You may not have heard about them... but there was Caoz, Plan9, and Fotocopia (which is still running) They were not too deep, and I don't know if they were any good (Plan 9 was fun though) but you can look for them they exist

That's pretty much all we have sadly. Apart from Ginger Meggs, The Phantom... there's also the somewhat not safe for work nudist colony themed webcomic The Bare Pit - which probably won't survive Conroy's FoolFilter.
