I think a lot of people are not reading the article and fully comprehending what is happening here. The "grandma" is not giving birth to anyone. She's just in love with her grandson. He's going to inseminate some 30 year old woman who will give them the child after it's born. Therefore the baby will not actually be the result of incest, but it will be raised by a completely messed up set of parents.

Two consenting adults, very much in love, are having a kid from a surrogate mother. The surrogate has no problem with the couple taking and raising the child. All fairly normal, except the couple is related. I always find it funny how one detail can turn something from "aww" to "eww"

The only problem I could find would be the child but since it's being conceived by a surrogate its a non-issue. So it all comes down to the taboo of incest and I have real issue with taboo's since, you know, I actually like using my brain.

From what I gather incest is "wrong" because:

So, getting passed the initial "ew"-factor, let's face it--she's gonna be dead in like 15-20 years, tops. Or if not dead then at the very least, quite unable to provide any sort of support to the relationship, whether it be money or just the ability to care for the child. That leaves him at 41-46 years old at the most when she's gone, and their "child" will be 15-20 years old, tops as well. Personally, I think it's a bit selfish for them to have a child like this.

They're just setting themselves up for failure. The child won't have much of an involved mother, and all the pressure will be on the father to care for the kid AND his "lover," who won't be able to continue caring for herself all by herself for much longer. It'll be like taking care of two kids, almost.
