I wish Age of Mythology was less easily won by zerg-rush tactics. Limit the Egyptian TC mercenaries a player can get, and multiplayer games would be a deal more skillful.

I would also want the gameplay in Bioshock to undergo some tweaking. The Handymen in Infinite would be my first target.

I wish they had ported Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders to PC and/or that the rest of the series would have kept the format rather than going the hack and slash route.

I wish that Fire Emblem Awakening did a few things.
1) Got ported to Wii U.
2) Put in online multiplayer like Enemy Unkown.
3) Got a graphical makeover to fix some of the more jagged character models and give people actual feet instead of hooves.
4) Tweaked the balancing and difficulty to make it harder and tighter.
5) Changed some of the supports around so we get more LGBT romances.
#5.
Seriously. The support tree between Miriel and Sully was a lesbian fanfic and I really wanted it to go into a marriage. Here's the fun part, I'm a heterosexual male. I just think there was a lot of room for homosexual relationships there, just as a matter of good story telling.

Also, I concur on #2 as well.

Although Galactic Civilisations 2 is my favourite TBS game, certain things about it really bug me. As with pretty much every TBS, combat is based on virtual dice roles with very little player input at all, and with only three weapon and defence types and hull sizes below medium becoming almost entirely redundant in combat roles by the mid-late game, it can be kinda disappointing.

I would change it so that instead of being a little movie of your ships exchanging particle effects with the enemy, you could have the option of going into a sort of 'commander' mode, where you order your ships to target enemies, move and all the likes kinda like a mini-tabletop game, where ships have a certain number of action points that can be used accordingly, as well energy that would have to be managed.

With this change, I would give each weapon class its own characteristics as well as adding branching weapon trees that added a bit variety to the mix by having different characteristics like precision, projectile velocity, spread, lines of fire, turret mountable, range, damage, etc., etc. Targeting systems could also be added to increase ship accuracy.

Same goes for defences: branching trees with different characteristics, with each type also having its own overarching attributes, like armour protecting whole faces against both mass and missile damage, but not completely. Point defences can negate missile damage entirely and in some cases damage fighters, but have a limited area of influence and must be actively engaged. Shields would work in a similar way, but against beams. Activating them takes energy, with their defence rating correlating with power allocated to shields.

Ship dimensions would also play a role in combat, with smaller exposed faces being harder to hit than big, broad ones, making hull design actually mean something. The smaller hulls would actually have a use later on by coming in squadrons, being harder to hit and using fewer action points to move, making them useful for getting in close to larger ships to deliver their payloads, the downside being fewer hitpoints, significantly shorter ranges (unless unmanned) and being unable to move more than one square per turn in the galaxy view. To compensate, I would add hangar modules to facilitate fighter movement with a fleet.

There are a few other things I would add and change, but it's late and I'm tired, so I'll leave it at that.

I wish Human Revolution had the first Deus Ex's ending. Not exactly the same, mind you, but not be shuttled off to the A-B-C ending-tron 5000. I wish the ending stage had three different endings that were solved by using one of your main skills: combat, hacking, or stealth.

Since I mostly play single player games now, I would really love to see story modes that are longer. I couldn't give two hoots about multiplayer, so cutting that and making longer stories would make me soooooo happy. Though, I understand that my particular style of gaming is no longer the most profitable, and as such, I don't begrudge the developers for nixing the length of those modes in favor of the inclusion of multiplayer.

TL;DR Version: Make games longer than the GTA's (minimum) and slightly shorter than Skyrim.

The endings of that game to me felt out of place with the rest of that game considering how much freedom there was in exploration and problem solving up to that point. I did feel kind of cheated with it also being a voice over rather than a cinematic. Even if there was just a generalized short ending showing
Panchaea being destroyed, rioting breaking out if the truth was released, Congress passing a bill, or even long lines at a Limb Clinic to get augments
I would have felt more fulfilled. I really liked that game and played it multiple times in a row, but the ending did not feel up to the same level as the rest of the game.

Also, I would have liked some choice in the boss fights. There were enough tips out there on how to easily take down the bosses if you were not the best combat character, but if there was a way to sneak around to stealth take down a boss, or a way to use other skills - like in Missing Link - I would be super happy.

