So, I just got back from Alice Coopers concert here in Stockholm and I realised that Wow, I've seen some great bands this summer.

In total, I've seen Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly and I also went to Metalband and saw, among others, System of a Down, Korn and Avenged Sevenfold.

So I want to know what concerts you guys have gone to, maybe some of us have gone to the same and can share memories?

I saw Muse. In Wembley. Last September. And it was AMAZING!!! They have crazy amounts of energy. It seemed like the slower songs were more for the audience/crowd to rest than the band.

Biffy Clyro were supporting. They were also awesome, but somewhat overshadowed.

The most memorable was when I went to see Queen and Paul Rodgers in Sheffield for my 16th birthday. I even got to shake Brian May's hand. It's one of the most memorable experiences of my life :)

The last concert I went to was incredible, I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor in Brooklyn. They have an incredible live setup with film loops running on huge screen in the background, it is the perfect accompaniment to the music and makes the live show extremely epic.

Here's a video of the show I was at (I have some footage I took myself but the audio is absolutely terrible).

I'm going to see Alice when he does the Holloween show in Manchester, can't wait. I've seen a few bands live, although this year I've only seen Bon Jovi and my previous gig's before that were Machine Head and Lacuna Coil both of which were at the begining of last year, all were awesome.

Some of the higlights have been, Slipknot and Motley Crue at Download 09 both were amazing, especially Slipknot they had everyone pumped, got right to the front for Crue. Seeing Metalica at Wembley in 07 they were great. I've seen Foo Fighters and Muse the most about 4 times each and every time they've been great, was at the front for both bands when I saw them at Wembly. Slayer was awesome at the Apollo, again at the front, Kerry King is Frikking Huge would not mess with him.

One of the most fun gigs I've been to was Nightwish at Brixton Academy, I can barley remember the show because I was pissed by the time they let us in me and my friend just wanted more drinks so everyone charged at the front and we charge to the bar, cost us about £10 per round for 2 drinks and we wach must of spent at least 60 quid, wasn't falling over or being sick though so that what made it fun, apparently it was a good show by them though wish I saw a bit more but I had a great time.

Phew, so theres some of my gigs, I get carried away when I start talking about them but I just love going to them and getting caught up in the atmosphere of it all, I'm sulking now though, I've just rememberd that it's Sonisphere this weekend and the Big 4 are playing and I'm not going :(
Yeah, I missed both Sonisphere and the Big 4, and I live like a hour from were Sonisphere so that sucks. But there weren't that many great bands anyway.

Slayer I saw the last time they were in Sweden. Amon Amarth was supporting, and Olavi's brother in a close friend to my family, so I got tickets for free. That was awesome.

KMFDM is always a fun show, especially if you find them at a venue where they like to hang out with fands at afterwards (like the Metro in Chicago).

Porcupine Tree just does amazing versions of their songs live, it is rare to see a band who's songs become more complex and interesting live than on cd.

But the best show I ever saw was Type O Negative at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago for their cd October Rust. They had these dead trees & bushes all over the stage, fog on the ground, snow coming from above, and all with a great performance, seeing Coal Chamber & Electric Hellfire Club open was pretty sweet too.

Alice Cooper was at the Foo Fighters concert that I went to the other day, he's definitely still got it.

And yes, Foo Fighters at The Milton Keynes Bowl was the best concert I've ever been to, Biffy Clyro, Death Cab for Cutie and Tame Impala supporting, all of which were great, The Foos themselves played a 2 and a half hour set which was just awesome song after awesome song after awesome song.

Then again, I've got Reading Festival later this year which could just maybe equal it, it will take a lot though.

Yeah, 63 years old and still kicking ass. However, he has a problem with him being so theatrical on stage, it makes everything seem a bit fake. In a really good concert, everything feels like it is being improvised, even though it is obviously not. But he still manages to get that "WOW" feeling, making the audience feel speciel. Throwing in some "Another brick in the wall" during Schools Out. Genious!
