So how do people snipe? I don't strafe when I snipe and what if I take 5 seconds to line up a shot? It's an interesting idea, I guess it's a fun game mode but I can see way too many people playing this mode and then sniping is just ruined.

I am AGAINST this, the concept is good, but 3 seconds is WAY too short.

It should be 10 seconds with a normal weapon, 15 seconds with a sniper rifle.

Make it unattractive to camp. Boom, problem solved. We're not watching "Speed" here.

By the way, what keeps Mr. Camper from just jiggling the stick a bit? Engine says "Ok you're off the hook" Victim says "He was, like, totally camping!!11 QQ"

Wait, I know another solution to a different problem: Make it so that you can't shoot with a sniper rifle if you haven't been in scope mode for 3 seconds. We wouldn't want quickscoping in the game.

Banning gameplay elements that are possible by putting an arbitrary limit on the usage defies any and all need for intelligent game design.

I love this idea. Would only turn it off if I wanted to set up a sniper fight.

I'm glad to see that it's not mandatory. People who can't take out campers are people who refuse to learn new strategy.
How bout:
Campers Bitching around are people that refuse to learn a new strategy?
? only if people who camp only camp and do nothing the whole game, which would be stupid, because their hiding spots would get predictable.

Also, running and gunning - not much better. Seriously, no one likes campers and stuff, but since you have to be constantly moving around, it will be a hectic non-skillfull mess.
Really? So every twitch-based shooter like Unreal Tournament and Quake are non-skillfull?
Well, from what I know, GoldenEye is a bit of a different game with weaponry unlike Quake or UT. That makes it different and much less prone to R&G. Just my guess.

This just seems like something to give the mindless "run and gun" fanboys something to cheer about. How dare someone not constantly be running! How dare they stop to aim! How dare a sniper DO WHAT SNIPERS DO!

Seriously; it's a neat idea to prevent bullshit, but it's so poorly executed that it's just not worth the time.

It's a great idea but its flaw have already been pointed out. But i must say kudos the devs for trying something new.

If you stand still for only 3 seconds?! That's a horrible idea!
What if you simply stop moving because someone has come into the room to talk to you for 5 seconds? What if you're trying to take a highly difficult sniper shot? Standing still for 3 seconds is most certainly not necessarily for camping. Fantastic idea, terrible execution. I think this will get nerfed or removed quite soon.
Or, you know, you could just not play with that mode turned on? Like "Big Heads" and "Slappers Only" - the damn thing is an optional game mode XD
Already been disputed, discussed and resolved, slick.

someone has to do it, ok, I'll do it.

I will not deny, it is an annoying strategy however like any strategy it has draw backs and most people are too stupid to exploit them.
like what, what can you exploit to get a camper

nothing makes me quit a counterstrike server quicker then if they have an anti-camping mod... is really stupid.

The weapons, the maps, character movement speed and health, it should all be set up in such a manner as to discourage camping, if that's something you don't want in your game. Valve does these things best, they really put themselves in the position of a gamer who is trying to have as much fun as possible, which for most people means getting lots of kills and not dying much, i.e. being succesful at the game.
