Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Metallica...I got to see Powerman 5000 at a tiny little venue in Fresno Ca. They didn't have security or anything, so I was able to jump onstage with the band. The bassist got all pissed and shoved me off....I met Hinder once, but they're kinda lame, so I don't really talk about it. I think the vocalist's name was...Anthony? I'm not sure, I was 16 at the time.

I have seen Pantera, Weezer, Metallica three times...all fantastic. I have seen Slipknot as well, while Joey is a freaking RIDICULOUS amazing drummer 24/7, the rest of the band is not that good live.

I haven't been to many live concerts by big name bands, although I've been to countless shows with some bands that have as much or more talent than quite a few big bands. Bible of the Devil always managed to put on a great show with limited space.

Big bands, I think my favorite will stay with the Smashing Pumpkins on their Infinite Sadness tour. It was my first concert, and they were really damn awesome. Tool was great as well, the lighting and visuals were icing on the cake, my only regret is they didn't play Pushit. The first time I saw Modest Mouse was great as well, they were on the ball, played a great set, and I didn't regret driving 500 miles to see it. The second time I saw them Isaac Brock showed up at least 40 minutes late because he was getting wasted and missed the van, mumbled through songs so badly that you couldn't really tell what song it was supposed to be, got pissy and started yelling when someone threw a plastic bottle at him, and started cutting himself on stage.

Country
United States
Aerosmith
Korn (twice)
Motley Crue (twice and they were fucking amazing both times)
Kittie (They were awesome, the only thing that sucked was we were in a small club...)
Hell Yeah (they were alright)

And a few other bands I've never heard of that were in festivals that I can't remember their names off the top of my head. I don't go to many concerts, for some reason bands that I love avoid my area.

Metallica with Down in 2008, and I saw Testament, Slayer, and Megadeth on their tour last summer. Seeing Slayer live was the epitome of awesome. Also, seeing a dwarf with a giant red beard dispose of a 6'5", 250+ lbs drunk mosher was cool too.

Listing as I remember them:

30 Seconds To Mars (x3)
Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster (x3)
Dark Tranquillity (x2)
The Appleseed Cast (x2)
Minus The Bear
Protest The Hero
Opeth
Paramore
Kamelot
Epica
Between The Buried And Me
Circa Survive

...and I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting.

I'm looking forward to the Opeth/Katatonia tour coming up. I so want to see Katatonia live.

The best show I ever went to was a Suburban Legends/Aquabats show, and it was goddamn glorious. I hope I get to see either one of those bands again soon. I've seen Rush and the B-52's (Shut up, they're awesome) as well, and those are also awesome shows.

And I'm going to see Children of Bodom with Devin Towsnend this weekend.

My favourite live band is probably Vader. Incredibly intense shows, and they never fail at getting the crowd engaged in the experience. Another fond live memory is seeing Cannibal Corpse in Stockholm. The show was pretty good despite the crowd, but the part that made it memorable was that I spent an hour chatting with some of the band members afterwards. Meeting and having a chat with people who have influenced your taste in music so greatly is a great feeling.

One of the best concerts I've been too was Leonard Cohen. I saw him twice over the last few years and both times were fantastic. He sounded far better live than in the old recordings I had of him and the band and music arrangement was perfect.

for the same reason:

The Cure
Pearl Jam

both those bands played for over 3 hours when I saw them recently covering a range of songs throughout their careers. They didn't have a flashy show but maintained interest through their music and enthusiasm.

Tool - tight musicians, great stage presence and slick visuals

U2 and Muse fall under the catergory of stadium-rock perfection.

Faith No More were funny, aggressive, arrogant and entertaining

Sigur Ros - Amazing live; their music is incredible on its own but they turn up the intensity live.

thats all I can think for now.

oh yeah,

Rammstein have the craziest live show I have seen when it comes to pyro technics.

I saw Dream Theater once as a part of Prog Nation '09 which featured DT, Zappa Plays Zappa, Big Elf, and Scale the Summit. I saw Iron Maiden with DT opening for them which was amazing. I've also seen Coheed and Cambria and Porcupine Tree on separate occasions.