Don't know if this counts but, I wish that Final Fantasy XII had initially incorporated what they put in the International version into the regular vanilla version that was released all over the world.

Now Final Fantasy XII is my favorite Final Fantasy game, but it still had some glaring flaws when it came to the damage limit, license boards, and the gambit system. Thing is that all of those issues were fixed in the International Version, but only those who imported the game (like me) and who had a PS2 or the PSX2 that could actually read the disc could play it.

It's sad because the International added in 12 license boards, each one specializing in a class like how the Tactics games could; the damage limit was removed so you could do more than 9999 damage; finally the gambits for guests and Espers could be altered or even turned off which was a huge complaint people had about the game.

Death in Far Cry 3. I just really hate this tacky GTA-style respawning system. I'd much rather load from a previous save when I die. As it is, dying really has no penalty at all. I also would have made it far less hand-holdy, but there are mods that address that, so I won't harp on that issue.

Witcher 2. I would have kept the group-style combat mode from the first game. Not only did it look awesome, but it would be handy during fights with many enemies (and that happens a lot in this game). Also, I would have added other means of evading enemies. A variety. Pirouettes, leaps and vaults. That way, fights would look better than just rolling, rolling, rolling. The speed and agility Geralt is supposed to have isn't represented as well in Witcher 2 as it was in the first game.

I will echo what someone else said, and say the inventory of Mass Effect 1. How does a company who made completely fine inventories in past games, make something so god-damn ineffective? It's an absolute chore to sort out, and if you don't clean through it after every mission, you'll get bogged down in shit.

Mass Effect 3. I would have changed the way you contracted side missions. The whole overhearing-conversations thing is so unbelievably silly. Hell, even a simple email message at the terminal saying "Commander, we need an item for the morale of our troops. We think it's at [enter place]. Can you get it for us and drop it off at [enter place]. Thanks!" would be much better and practical.

I wish Disgaea had a camera capable of rotating 360 degrees. It's a puzzle figuring out which units go where on some of the more erratically elevated maps. It's probably the main mechanic making it difficult for me to cope with Disgaea 2. Oh, how I wish for full rotation...

Fallout: Tactics engine should have been expanded upon. That game has, to date, had the best turn based & real time combat I have ever seen in a game.

They should have made Fallout 3 with that engine instead of a quasi-canon game.

If I could change something thing in a game I actually enjoyed...

I would Re-cast Master Chief in the Halo games. Steve Downes is not an actor he is ear cancer that became sentient.

I would dramatically increase the drop rate for legendary guns in Borderlands 2. I want my god damn Fire Infinity to drop!!!

I would take the inventory system from Last of Us and the inventory System from Bioshock Infinite and switch them. That one's self explainable if you've played both games.

That's all I can think of right now.

I wish Sid Meier's Alpha Centuri was in HD. That's it, the game is flawless otherwise.

Only problem with five is wouldn't that seriously mess up the whole "kid system?"

Anyways.
What I would do, is take Super Paper Mario, and remake all of the characters that just look like bad MS paint drawings. Because seriously, if Mimi had a bit more detail added to her, she'd probably be the scariest thing I've ever seen in a game.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a good game...but it has pretty terrible vehicle controls, it's padded to the brim with tutorial missions, there doesn't seem to be any checkpoints during missions, NPC buddies couldn't shoot the broad side of a neon barn, Sam L Jackson doesn't have enough screen time, stat degradation seems to happen at random and, it's just un polished...or maybe it didn't age gracefully...I'll accept both answers.

I would also like for Obsidian to WRITE every Bethesda game.
This is the second time I've seen someone write this. May I ask why this opinion is becoming popular, I think I must've missed something and am a little confused.

NBA 2K series. I really wish that they would make the game a little more fast paced and that the My Player grading system wasn't as punishing as it can be.

- I would take the flamethrower out of The Last of Us, or just gimp it so it doesn't stun lock enemies anymore. As soon as you get it, every infected encounter (as Joel) becomes easy pickings. Even the Bloaters get stun locked by this thing.

- And in Resident Evil 4 I would let Leon keep his leather jacket. It's the coolest piece of clothing any game ever had, and they just yank it away from you within the first half hour.
