Ilkka watched with keen interest as the two lycans fought heatedly, delivering a swift set of blows before the victor was declared. Perhaps later you will find such a good fight as well. A few spectators around the edge of the sparring area eyed him curiously, perhaps sizing him up for a fight.
As they approached Ian's building, Ilkka gazed to the upper floors and nodded approvingly. "A place to rest would be more than appreciated- as much as I enjoy curling under a tree to sleep, a soft bed is probably better for the mind."
Scanning the rest of the buildings, he added, "And humans and vampires frequent this place, too? ...I'll admit, I'm surprised this village isn't long gone already."
"This used to be a human village, but as I understand it was abandoned when the town reached a certain size. That was when we took it." He thought about what else Ilkka had said, then coughed out a laugh. "I doubt a vampire would even want to come here, and even if they did I don't think they would make it through the forest without getting lost or chased out."
Ian inclined his head and looked for the tree he had climbed before the hunt. Remembering his route, he walked from his dwelling and quickly found the old pine. Part way up, he spied his jacket still hanging from a branch. Without checking to see if Ilkka was still with him, he scaled the tree. As he stepped out onto the branch it made a wet crack. He stopped, and tried to reach out for it. Failing that, he dropped down and hung from the branch by his hands and propped his toes on a lower one. This way, he was able to stretch out his free hand and graze the leather. He managed to hook his finger around it and jostle it free, causing it to slide off the branch and fall to the ground.
The lycan smiled triumphantly and swung off the branch, falling several meters before landing easily on the ground. He snatched the jacket and pulled it on, lacing up the front of it as he walked back to his structure.
I think we may have differing views on this village. I'm not criticizing, but I had imagined around 6 - 10 small houses used more as communal sleeping areas rather than as a "this is your house, this is mine" type of thing. TTT never really described the setting in any detail. What were you thinking, Aqua?
Ah, yeah, I'm a little confused as to the setting since it was never really described. I thought it was more of a human settlement, with lycans and vampires on either side frequently passing through. Nevermind, though. Your view sounds reasonable enough!
As Ian walked off briskly with little indication of where he was going, Ilkka was quickly distracted, gazing across the sparring area to a row of decrepit benches. Upon the furthest sat a woman. He could catch the scent of a lycan from this distance, and found himself intrigued- he had met only one or two females before, aside from his mother and siblings. As he paused, another of the lycan males took notice, and seized the opportunity to advance.
"Fancy a fight, do you?" the stranger growled, following Ilkka's gaze, seemingly directed to the round patch of dirt stained with blood that marked the arena. Before he could reply, the lycan had reached a hand up to his shoulder and was pushing him forward.
Upon entering the ring, another man looked over. He was stockily built, and roughly a head shorter than Ilkka. Seeing the challenge, he stepped forward tugging his shit roughly from his body that was shredded with scars. In a flash he shifted, brown fur on end, teeth bared.
Ilkka hesitated, staring at the man. He had little desire to fight- this stranger had just won one fight and was still under the influence of his lust for violence. Such sparring, he thought, was pointless, only based from pride and not the desire to better oneself. Nevertheless, he transformed also, a hulking figure before one of the tallest of lycans.
The fool was far too headstrong, lunging forward almost immediately. Still recoiling from the transformation, he collided with Ilkka, who was pushed back a step. With one clawed hand he seized the lycan's shoulder and pushed him aside and into the ground, his snout mashed into the dirt. He then delivered a rough blow to the head, dazing his target. The stranger roared and rolled away, before lunging again.
Never learns. Brash. Ilkka ducked this time, tackling the incomer in the gut. Following the momentum, he pushed the lycan onto his shoulder and flipped him over, where he fell onto the ground on his back this time. The air seemed knocked out of him, an opportunity which Ilkka seized to pound his fists onto his foe's chest. The lycan howled in pain, rolling over to clutch at his ribs. Satisfied that he had done this without inflicting any scratches- maybe leaving a broken bone or two at best- Ilkka turned away and quickly returned to his human form, scowling darkly at the spectators as he left the ring.
Tonight, he would get a good room.
As Ian passed, lacing a new jacket, Ilkka said from the corner of his mouth, "I'm fond of this place already."
"My name is Eosphorous. It is a pleasure to meet you sir." Eosphorous' face suddenly turned serious as she turned back to Elisha. "To answer your question I am here to talk to you over your feud with the lycans. That lycan who was following us last night, do you know who he is?"
