All the indoor ranges in my area are completely packed 24/7 no matter when you go to 'em, so my brother found an outdoor range that's just amazing. Going there's like going to a park, trees EVERYWHERE. And there's no lines, there's no waiting, it's just completely empty, all the time. The most I've ever seen there is like, 3 other people. We've only had ONE person on the same range as us. It's just GREAT. And everything from 3 yard pistol to 1000yard rifle. Unfortunantly, long range precision weapons (Lupua, CheyTac, BMG, etc aren't allowed to to be fired there, seein' as there's a residential area within 3 miles of the end of the Km range, so...

Speaking of the CheyTac, I would LOVE to own one. They're ugly as hell, completely impractical for anything but wasting $6/shot, and $12,000, but damnit, I want one! =D

Aside from the CheyTac, I would love a Springfeild or Kimber single-stack 1911 with Pachmayr grips (http://fc05.deviantart.com/fs40/f/2009/026/6/e/Without_Purpose_by_Koeryn.png That gun, more or less, that's my airsoft), Snaiperskaya Vintovka Dragunova, and an AK variant rifle. My brother's got the AR, so getting another AR would be redundant. I may end up getting a P90 just to have, even if I think it's a crap gun by a crap company. I'm an HK fan boy. =p

My step dad owns a Semi-Automatic Mossberg shotgun, I made the mistake of firing it when it had slugs loaded in it >.<

As for favorite I've always like the FAMAS, but being an MGS fanboy I might be just a little biased.
Haha, same here! They're hard to get in the US though. France is a strange company, they've got some decent arms companies, but they export every piece of pretty they make.

Speaking of, added to the list 'cause I forgot it:

An Accuracy International L96 in .308Winchester. I have this strange love of bolt action rifles, they're just so... Fulfilling.

I'm actually against gun ownership outside of police and military but tbh if i could have any gun it would have to be a Colt.45 handgun, in my opinion the coolest handgun ever. For a rifle it would be an M4-Carbine.

Saying Colt .45, I'm assuming you're talking about a 1911 (That's what most people mean when they say Colt .45, but the 1911's not the only .45 caliber handgun Colt's come out with). Which model/variant do you like best? To be honest, there's a TON of them!

Aaaah a Mosin Nagant! I love that rifle. Very fun to shoot. I bought one, cleaned and refinished it. It's definitely my favorite rifle. Shoots very accurately and could easily rip into a man. Plus the ammo is cheap; on the other hand all 7.62x54R ammo is corrosive, just depends on the ammo. I used surplus at first(which is extremely corrosive) just to get used to how it shot then I switched to Silver Bear ammo(which was a lot less corrosive). And if you are looking for better priced firearms, depending on where you live, I would go to antique shops and pawn shops first(they have the best prices when it comes to firearms), then to sporting good stores and then to actual gun shops. Anywhoozle, hope your dad likes his Nagant.
Edit: Also the KRISS Vector SBR/SO?.45 ACP is a very nice carbine

I really love the three MKII Lee Enfield rifles my grandfather passed down to me. One has a custom scope mount, the other is a jungle carbine (with flath supressor), and the last is a (never fired) standard rifle. There's nothing like a good afternoon at the range, punching hole through 1/4 inch steel plates at 100 yards.

Then there's my Condor double-barrel shotgun (over-under). Does anyone else shoot trap?

I'm quoting this post, rather than the other, because I'm using a PS3 browser with limited typing space. I'd first like to say that the range you described sounds awesome. I feel your pain with the precision rifles to. Here in the rust-belt it's damn near impossible to find a long distance range, or hell just a range in general. Next I'd like to say that if you're low on cash don't buy a FN PS90. Shit I ran out of space. Will continue in pm.

My baby, my Glock 17. Lightweight, few moving parts, accurate- what more do you want?
A hogue grip makes it more comfortable to hold. Also a better grip angle like the springfield XD wouldn't hurt. Overall it's a good gun

My FN Five-Seven I just picked up. 20 bullets in a clip and no recoil, well-worth the $750 it cost me.
Is it a range gun or is it for defence? I'm not trying to make you doubt your purchase but I feel the need to tell you 5.7x28mm does not like to stop in the target's body. Aside from that congrats on the purchase. FNH consistently makes quality firearms and I'm rarely disappointed with them.

I want to know if anyone here has handled an FN Browning High Power? Usualy I'm a pretty strict .45 acp/gap kinda guy but, I've heard great things about it. Note: I like the single action, real smooth, so no interest in th HP-DA model.

Edit: Just found this out and it makes rage and laugh all at once. Apparently when HK gave in an decided to sell the Mk.23 mod.0 here in the U.S. they had to change the name to apply to the laws here. The thing is, they changed the name to the Mark 23 mod.0. It's the exact same thing! What's wrong with some people?

I bought it because it's a fun gun to shoot and it seemed like a good deal. The 12 gauge next to my bed is for self defense. If I get woken up in the middle of the night by a break in the less aiming I have to do the better.
Cool. Sorry for doubting you for a second. Other than that you're spot on about the FN Five-Seven being fun to shoot. 5.7x28mm has barely any discernable recoil and the 20 round magazine capacity is pretty nice to. Just make sure you tell me how to work that crazy internal hammer thing they have going on. I've never gotten a straight answer out of some one.

Probably the same people that won't let you sell an Armalite-style rifle in California with the standard pistol grip and detachable box-mags.
[spoiler:"CopyPasted blog post + Giggles]
"So called "Assault Weapons Bans" such as the now expired 1994 Clinton ban and the one still in place in states such as California seek to ban rifles that our misguided legislators feel have no purpose in civilian hands. They identify "evil features" they can use to generically classify these "military style" weapons in sweeping terms. Of course these features, such as plastic pistol grips, barrel shrouds, and bayonet lugs have absolutely nothing to do with the firearms potential lethality in the real world and are merely cosmetic features. After all, it really doesn't matter what color the firearm is if it fires the same ammunition right? Well, in the "spirit" of the California Assault Weapon Ban I decided to do my best to alleviate the fears of my fellow citizens and gun-banning legislators when I put together a new AR-15 for my wife. Below is the result of my painstaking work to transform an Evil Black Rifle (EBR) into a Cute Pink RIfle (CPR). Introducing the Hello Kitty AR-15!"

i prefer the way it is but i see where you're coming from. not a bad idea. my G17 is an older model without a hogue or finger grooves, and it wouldnt sit right in my belt line with a hogue on it. i'm also used to the more angled glock grip as opposed to the straighter XD, but you can always change the way you hold it. a valid arguement though, sir. i commend you.

When I turn 21 I'll be getting a MK23.
When I save up enough money I'll be getting a Thompson, and a PS90.
