That sounds like a rubbish boss fight to me. I would be seriously pissed off if I lost several hours of playtime like that.

Are you kidding??? Ghoat was too bloody easy. I beat him by standing at the door and shooting him with an arrow every time he ran by.

Goht. You didn't take the harder (slightly) and extremely fun option of rolling around the room dodging and spiking him up the backside? Fail to you, sir.

No, the fact that I could even do that means fail to Goht.

I couldn't agree more. The minute I realized I got to pilot REX I practically died of excitement. Then when I saw ocelot show up in RAY I practically pissed myself. It was amazing.

Naturally, another great non-final boss fight was the fight with psycho mantis from Metal Gear Solid.

Yeah, my first time fighting him I went in without the heat vision goggles. I got beat hard.

Hmmm...My brother's favorites are:
Team Galactic Boss Cyrus. I have to admit myself he's cool. Axel in Kingdom Hearts 2. Miror B. in both gamecube Pokemon games. He has the best theme music in both of them! ^^

My favorites...
Luxord, Sai'x, Demyx, and Grim Reaper in KH2. All had another part in the fight to be careful of, which made them different.
Damn, that all I can think of.
EDIT: Every boss in .hack//G.U. since they were all straight fights rather than puzzle crap in every other series.

Honestly, I would have been first. But Helmaroc King beat Volvagia as the greatest Boss.

If I can get away with an MMO answer the opera event in wow was great. It is a random encounter of either Romulo and Juliana, The crone (wizard of oz), or the big bad wolf.

If that doesn't count then I will go with the Twin wizard fight at the end of the spirit temple in Ocarina of Time.

No. The 3 encounters you can get are based on Romeo and Juliet, The Wizard of Oz, and Red Riding Hood
