DOOM and Grim Fandango

My 2 favorite childhood games right there :(
Actually, you can easily play Doom and Doom 2 and Final Doom on the PC with a source port without any real hassle with loads of new features like better visuals and total free-look.
Are you talking about Doom Legacy here Hardcore_gamer or something else?

Which source port do you prefer for Doom, Doom 2?
Mine is Doom Legacy (in case that wasn't clear by now.) :p
I would like to know how to make them play period
please tell me

I can't finish Vice City because that mission with some RC Helicopter has VERY bad controls.
I can't move the god damn Helicopter!

Dear God, this.

I can't play either of the KOTOR games on the 360 either, as the emulator messes them up. Way to go, Microsoft. Real backwards compatability was just totally out of the question, huh?

KotOR dies on me at the end. I hate it. Microsoft really messed up here. Other consoles can play the games perfectly and Microsoft just screws it up.

Okay, first go to the url below
http://sourceforge.net/projects/doomlegacy/
Click the green download now button (legacy 142.exe)
Install the program
Copy your Doom.wad and Doom2.wad files into the Doom Legacy main folder.

Open the launcher and click on Game Mode
In the select game wad file section use the "..." buttons to browse for the location of the main WAD files.
Select which WAD file you want to use Doom or Doom 2.
Press Ok, click on Setup and select a render mode (Software, OpenGL, 3dFx Glide, MiniGL)

To launch the game just click launch or single map if you want to choose a specific level or add map wad files.
Other game options (Resolution, field of view, fog) can be changed in the in-game menu by pressing ESC.

Thank you, I now have something to keep me entertained this weekend.

Now if only I could get Grim Fandango to work, my life would be significantly better

I've been trying to get Red Alert to work for me for the last 8 years or so. Tried to get it going on win2k, xp, and vista. Maybe its for the best my childhood memories of the game stay the way they are.

Also Army of Two. I played it three or four times and the disc got scratched. After that whenever I would try to load or start a new game it would freeze up.

You're welcome.

I'm afraid I have no idea how to help make Grim Fandango work.

If anyone else is trying to get Doom Legacy to work on Linux / a Mac click view all files next to the green button or follow this link
http://sourceforge.net/projects/doomlegacy/files/
Mac will have to use legacy_143beta.
Linux can use legacy_142_linux.tar.gz or earlier versions if you want.

Resident Evil 4, iv seen so many people do their own review and gave it VERY low scores because they don't know how to play right, they would complain about having to stand and shoot, and the camera sucks, or the enemies are too hard.

Resident Evil 4 is for the Pro-Hardcore Gamers of the world (well thats what i think at least)

I did a little digging.
Try running it through Virtual PC (if you have it), it should be a little glitchy but apparently works.

I actually did try that a while ago, but it didn't work to well for me. Lots of crashes.
thanks for trying to help though.

RE4 is fantastic, it was why I got a gamecube. I hate it when people complain about standing and shooting, it pisses me off.

The great old Star Wars games for PC: Tie Fighter and X-Wing. I can't play them because my pc won't take the joystick I used.

The original KOTOR has a really weird problem on my PC. It plays perfectly fine up to a certain point in the spaceship where you start, where the character just can't move anymore. Everything else works perfectly, but he just stops moving and you can't do anything about it.

My warcraft 3 original discs were worn/scratched beyond playable recognition. The battle chest is still a stupid amount of money in stores -_-

Resident Evil 2. I don't have any technical problems running the game, but that was back in the day when 3D characters controlled like tanks and it's hard to stomach the controls.
