Thats just...wrong...and selfish and fucked up. With the huge age difference and the incestous conception. She is going to either die or become weak and dependent before the kid turns 18. I would not be surprised if their child kills itself later on.

God i heard this on our local new and was like wtf. Isn't there actually health risks to kids born from incest relationships?
EDIT: Oh wait its a surrogate mother. I get it now. Still really really weird

Its a shame the baby will never have a normal family and will likely not know its mother for very long.

Oh god... I believe in love in all it's forms (human x human), but their are some lines you don't cross; such as, the bloodline. The only blessing (and I use that loosely) is the fact they wanna use a donated egg instead of the grandmothers' so at least geneticlly the kid has a (slim) chance, but mentally he's probably gunna end up needing psych help later in life

summery: *runs away*

I see nothing wrong with the incest thing in general and they're using a surrogate mother so that's A-OK to me. As long as people are happy and they're not having incestuous children (which I believe are likely to have brain issues at birth) what's wrong with it? People on this forum think they're so fucking intelligent and their entire argument in this case is "eww but its weird and different and icky." That's not a logical argument.

The only logical thing that is wrong is what someone else and a few other people have said:

Mr.Tea said:
How incredibly selfish of them... You can tell they were only thinking about themselves; At 72, she's very likely to die before 18 years and also very likely to become ill and dependent before that, leaving the fucked up 'dad' to take care of 2 people at once.
Which I agree with, and that's why they shouldn't have children.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
And furthermore, ewwwwww.

But if they love each other (for some strange reason) then they should be able to have a child together, and/or get married.

My thoughts on this matter can only be summed up in one word.

Actually the only reason there are increased health risks is because recessive genetic diseases are more likely to appear in children resulting from incestuous relationships (Basically not likely still, unless your family are carriers of a rare disease). So really there aren't that many health risks with incest (but there definitely are with a 72 year old). Also EWWWWW. I mean... Hawt.

Taken on its own, in a strict sense, morally it's fine. The trouble comes because the kid will be bullied like you wouldn't believe because people are like that, his/her life would be a nightmare.

I am actually intrigued by what is making me feel the "ewwwwwwwww". The incestuous part obviously, but the fact that she's really old too. Is them being grandson/grandmother better than brother/sister? Or worse? What would make me more uncomfortable? I don't have a sister so I can't compare, the closest would be my brother but that's same sex and already a line crosser for me. (I'm not saying homosexuality is comparable to incest at all, before some angry man has a go at me, I'm saying it's an extra contributing factor to me trying to understand my brain!) I am guessing though, that brother/sister would be seen, by most, as weirder than grandson/grandmother. I see it as weirder anyway.

PS. From what I read here the child would only be related to the guy, the grandma wouldn't be related at all. The egg is from a donor and the baby would be carried by a surrogate, so no familial gene sharing.

Yuck. That child is going to have some emotional distress when he gets into school; that is if he doesn't have a terrible mental disorder.

Oh, and

EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

I've died inside. This kid is going to have problems coming out of whatever holes his deformed body will have. There is only one man who can save us from this... JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!
