"So your a peaceful angel then?" Elisha scoffs, "and here I was thinking you'd be darker than those other sinless ones...especially after working with Lucifer himself...but now, I bide you farewell. May you not stop me the next time I hunt that smell...I fear I won't be so civil tomorrow."

Elisha bows before bursting away from Eosphorous, into the distance, the scent of the lycan still burning her nostrils.

Tomorrow night, shall be more...interesting, they know we are active again now, they will hunt us, Tristan's voice purrs in Elisha's skull. The frequency of Tristan's voice in her head was increasing, whether through degradation of sanity or other reasons...it was scaring her.

Escorting the Bishop back to his apartments, Luther could not shake the feeling of unease that had plagued him since the vampire had appeared. Finally reaching the rooms, he nodded to the Bishop.

"Noapte buna, Father."

Bishop Gorie nodded back.

"And to you, my son. Do not worry, I will lock everything securely and in the even that I need your assistance, I will ring the bell."

Luther nodded.

"I will see you in the morning. God bless."

The Bishop smiled.

"God bless, my son."

Luther waited until he heard the door lock and bolt from the inside. Still uneasy, he returned to the main chamber and barred the great doors of the Cathedral. Walking back up to the altar, he sat down and gazed at the crucifix, holding the black feather between his thumb and forefinger.

"I am not peaceful. If someone tries to kill me then I shall kill them. And farewell vampire.. may we never meet again." This is certainly going to be an interesting adventure. A horde of vampires fighting against a pack of Lycans. And a human who has peaked my interest. Interesting indeed.

Eosphorous' wings burst from her back, the black feathers ruffled from being tucked away for so long. "Much better. Now lets see what people need 'saving'." Flapping her wings twice Eosphorous soon found herself gliding through the air. I wonder what Luther is doing...

After a few minutes of flying around Eosphorous landed near the chapel, her wings disappearing back into her robe. Its such a shame to have to hide my wings.

You're probably best just to read it. A lot of stuff happened to a lot of people, too much to summarize effectively.
Ian stalked along the roof, following a scent. He was deliberately avoiding the scent of a vampire, they weren't what he wanted tonight. He wanted blood on his tongue, and flesh in his fangs. What he could smell was . . . vital. Somebody full of life and passion, but not weak. Worthy prey. And he was running out of time, the sky was already starting to redden with the coming sunrise.

He looked down into the street, and found his target. A young man and woman approached the step outside of a house. They seemed anxious as she fixed her hair and adjusted her slip, and he tightened his belt. They stood on the porch and looked at each other. She leaned in and kissed him and he wrapped his arms around her, then let go as she quietly entered the house.

Ian crouched, ready to pounce as the man left the building and started jogging down the street. Dropping to the street silently, he started off after his prey, saliva forming at the anticipation. As the gap closed, the man was alerted to his pursuer and looked back. Upon beholding the slavering beast behind him, he screamed and tripped over himself. Ian leapt onto his chest and pinned him to the ground. He leaned in and took a long sniff at his meal, then exhaled a satisfied breath of mist in the cool air. Finally, he sank his teeth into the man's neck, causing him to struggle and convulse. He flailed his limbs, delivering several powerful kicks to the lycans chest and legs. A deep growl escaped Ian's throat and he squeezed his jaws shut around the mans neck. Bones cracked under his powerful teeth and the body fell still.

He devoured as much of the body as he could before sunrise. By the time the first shaft of light crossed the horizon, the man's ribs had been torn open and his torso cleaned. Gore splattered upon the street around him, and Ian was already out of the town and back in the forest.

The horizon was already brightening by the time Ilkka had devoured his meal, leaving little but half the creature's bones and a few shreds of dripping flesh. He gazed upward, gnawing on the unicorn's spine. The vampire that had slain his prey had probably fled to his castle or cave by now, frightened of the warmth that now stirred the lycan's fur in a pleasurable breeze. Pity, he thought, his mind clearer in this form than most would be. To miss a sun. The cold would be unbearable... I imagine.

A branch creaked nearby, his ears swivelling automatically in its direction, one of them a little slower and shredded halfway. After a long moment of thoughtful chewing, Ilkka straightened. He could transform at will, and had been doing so for over two centuries, but the day always seemed more appreciable as a human, with nighttime for lycans. Whether that said anything about himself remained uncertain.

