"Uh, theirs a town right next to the barracks where I'm staying. You could be able to walk up to it from there." Said Julian to the mysterious stranger. "You're welcome to follow us back there. My name's Julian and this previously naked fellow is Gregory." He finished before going back to the Maiden's body and picking it back up.

"If you're going to follow us back, would you mine if we placed the body on your horse? It be faster for us to travel that way."

"Of course, and if you would have me i would be glad to travel with you." Jason replied, grabbing the reins of his horse and leading it over to the guard.
"By the way my name is Jason Cole."

"I'm not entirely sure about this Luther. Think of it more as a hunch. But if a war between the two does happen.. Then I want you to stay here and protect the church."

Eosphorous rose from her seat. She looked into Luther's eyes and smiled. "Stay here while I go and speak to the blood suckers. Tell Gorie that I said hello." Making her way towards the door Eosphorous opened it and let herself out.

Marcus stopped playing for a moment.

The silence that followed came in the daylight was always so...interesting. Serene. Peaceful.

It brought back memories of his human life, and with that he began playing a sorrowful, painful tune. Slow and wailing in the daylight...

Ian carefully thought over his response to Ilkka's speech. "As lycans, we have simple needs: flesh and blood to consume. As immortals, we have none. Humans live short lives, fraught with weakness and need. They build cities to protect them and bring them together, to allow them to find enough food to sustain them each day. They fear us because their life is so easily taken, and while we may accept them, they will never accept us because of our hunger for them."

He held out his hand in front of him and followed the intricate, inked vines up his arm. "Humans wish to fill their lives with as many pleasures as they can create." he said, as if he were accepting of them, "They all seek pleasure in food or art, fine clothes and large cities, their hard work, or love." He dropped his arm down to his side, "Immortals aren't made slaves to their desires."

Ilkka nodded thoughtfully, rubbing his fingertips together slowly, getting used to the sensation of his human figure once more. "But yet, we still hide from them, do we not?"

His smile faded into an expression of simple contentment as his dark eyes drifted heavenward, tracing a flock of small birds as they swirled about the treetops. "Though their lives are short, they- as you mentioned- build communities, cities, that bind them together. Their families are massive, building together for a common goal. In this sense, I merely point out, it's likely they could be as strong, united, as we are. Given the right opportunity, at least."

The trees about them began to thin away, revealing more of the brightening sky. "By no means do I argue they are superior to us. They merely have... potential. For many great things. Which is why I fight to protect them from the evils of rogue lycans, humans, and vampires alike."

"You serve a noble cause." Ian observed, "But their potential can never be fully realized, because their first task will surely be to hunt the lycans and vampires until we are no more."

"Pity for those like us, who may never be fully accepted by either race."

Kaem arose from his coffin, his skin was cracking and blood leaked from his ears and mouth.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!"
He screamed so it echoed throughout the castle, the stone walls and halls echoing it further into the forest, the mighty roar of pure anger and insanity.

"NO! THAT BASTARD WILL TASTE DEATH BY NIGHT!"
He exhaled in a yell as he crawled up the steps from the basement, his fellow brother, Marcus, stood over him, gazing at him.

Kaem slowly got to his feet and stumbled out the words through the blood caking his mouth "My chamber, green vial, hurry..."

He collapsed on the floor, back to the stone cold wall, it was obvious he was in exquisite pain by the twitches on his face and the groaning, although the cracked skin was barely visible, the blood dripping from his mouth and ears said all that needed to be said.

... dead ... blood..
He whispered.

Marcus set down his violin and made his to Kaem's chamber.

Despite the large assortment of items scattered about the room, Marcus easily found the green vial and hurried back to his fallen brother

"Here you are brother"

Marcus whispered, handing the vial to Kaem

Nodding his head and smiling, Luther watched the angel leave.

"I will."

Moving to the door, he rebarred it, sealing the church against possible threats. As the beam dropped into place, his shoulders sagged and a huge yawn escaped his mouth. Trudging off, he walked to his rooms and fell soundly asleep, the black feather resting in the palm of his hand.

