Dark Eldar? Dark...Eldar? ... Nope, never heard of em, sorry.

*cough* Apologies, as an old Rogue Trader player I have a tendency to ignore the races that have been introduced since they brought out 2nd edition. I mean for fucks sake what were they... *slap, slap, slap* ...OK, right, the mini's, thanks for posting. Those are perfectly good basecoats, the only difference between models like those and the more display worthy stuff is a bit of shade and highlight. It doesn't take much. If your lazy a wash and then a little dab of the original colour mixed followed by a smaller dab of that mixed with a lighter shade or white can really make a difference, certainly and tabletop range if not close up.

Also...femissar is a comparatively rare one IIRC hang on to that...and by the dark gods, in my day witch elves went into battle in chainmail like serious warriors, not wearing a fucking bikini like a bunch of eye candy for troops...grumble, moan, complain etc

My first ever finished model as I've just been introduced to Warhammer (and bought an entire High Elf army by my loving boyfriend). It's alright for never having painted a miniature before, I think!

Yes she is a rarer models, and as you can see in need of help. I am trying to go through my armies and fix some earlier mistakes I made on them. But after that I may get to shading/highlighting. Only 3000 points of dark elves to update then I can move on to my older dark eldar!

I swear as soon as I call an army good and start another I get better and have to go repaint the whole damn army.

The dark god likes fashion, so he changed up the dress code. Plus with the new ogle rule enemy humanoids stop to stare at the giggle it adds +2 to your save.

Ok I thought it best to not attach your mini to my above rant, so none of my anger got misdirected. Now I shall work in points:
1. This is your first mini????? I don't want to belive it you make mine look bad and this is your first? o_O

2. My only negitive is for me there seems to be too much metalic color, this may just be a personal problem. But I feel that too much metal takes away from your purple. Maybe if you worked some black/brown or other dark color into the hilt of the sword or boots the purple jump out a little more.

3. I am a dark elf, a true elf , you are the false kin!

4. I really want to see more work from you!

5. How did you paint the gems, I wish I could paint gems.

Technique. It's always about learning the right technique for the thing you are painting. For gems you start with black. Then paint over in a dark version of the final colour, leaving about 1/4 of the top black with a curve to fit the fact that it's round. Then a brighter version from the base of the gem to about 1/2 way up, again curved, then base to 1/4 with a brighter colour then finallly a little curved highlight and then a white dot in the top of the gem where you left it black.

I'm not quite sure of the names these days but;
E.g.
Chaos black---> mechrite red or scab red ---> blood red ---> blood angel orange ---> hobgob highlight.

Also, I'm back off hols now and I'm going to finish off a tyrant battleship before proceeding to paint an old WFB empire soldier with a greatsword in Nordland colours.

After that I feel like painting a marine, I haven't done one of them for a bit. I think a RT era beaky calls...

Moar!

Another Tyrant battleship, plus my Space fleet Imperial Navy chasing a couple of Xeno raiders, an old Fantasy Nordland state soldier and My BFG fleet with it's new cruisers.

Not very happy with this one, I handled it too much during painting so a lot of the drybrushing came off so I had to paint a lot of it again which doesn't look as good.

I'm pleased with this one. There are a couple of minor problems but overall I think this one came out very well. I like the model too although in style it is definitely 'new' warhammer as opposed to the older stuff that was rougher but more individual.

The flash makes this one look a bit odd, I should take my pics in natural light.
