This is a thread for gun owners! Not asking you why you feel it's necessary, not caring about your veiws on firearms laws!

So don't bring 'em up unless is absolutely necessary. This ain't gonna turn into a gun control debate thread, ya hear?

This thread is for something else.

Those of you who own guns, what's your favorite and why?

I honestly don't own anything myself, aside from various airsoft (I'm a poor bastard), but my older brother's recently bought himself a DPMS Panther (AR type rifle) and a Ruger 10/22 and I've shot both. The AR is... disturbingly entertaining to shoot.

For fathers day, we just gave my dad an 86 year old Mosin Nagant 91/30 that's never been LOADED, much less fired, with all accessories (including bayonet), and 800 rounds of 7.62x54mmR ammunition. I really can't wait to take that one to the range... I'll definitely report back THAT experience when I get it.

So what about you? What's your favorite? What's your dream gun if you don't already have it?

C'mon! Don't be shy, share your babies!

SEARCH WAS USED. Just so you know.

My favorite gun that I own is my WASR10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WASR_series_rifles
I love using it on paper targets and clay pigeons on the ground. Ammo has gotten expensive for it so now I only bring 60 rounds to the range at a time.

My dream gun is a Steyr AUG. I fired one and it was very cool. I also like the AR15 series guns like your brothers Panther. They are fun to shoot, but a pain to clean I've heard, and break more often then AK series. I prefer simplicity and reliability like my WASR10.

Shit man a 91/30 in pretty much perfect condition, you're a lucky guy. Just remember to wear some realy good hearing protection if it's an indoor range. First time I fired my 60yr old M44 I knocked down another guys target with the muzzel blast and the people outside of the soundproof door to the range heard it. They came in all pissed and asked me what caliber it was and I told them 7.62x54R so GTFO.

As soon as I get enough money I'm looking to buy a mil spec AR-15 with Troy Industries sights, upgraded BCM internals, VTAC two point sling, Magpul CTR-M stock and an undefined handgaurd. Also looking at A Kimber Desert Warrior because it looks like the mac daddy of all 1911s.

This thread just came to me and begged: "Please come inside and say the following: 'My penis'". I'm sorry I couldn't resist :S I wont point out my thoughts about weaponry and just leave very quietly.

You should have just not come here at all. I don't walk into a videogame thread and call everyone a fat, antisocial neckbeard. I understand that people have differing intrests than me and that it's foolish to try and pass judgment on another culture without knowing anything about it.

I don't own one at the moment, but I'm applying for my Shot Gun certificate at the moment, as I often go shooting with my mates. We usually use this: http://www.emmacustomrifles.co.uk/Pictures/Guns/IMG_20080707_0077%20Hatson%20Black.JPG a Hatsan Escort Semi-Auto which is ugly as sin, and not that great, or some generic over and under.

When I get my license, I really want one of these http://www.winchesterguns.com/prodinfo/catalog/itemimagedetail.asp?cat_id=513&type_id=052 Winchester 101 Field. Whether I can afford it is another matter :p

I'd love to get this piece of art. The Benelli Legacy Sport is just about the most beautiful firearm I've ever seen. A friend of mine is hoping to get one so if he ever does I'll tell you how it shoots.

I'm 16... If I can buy a gun, then I think my countries government is stupid for wondering why shootings are so high!

Don't say I don't know anything about guns, I do. You don't know me at all and you're taking my post way too seriously. If I hurt your feelings, I'm sorry (no sarcasm here), but I only made a fucking joke.
Besides, it takes some nerve to say that machinery that is made 90% for ending any sort of lifeform and 10% for aesthetics is a culture.
Edit: where did I judge anyone or anything in my previous post? I said that I wouldn't comment on the topic in a serious way since it would only end in a pointless fight noone can win.
See, now you made me, you should have just ignored my post in the way I'm going to with your upcoming ones.

Haha that made me laugh the M44 is one loud bastard. I was shooting at an outdoor range and the percussion was so big that it made a metal table nearby ring for a couple of seconds. I always laugh at Red Orchestra for its supposed realism when they do not even remotely simulate the flame and percussion of a M44 even remotely correct.

Now to my firearms I have a few but my favorite is definitely my Lee-Enfield #4 Mk 1 made in 1944. That bastard is fun to shoot and made me fall in love with the .303. I like my 91/30 it kicks like a mule and in pretty good condition factoring in that it has been around since 1927. My Yugoslavian SKS is a pile of crap though. I really love my Mossberg 500 12 Gauge though especially with the Home Defense Barrel. ;)

That's the one my dad owns, I think. Either that or it's a very similar one.

Glad you like it :D And that gun is amazing! It's a shame that Semi-autos aint really too big over here in the UK, they tend to get looked down on, but if someone bought me that I wouldn't be complaining :p

You can own a shotgun liscence, and therefore own a shotgun, at the age of 14 in the UK, Firearms certificates (for rifles, blackpowder weapons etc) you need to be 17 or 18 I think

I always hear about people having old Mosin Nagants. You're so lucky. I wish I had one of those.

I wish I had any gun. When I legally can I think I'll buy a nice pistol, just to have and shoot. Any suggestions?

Yeah, it might not be, a lot of Over and Under shotguns look pretty similar on the outside. But if that is the one, he's a lucky guy haha

That's true, I don't know you. It's also true that you don't know me, so I guess niether one of us can pass judgement eh? Anyway I'm truely sorry for snapping. It's just that every time a thread like this appears the first 30 or so posts are along the lines of:
A. You're all baby murders.
B. Only the perfect government should have guns.
C. My fancy martial art is more effective in home defense than your short barreled shotgun.
D. If we banned all guns then no one would commit crime anymore.