Eosphorous landed quietly in front of the castle the vampires resided in. It was daylight, so they'd either be asleep, or occupying themselves with something else.

"Should I barge in or knock?" Eosphorous thought for a few second before finally deciding to knock.

Hearing a knock at the main door, Elisha pulls her high cloak on, covering her skin from the sun.

After a few seconds she wanders down the hall, pushing the door open gracefully. The face she saw was not the one she expected.

"Ah, the angel, have you decided to change your 'holy' ways?" she asks lightly, a grin on her darkened face.

"You know its rude to not invite a guest in. You'd think that after so many years of being alive that you'd at least learn some manners." Eosphorous smiled thinly.

"Well, aren't you going to let me in? Or are we going to have to talk out here.. in the sun.."

"I warn you, the Brood is in a bad mood...so you may be in a bit of danger if you annoy them..." Elisha states, stepping to the doors side to allow Eosphorous entry.

Ilkka nodded slowly, in agreement. "Yes. Unfortunate that we cannot strive to live together. Numerous species have already been driven to extinction by our hands as well- survive of the fittest, I suppose?"

As they continued through the forest, feet softly rustling and stirring the fallen leaves and needles on the floor, the trees began to thin. In the distance, noticeable by the few curling strings of rising smoke, sat the village. Ilkka looked over the small human buildings, and seemed to judge it himself.

"...Nice," he said simply after a long moment. "You live here?"

Kaem snatched the vial from Marcus with shaky hands. As he drank it, the blood on his face and head started to stiffen and crack up, hardening, dying. The cracks on his skin began to fill as he rose to his feet and tossed the vial into the wall, shattering it.

"That bastard, Milton! When I found the girl dead there, I thought they had finally gotten to an understanding with... you know... taking a girl every week, only... I was wrong"

Kaem looked down and heard someone had entered.
"I shall make this brief, I entered the house and found the girl lying there, my good mood led me into drinking her blood without checking for pulse, and when that woman came in screaming, I knew I had been set up, no way they would've heard me, I made my way out, thinking they had merely set me up, I would never have dreamed of them actually murdering one of their girls... and the way it was all set up.."

Kaem looked at the door, separating the room they were in and the one Elisha and the Angel were in.

"I shall tell you more about this place later, my brother. Let us see who has entered our domain, for we are all here by my count, and dawn has broke"

With that, Kaem opened the double jointed doors, letting them swing to the sides, while he stepped inside with a grin on his face and hands in the air.

"Aaaah......you..."

"It is a pleasure to meet you Jason." Said Julian as he outstretched his hand to shake Jason's hand.

"We'd be happy for you to come with us into town, but we better get moving. This corpse is starting to stink and I want to get out of the forest before the men I was with find their way back to the barracks and send out a platoon to find my body."

"Are vampires ever in a good mood? You're always brooding." Eosphorous walked into the castle. It was dim, with only a few torches lighting the various hallways, and had beautiful furniture.

"Well you certainly have good taste."

"Brooding? We are a Brood of vampires, we're just annoyed the Lycans were hunting us last night..." she sighs a deep frown on her face instead of the normal smile.

"Tell us then, why did you come here?" she asks more than a hint of curiosity in her voice.

"I do, but I haven't been here long. Less than a year." Ian answered, looking about the village. Several lycans were milling about, lounging after the hunt of the night before. Some watched them suspiciously. A sudden thump and growl directed his attention off to his side. Two members of the pack were brawling in their wolf form, with a couple more spectating. The larger of the two had thrown the other into a wall and now was punching and clawing at him. Ian stopped so he could watch the outcome, since it was surely close.

After several more strikes, the smaller one lashed out and tackled his assailant. His tactic failed to knock the other off his feet, and the larger shrugged him off and delivered a strong hit to the chin. The smaller was sent sprawling and landed face-first on the ground, where he stayed, quivering.

Ian didn't wait around, he kept moving towards the building he was staying in. "It's nothing formal here, so you can just pick a spot and stay there, as long as nobody else claimed it first." I doubt anybody would challenge him, anyway. Ian thought.
If any other lycans want to get in on the posting as one of the fighters or spectators, it might give you a nice place to start.