Feeling full and thoroughly satisfied, Ilkka allowed the fur to recede into his skin, and his long snout flatten into a regular face. His body shrank, though still remained large by human standards, and he could probably deliver a few solid blows to any transformed lycan.

He stretched his arms as he stalked over to the remainder of the unicorn. Its skull was already sinking into the ground, white and clean of any meat, even the eyeballs missing. However, a shimmering golden horn protruded from its forehead, practically screaming for gold. With a sharp tug Ilkka managed to wrench it free and tucked it into a pouch at his belt.

At that same moment, the sound of rustling in the bushes approached. He sniffed. Another lycan? Peculiar. Jaw clenched, he turned, watching as a movement of heavy fur and a large body ran nearby, far away but not out of sight.

That would be Sporky. :p Meet and greet or not, your choice.

Marcus walked up to his room, the castle walls glowing eerily in the torchlight. He enjoyed the coolness of the castle, the dampness of the walls and the darkness they created.

Did he miss the outside world? The sun, the warmth and the light? No. He could say with honesty to anyone who asked, he did not miss it. Humans were disgusting and hypocritical creatures. They killed each other, not out of a need for food but because they were animals, no worse than the lycans and vampires they hunted.

If it wasn't for that night, he'd most likely be a serial killer by now...

But those days were over and as Marcus pushed open the doors to his bedchamber, he smiled at the works of art and jewels that lined the walls, as well as the fine clothes and masks he had.

The humans might be animals, but they were animals with excellent taste. He burst out laughing at the thought, tossing the unicorn blood on his bed. He hung up his travelling cape and prepared to walk downstairs to see who else had arrived home

Sitting quietly on the pew in contemplation, Luther focused on the feather he held in his hand as it grew faintly warm before cooling again. Bringing it close to his face, he studied it. Jet black, it glimmered faintly with a satiny sheen, soft to the touch. He smiled and replaced it in his jerkin, standing up from the pew and stretching. Beginning to walk, he traced the familiar route around the Cathedral, his hammer held loosely in his hand. Though the building was one of the most secure in Bucuresti, and possibly even Romania, he took no chances. He repeated his route several more times, satisfied that there had been no intrusions.

Returning to the main chamber, Luther walked over to the great doors of the Cathedral. Unbarring them, he opened one slightly and poked his head outside, seeing of the torches stationed at the front of the building illuminated anything.

Kaem had been stalking the rooftops for quite a while, trailing after Elisha, wondering what she was up to.

"... An angel?!"
He gasped quietly as the previous events happened before his eyes.

"Nevertheless, I have more important things to do, and less time to do it!"

Kaem quietly jumped onto a balcony and opened the window. Seconds after he crept inside the three story house, a woman's scream could be heard, echoing through the village.

"Time to go!"
Kaem said as he bounced off the balcony and landed on the pavement. A man appeared in the window and five others appeared on the porch.

"STOP!" They yelled as they aimed crossbows at Kaem.
He noticed guards running to him from the barracks and decided to completely neglect the men on the porch, there was no time.

As he turned away and walked, he waved his hand.
The men fired and two bolts dug their way into his back.

He grunted at the momentary pain he was inflicted upon and turned around.
"Oh, there's not much time but this armor costs a fortune!"

Kaem unsheathed his swords and sprinted towards them, gouging them open, spraying blood all over the walls and layering the porch with intestines.
As the men sat there, lying in their blood and crying for help, the guards finally arrived, only to see a shadowy figure mount a steed and ride out of the gates.

"Well hello there." Eosphorous said as she saw Luther peer his head through the door. "I tried to enter but the doors were barred shut. I've come to pray again."

Not waiting for Luther to respond she made her way to the door and let herself in. All the windows in the church were closed and locked. "Is this because of the girl that was here earlier?"

Momentarily taken aback as Eosphorous entered, Luther shook his head, a small smile crossing his face as he re-barred the doors.

"My apologies, I did not expect you to be returning so soon."

Turning, he heard Eosphorous' question.

"Partly; it is a precaution taken every night, mainly because of the likes of her and her kin. With her coming here earlier I thought it best to remain awake and be vigilant in the case of many possible intruders."

He looked at the angel.

"Thank you, by the way, I did not get a chance earlier. I was not looking forward to the possibility of fighting her."

A wry grin crossed his face.

"I take it you know of her... condition? Much as I do?"

Hell Yeah!

