The Blade Trilogy. These are actual vampires. Burn to death in sunlight, weak to silver and hate garlic. But whenever I see a review for it they say it was terrible, the acting was fine and the story while a little weak was good none the less because it had someone killing vampires. Unlike people now who only want to be bestest fwiends with the "vampires" and makes me want to see the Blade vs Twilight crossover film.

Black Snake Moan. Samuel Jackson pulls out a performance equal to if not greater than anything he has done before. It's an astonishingly good movie that got utterly stiffed when it was released.

Airplane is one of my favorite comedies, but almost no one has heard of it. The cast is good, the plot is... legible, and the jokes are obscure (good)
I love that movie. I was going to post a response that was just one of the jokes from it, but for some reason I can't remember the exact wording of any of them.

Phantom Menace

Not for movies in general mind you, but for the Prequel Star Wars.
Hey, Jar Jar is annoying, but if I have to suffer Jar Jar to get Liam Neeson, Dark Maul and a little Anakin, I'll take it!
I have something relevant [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxKtZmQgxrI] and funny to show you.

Anyway, for me, it would have to be Children of Men. It's my favorite movie ever, and anyone I've talked to who's seen it loved it, but most people haven't seen it.

Last Action Hero. It has possibly the best line ever (maybe not an exact quote):

Benedict: "If I snap my fingers again, you and Toto will be found in a couple of dog-rectums tomorrow. Any questions?"
Slater: "Yeah. Two. Why am I wasting my time on petty thieves like you when I could be doing something more dangerous, like reorganizing my sockdrawer? And two, how are you going to snap your fingers after I rip off both of your thumbs?"

Once Upon a Time in Mexico
From Dawn till Dusk
Planet Terror
(yes, Robert Rodriguez is an underrated director)
Hot Fuzz/ Shaun of the Dead
Goodfellas (especially compared to Godfather)
Nah, Once Upon A Time In Mexico was only good when Johnny Depp was on-screen, the rest of it was a bit meh, "I can't see, fucknook, I have no eyes". From Dusk Til Dawn was awesome though, "I NEVER SAID HELP US!" "Well that doesn't matter because you've got about 3 fuckin' seconds to live." (I thought it better to use that quote than the 'pussy list' from one of Cheech Marin's 3 roles in the film).

As far as underrated movies go, how many of you have ever heard of a little gem called 'Deep Rising'?

Hard Candy is one of my favorite movies, yet I've only met one other person who has seen it.

Also Funny Games, everyone I've watched that with gets extremely pissed towards the end and it's always fun to see your friends angry, isn't it?

GALAXY QUEST! It's just too good.

Also, Army Of Darkness only has a 2 star out of 5 rating on Allmovie.

They are fools, and shall die soon. That is all I shall say.

Pitch Black, a scifi classic in my opinion but I have only met two people who have seen it and one of them hated it
Yeah, that was a great movie, but it was far from a classic. It did have some pretty neat special effects, though.

OT: I honestly can not think of any, but my favorite movies are Saving Private Ryan, District 9, and Inglourious Basterds, if that counts for anything.

I don't know what kind of score Donnie Darko received but it is definitely a good movie. Also, the neigh unheard of A Boy and His Dog (Ok, well, Fallout fans have heard of it) is extremely good.
My Dad, and inspiration for my love of sci-fi, has been wanting me to see that.
So my answer is going to consist of two answers, one which is silly and one which is seriously just that good
This one horrid 1980's horror film called Sleepaway camp", which features some of the most rediculous death scenes every along with one of the weirdest plot twists ever. Besides a film in which someone asks "Hey Angela, how come you so fucked up?" can't be all bad, can it?

and the other is an animated sci-fi film called Titan AE, which features some awesome aliens, a mature plot and clever plot twists, and manages to say something and be epic at the same time.

Dog Soldiers: the guy who directed it, Neill Marshal, went on to do The Descent and Doomsday (both are also great), but Dog Soldiers kicks so much ass from beginning to end. Everywhere but the U.S. it got a theatrical release, but went straight to the Sci-Fi channel here, which was stupid.

The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra: A movie that spoofs crappy, '50's era B-movies by not actually parodying them. It got a 53% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it definitely is better than that.

Ok I got a ton, but theres two that are in my top 20 that not many people know about and are by the two greatest directors of all time.

The first is Mean Streets by Martin Scorsese, its his first collaboration with DeNiro and Harvey Kitel. I won't say anything more than it's like a prototype goodfellas thats almost as good.

The second is Barry Lyndon by Stanley Kubrick. God damn this movie is Epic. Right from the first shot I was blown away. It's a tale of an Irish lad's journey from rags to riches across Europe through war and romance. On a side note it's actually Mrty Scorsese's favourite Kubrick film.

Seriously if you love cinema (you've probably already seen these) then you have to see these films!

I think I'm going to have to go with Mallrats, it was pretty much universally panned because it was 'generic' after Kevin Smith's first film Clerks. I much prefer it for its offbeat sense of humour as well as having many random film/popculture references.
