8edit. As out of control and flammable the escapist gets sometimes, you never truly appreciate it till you scroll down another boards replies..even something as simple as a poll reply is just so.. ugh.. well you know where imn going with this. So frustrating.

Aw, come on! That's a total abuse of power for Valve to use Steam to promote votes for themselves. It was only a 200 vote difference yesterday and now Gordon has over 30K more votes. Damn the propaganda machine!

I would like to point out that since this is a vague, entertaining popularity contest, any and all arguments for why someone should win is valid. Personally, my favorite part of this is how the steam news page said something to the effect of, "Come on guys, I know that episode 2 came out a while ago...". Nice. Voted for Gordon. It takes an awesome character (And some fantastic work on the part of designers)to make a fan base love a character, while being a silent protagonist. Besides, he isn't a badass space marine fighting aliens, hes a geek fighting aliens. He is one of us! Not that I really need to defend his credentials, it seems.

Also, I notice that no one is calling foul over Steam advertising on there front page to get votes, in order to win a contest. ::Looks at current Escapist background". Lets remember that when March rolls around, shall we?

While Gordon Freeman instills the illusion of "You can kick ass to, even though you're retarded and have no social skills" in weak nerds, Link is a hero about gameplay and fun. Nuff said
