I know some jackass is gonna say KOTOR so fuck you buddy KOTOR II is fucking awesome and I'm perfectly happy with the way it turned out.
don't get me wrong, i love KOTOR 2, but it wasn't "nescessary"
KOTOR 1 showed how to tie up the loose ends and not set off to milk a fuckign sequel like so many games do.
and iirc (i played them both recently) KOTOR 2 didn't take anything much from the first, they could have both just been two differently named games called different things based on different periods in the same star wars universe.

and yeah bioshock doesn't need a sequel. though i'll definitely play it.

and i'm eagerly anticipating the old republic MMO.

Easily Destroy All Humans. It was a BRILLIANT game, with neat ideas, and I think that milking the series any further only produced, well... spoiled milk.

Well, there's always the best game ever, a.k.a Kingdom Hearts.

... Seriously, if anyone tries to tell me that the sequels were good, then I'm going to find out where they live and shove a flail down their throat...
I liked Kingdom hearts 2. :) Also they where needed cause the first game ended with a cliff-hanger.

OT: I think that FINAL FANTASY does not need another 10 thousand sequels.
It's kind of strange that FF's even have the numbers on the end, considering that it's basically the same plot every time, but in entirely different worlds, different characters and backstories. Well, I guess they can't think of a new name every time they make a new game...

the entire final fantasy series, even though the tenth installment had a sequel, it didn't need one. the story (in my view) where complete before FF x-2

Call of Duty 4.

If they had released a mission pack for the co-op missions, life would've been grand.
This, This, This and more of This. I was really looking forward to the sequel to COD4 after having enormous fun with it, but now that I see what it managed to spawn....ehhhhhhh.

Chrono Trigger.

So good, that Chrono Cross never should have existed to tarnish it's memory.

Final Fantasy X. I really enjoyed FFX and thought the ending was great, it was emotional and just worked. But then they had to wuss out and make X-2 to give people the 'happy' ending.
That's the main reason I dislike the second game! It was quite fun but easy. Just that ending that really ruffled my feathers.

I think that star wars battlefront 1 shoulda been the only one. Two was not as fun, but i could never really put my finger on why
WTF? BF2's single player campaign was better designed than the original's and the gameplay was more fun than ever. Eh... no pleasing some people I guess.

Anyway...
Cryostasis. It doesn't have a sequel... nor could I really see how you could make one for it...
If Crysis was designed for a hypothetical super-computer from space, then Cryostasis was designed for a computer that only exists in another dimension.

Shadow of the Colossus doesn't really need a sequel, but if they could figure out a way to do one I would be very happy.

Devil May Cry didn't need the sequel it got, it redeemed itself with 3, but 4 was meh at best.

I found this. Although it was an improvement in size, graphics, unlockables, jedi, options, maps and a generally better HUD and interface, It just lacked the...magic...of the original. I think more games need to be like SWB, just pointless arena style wars (no objectives or anything, just kill kill kill and capture ground)
One just had a....feeling, a quality that made me keep playing until my fingers cramped up. Brilliant stuff.

I think the Tony Hawks games died with American Wasteland? It got one step too far, and destroyed a perfectly good game.

THUG2 is on my list of best games ever made (especially with the old PS2 network play), but after THAW and THP8, the game series became dead to me :(

Halo 2:Electric Boogaloo.

At least from the campaign standpoint, the multiplayer on that was great.

Also, did I get the first Electric Boogaloo joke?

Arkham Asylum defenetly doesn't need a sequel. Especially not a sequel with only 1 years production time (It doesn't have to be that, but I am assuming that it will be released this year.)