Also, I'm going to assume we Lycans aren't going into too much detail on the clothing issue. You know what I'm talking about.
As he rushed through the foliage, a new scent met Ian. Something tantalizing, but also something else. Another lycan? He slowed down and followed the trail, finding himself in a clearing with a rather large human. He knew this was the lycan he smelled, but he maintained caution as he circled around to find the other thing. He kept his eyes locked with the lycan until his gaze fell upon a cleaned corpse, resembling a horse.

As imposing as the lycan appeared, Ian noticed that it hadn't made any threatening moves. He stood up on his hind legs and transformed back to human. He licked the tips of his teeth before saying, "You're quite a hunter."

I was actually going to mention my character dumping his clothes on my first post, but everyone else is taking the PG-13 movie route, so I figured I might as well too for convenience's sake. ;)

Ilkka stood his ground as the other lycan approached, knowing that the sign of dominance could determine whether this stranger would be his friend or foe. He smiled grimly at the stranger's comment, the stubble along his chin scratching somewhat pleasantly.

"Regretfully, this is not my catch; only a stolen pursuit," he replied finally, his voice surprisingly quiet for his stature, though deep- like a whispering rumble of distant thunder. "Vampires encroach this forest more and more."

He noticed the fellow lycan eyeing the unicorn's remains which, without the horn he had stolen, looked akin to any regular horse. He also made a mental note to keep the horn concealed. Though the stranger seemed reasonable enough, many people would do silly things for the horn of such a beast.

Straightening slightly, he looked his fellow lycan in the eye, intense and unmoving. "They call me Ilkka- and you might as well."

Well, Ian did dump his jacket before changing. It's not like lycan's really mind it. As much as I hate PG-13 censors, I suppose it doesn't really add to the story in a significant way.
"Ilkka." he said to make sure he remembered, "I am called Ian."

He looked around for any sign of the vampires, even though he knew they would have burned to ash in the sunlight. "There were many vampires in the town last night as well. They are too bold to enter our forest."

"One night, they will go too far and never be able to return." he mused.

"There is no need to thank me Luther. I was protecting you.. That is all. And I do know of her.. 'condition'. After I took her from here we walked for a bit and spoke about many things. Apparently she has not eaten in days. She said that she was following a scent that smelled like.. honey."

Eosphorous sat down in one of the isle chairs, gazing at the altar in the middle of the corridor. "It certainly is beautiful. Many of the churches I've been to have not had enough money to get such beautiful things. By the way, did you like the feather that I gave you?"

Ilkka smiled in return, liking this lycan's attitude more and more.

"If anything, they are the threat," he muttered, almost to himself, pulling his sleeves down. Though his body produced a massive amount of heat, his years in the cold reaches of the north had made him less sensitive to the warmth that he enjoyed so dearly.

After a long moment of scrutinizing Ian, Ilkka folded his arms across his chest and said, "I have never been to these regions before. You wouldn't happen to know where these vampires lurk, would you?"

"They have a castle on the other side of the town where they hide during the day." he said, "It's very well defended."

Ian rubbed his bare arms as a cool breeze rolled through, and he remembered he left his jacket behind. "If you've never been around here, I suppose you haven't seen our little village? I plan to head back today, I can show you if you like."

Luther cocked his eyebrow.

"Honey you say? Curious..."

He moved through the chamber and sat next to Eosphorous, reaching into his jerkin and taking out the feather. Smiling, he showed it to her, holding it between his thumb and forefinger.

"Thank you, it is a kind gift."

"You're very welcome Luther." Eosphorous looked back to the altar and took out her rosary. She had first come here to see Luther, but she could not pass up the chance to pray.

O my God,
I am heartily sorry for
Having offended Thee,
And I detest all my sins,
Because I dread the loss of heaven,
And the pains of hell;
But most of all because
They offend Thee, my God.
I firmly resolve,
With the help of Thy grace
To confess my sins,
To do penance
And to amend my life.

Amen.

Making the crucifix sign with her hands, Eosphorous turned back to Luther and smiled. "I gave you the feather for a reason Luther. Now do you know what I actually am?"

Luther gave a small smile and nodded.

"I do. I also think that Father Gorie knows as well, the man knows more than he lets on."

He looked at the feather briefly before looking back at the angel's face.

"He also told me not to associate with you, though sometimes I think the good Bishop's wisdom is vastly overrated."

His smile widened.