Ian looked between Ilkka and the fighting ring, and back to Ilkka. "You made the right choice. If you had backed down I'm sure you would have felt very differently by tomorrow."
As the men walked next to Jason's horse, they could hear the dull rumble of men's voices nearby. A barracks was visible through the tree's.
"Are you sure they won't ask questions...?" Gregory asked nervously, rubbing his arm where his scar was. He always checked his scar was okay when he was nervous.
Valdori eyed up the stranger suspiciously, his eyes gleaming under the torchlit archway he was standing in. He strode over, his footseps echoing across the massive hall, staring intently at the new arrival.
"What buisness have you intefering with our relationship with the Lycans?" he growled, his face twisted in a menacing scowl. Strangers, in Valdoris experience, led to trouble, and he was in no mood for trouble. He rested his hand on the handle of his Halberd in the sheath on his back, ready to draw it without a moments hesitation.
Valdori thought very carefully about what he was about to do. It was mistakes in situations like this that had created that had further feuled the lycan vampire war. "Stay youre hand" the stranger" I seek not your blade but youre counsel "what" said Vladori in genuine suprise.....
Pm'ed a mod about that...invasion. Just ignore him till he gets removed.
Elisha smiles darkly, "no...not yet, but after tonight we will know," she looks up at Eosphorous, "do you plan on helping? Or do you just want to know to protect Luther?"
Kaem lowered his hands and set his face with a grin as he walked towards a little sink and mirror area, decorated with glowing candles and brushes and cabinets.
"Ignored?... completely? who does she think she is?"
He thought to himself as he lowered his head into the sink, letting his face and hair brush up against the water, cleaning the blood, and the smell.
"So, angel, what is your purpose here?"
He asked incredibly casually compared to the situation of addressing her as an angel, but with a gentle voice, trying to fish up any information on her face, he had grown accustomed to first facial experience telling him all that needed to be said about the person, so he looked deep into her eyes as he asked.
"Kaem, Marcus, Valdori," Elisha states, watching the reaction of each in turn.
"Leave us be, please," she asks, more than just a simple request, the hint of authority tinting the "please" with a demanding tone.
I'm just trying to get you guys away so you can interact without waiting for the missing Kim (read: playing ME2) and as for the village...I totally fucked up with that one...I was hoping the "Lycan village" would plant the idea that it is theirs, but I realise it wasn't totally clear...but Sporky is right
Well me being here has certainly caused a commotion. Four vampires and one angel. Perfect. Eosphorous inwardly sighed then continued. "No, not just Luther, but also the innocent people that can, and most likely will, get caught in the cross fire. I'm not a big fan of humans.. or anyone for that matter.. But I do not want innocent lives to be lost."
I'm not missing.. I'm just not here a lot. xD (ME2 came out its not my fault. :O)
Then walked back up to his chambers, shutting the door softly behind him.
"An angel..." He whispered, a cruel sneer rolling across his mouth
What a joke He thought, as he slowly unclipped his mask, setting it neatly on the bed.
Once again, he felt the urges of bloodshed and violence begin to surface in him. Violent images flashed through his mind, almost overpowering him as his fingers slid across his terribly scarred face.
So he went for the violin, his output, and burst into a wild and furious song, unleashing his pain and violence on the strings
Jason sighed, hefting the body of the woman up on his horse. Grabbing his horses reins, he started off towards the sounds of clanging steel.
"Im guessing that way is the way the barracks are?" Jason suggested turning to face the lycan, "So how did you become a lycan? Not to be nosy of course, yet i've always found them quite fascinating."
Kaem totted at the remark of innocent lives lost but did as his princess commanded. He bowed and with a gentle "Certainly mi'lady" he walk backward till he reached the other door, turned around and headed downstairs once more. He had a coffin to clean.
"Aaaah, Marcus, it's like you read my mind sometimes"
Kaem said to himself as he picked up a cloth, soaked it, and began to caress the coffin, watching the streaks of blood gently squish into the cloth whilst up above a fearsome melody strode through his ears like gentle waves of emotion.
"It must be a terrible burden... is it?" Jason asked, stepping over a large log. "I was once saved by lycans... however unlikely that seems. They did so without knowledge i believe, and if we have time later i shall tell you of this... that is if you dont decide to kill me first."
