Good PS3-only games

Infamous - very good sandbox superhero game with plenty to do and see 40 hours +
Valkyria Chronicles - A srpg with a twist involving story and great gameplay
Disgaea 3 - another (more traditional) srpg loads to do certainly 100 hours +
Killzone 2 - a Serviceable fps with a great oneline play (more in the vain of cod4 than halo)
Resistance (2) - another fps
Motorstorm - fun arcade racer where you can race in anything from motorbikes to monster trucks
MGS4 - Some fantastic boss fight and a involving story (you really need to play the other games first to know whats going on.
Ratchet and clank - a great platformer
little big planet - ditto although better with friends
Uncharted - third person action game good fun if a little short
Heavenly sword - haven't played
folklore - haven't played
Siren blood curse -haven't
God of war 3 - future release
Heavy rain - future release
The Last Guardian - future release

and on the psn

flower
and more that escape me at the moment. I think that just about covers it.

Thanks for the responses so far. I do have a question for all of you though: will I still be able to enjoy MSG4 even if I haven't played the previous MSG games?

Yeah, I played through it having never touched the previous games, and I found it to be one of my favorite and most enjoyable games.

Anyhoo, as for recommendations:

So the game is basically a tech demo. I have read a shitload of reviews on the "game" and seen loads of "gameplay" of it. It's hardly something worthy of being even called a game.

Also, I DO have a PS3, but I don't have a PSN username of my own, hence why I have nothing on my page about that written.

I suggest you play the $9.99 game before you talk shit about it. While it may be on the short side, it's definately a great unwinder with beautiful music in the background and has and excellent feel to it. Do not judge a book by it's cover, and if so you are being extremely stupid for not at least trying out this game because it looks stupid to you. It's a game you have to play for yourself to understand, not something you look up gameplay footage of.

Okay, firstly: I wasn't able to search if such a thread has been made already because my internet speed is currently at the same level as dial-up.

I was thinking of buying a PlayStation 3, since I've recently lost all confidence in my Xbox 360 when it started scratching my discs. However, I don't just want to impulse-buy a 400 euro console, so I hoped that you guys could tell me about some of the good PS3-only games that are out there.

But you have no actual proof that he has not played it. Maybe he has and maybe he hasn't we don't know. Just because someone does not like a game is nothing to get angry about. You also do not know if he has a PS3 or does not have a PS3.

Since you have slow net I have to ask - did you get that "new xbox experience" or whatever it's called? The thing with the avatars? - well you can install games to the hard drive so I assume if you have the space you can install all your games and the discs won't scratch.

It's only temporary though; we have some issues with our wireless network, or so it seems.

Anyhoo, yes, I am able of installing my games onto my xbox. However, that would cost me another 120 or so euros because I'd need a bigger hard drive and I would still need the discs, some of which are already severely damaged. Not only that, but I wont have an xbox for about three weeks because I'm sick of the damn console and it's flaws. I've had several errors with it already, including a RRoD, which mysteriously fixed itself after leaving the damn console untouched for a week.

On the other hand, I'd buy a PS3 pretty much on future potential, with God of War 3, the Last Guardian and Heavy Rain as the three main titles. However, Killzone 2, inFamous, LBP and Folklore are games I'd probably like as well, so there would certainly be some titles for me. Not only that, but the PS3 has most of the games which the Xbox does as well, only better looking...

Well, as far as I can tell you've got nothing to lose, except money, but that's money being "spent" anyway. You could also try the PC route if cost is the concern since there's lots of bargain parts and if you only have like, a few things to change that could work out, if you pretty much have to start from scratch though then that could cost an extra 100.

I say get one but also keep your 360 and try to rent more games for it instead. Disc scratching is serious business, you could install games on the 360 but multiple consoles are usually convenient, cuz of those pesky exclusives.

I have discussed this game on other forums before, but I must ask once again.

Why would one be stupid enough to waste money on Flower when all you can do is go outside and watch an ACTUAL field of flowers?

It's not worth any money.

Well, first of all I live in a town called Flower Mound and even then it's hard to find a field of flowers. Second, it's in your house, which is convenient. Third, It's calming - which I use for yoga, but I guess I'm weird.

Consider Flower more of an interactive or engaging screensaver. There are plenty of "priced" screensavers out there too, so I guess it's just an ongoing debate of "if it's worth it or not".
