Usually when we think of Greatest Boss, it mostly is the Final Boss. So What is the Greatest Non-Final Boss in Gaming?

I liked The Helmaroc King in Zelda: Windwaker. Or Doctor Steiniman.

The Helmaroc for it's flashiness, and Dr Stieniman for is build-up through the bloody Hospital and the scene where you see him go even crazier.

Vs

Amazing, epic, emotive and finally being able to use a metal gear.Awesome.

...you're kidding me?
That is the most tedious boss in Zelda history (except that worm thing in the tower in Link to the Past).
If it weren't for that boss, Twilight Princess would be the best Zelda game.
I liked the way It played out. It was the bit where you're on the spinner and he's chasing you that made me love it.
To be fair I could have picked any boss out of that game cos I loved them all.

Was that the annoying boss in the sand temple? The thing was so fucking annoying. You had to beat it using one of the worst items I have ever received in a video game.

My vote goes to Twilit Dragon Argorok from Twilight Princess. That was just EPIC.

Or Mysterio from the Spiderman 2 game. You'll know why if you played.
Those were both fantastic. When Mysterio grew all big I was like, "Whoooooooa!"

Part of my vote would have to go with the water thing near the end of Act 1 in Final Fantasy VII. I had the water ring, so I just sat there listening to the music on the brink of tears. I like Colossus #5 in Shadow of the Colossus, but every boss in that game was sweet.

70 Man Battle + Terry, leader of the Mad Angels, from Shenmue 1 (Chai's the final boss). I mean, the scope of boss battle is only rivaled by the Collosi from Shadow of the Collossus. As for most interesting character that is a boss, Mysterio is cool, though I hate his linear portion. I hate that fun house. Other than him, Ogre Battle 64's apparent final boss, Danika, is actually the penultimate one, but the game is leading up to fighting the goddess of Hell. When you have to then turn around and kill all your allies for being major douches, it only gets more interesting. Simply finding out that she is not the last boss is awesome. Well, that, and she's a good at takes up 2/3's of the screen.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Luca Blight from suikoden 2, that was an epic fight, first your army destroyed his then you had to have 3 parties go at him till finaly it was a 1 on 1 fight with your main char
this is just part 1 of 4 and needless to say it contains spoilers

edit:its still epic but its better when the player groups arnt power lvled to make the fight easy

Freya or Lenneth from Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.
something about bosses being able to one-shot my party regardless of how powerful they are, just bring's a tear of happiness to my eyes, at a well crafted and frusterating boss battle
