I can't own a firearm, stupid UK laws!
yes you can, I'm in the process of gettin one, and a few of my mates already own guns.
I'm 16... If I can buy a gun, then I think my countries government is stupid for wondering why shootings are so high!
its funny because most shootings occur with people 28 years old and up

Edit: I also feel the need to point out how bullshit some firearm laws are here in New York. For instance I can't buy a 30rd magazine unless it was made before 1984. What the fuck is the difference between a pre 84' 30rd STANAG and a new 30rd PMAG?
It's probably a grandfather law. It wasn't always illegal, and someone in 1984 probably passed a law with an addendum to preexhisting firearms. That'd be my guess.

My favorite gun that I own is my WASR10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WASR_series_rifles
I love using it on paper targets and clay pigeons on the ground. Ammo has gotten expensive for it so now I only bring 60 rounds to the range at a time.

My dream gun is a Steyr AUG. I fired one and it was very cool. I also like the AR15 series guns like your brothers Panther. They are fun to shoot, but a pain to clean I've heard, and break more often then AK series. I prefer simplicity and reliability like my WASR10.
I didn't know you could purchase automatic weapons. Were do you get them or are you in the army or something
you can get anything you want as long as you have the permit

of course you can get it without the permit all you need to do is stand on the US Mexico border and wait for a drug and gun seller to come by.
My WASR10 is actually a semi auto. Still a lot of fun :p

The AUG I fired belonged to a Class 3 dealer.

Hunting license?
Shotgun certificate. For shotguns, unsurprisingly...

For rifles you need a Firearms Certificate. Not sure what the laws on hunting licenses are. I think you need permission from a landowner to shoot certain types of game on their land. I don't think we have hunting licenses as such in the UK.

A thompson is gonna run you a serious amount of cash. A proper working one can easily reach 15,000$ at auction.
Yeah I know, when I was researching it I almost passed out when I saw the price.

My God I'm so jealous right now :D

I wish I lived in the USA, just for the firearm laws haha, no semi auto rifles or handguns for us Brits :(

I would love me one of these:

Taurus Raging Bull in .44 Mag

But I will soon be the proud owner of a Beretta Over and Under shotgun... Now I just have to find one I can afford...

I've thought about buying a handgun, and training with it. The way the economy is running, I want to be ready for the rising crime rates with a little self protection. I haven't really decided on a specific gun, but I think a .45 pistol would be in my range. USP, or a sig. I dunno. I'm not to knowledgeable about firearms to really say.

My favorite is my Benelli m3T. I got it for... I want to say self defense but that would be a lie.

While I don't own a gun at the moment, I do plan on buying a revolver for defense purposes.

Also because I have a serious revolver fetish.
This.

God I'd like a .44.
Me too. See one of my earlier posts for the specific .44... It looks like a frikkin' artillery gun :D

You 2 are aware that .357 and .44 are just calibers, not guns right? There are hundreds of guns made to fire these rounds, made by many different companies.

While I've fired handguns before, I don't currently own one, though I would like to (need to save up). When I have the chance, I would like to get this particular number in .40S&W:

Why .40S&W? For me, that's a good balance between the .45 round's stopping power and the 9mm round's lower recoil and greater ammunition load potential. The 24/7's magazine can hold 15 .40S&W rounds, which isn't bad at all. I've been reading up on this weapon and it's gotten a lot of good talk about its reliability and ease of use.

In the medium-range future I would love to go into competitive shooting, but I'm already 33 years old, and while my reflexes and eyesight are as sharp as ever, my body is, as described in medical terminology, "falling apart".

This is a thread for gun owners! Not asking you why you feel it's necessary, not caring about your veiws on firearms laws!

So don't bring 'em up unless is absolutely necessary. This ain't gonna turn into a gun control debate thread, ya hear?

This thread is for something else.

Those of you who own guns, what's your favorite and why?

I honestly don't own anything myself, aside from various airsoft (I'm a poor bastard), but my older brother's recently bought himself a DPMS Panther (AR type rifle) and a Ruger 10/22 and I've shot both. The AR is... disturbingly entertaining to shoot.

For fathers day, we just gave my dad an 86 year old Mosin Nagant 91/30 that's never been LOADED, much less fired, with all accessories (including bayonet), and 800 rounds of 7.62x54mmR ammunition. I really can't wait to take that one to the range... I'll definitely report back THAT experience when I get it.

So what about you? What's your favorite? What's your dream gun if you don't already have it?

C'mon! Don't be shy, share your babies!

SEARCH WAS USED. Just so you know.
where did you get it im trying to find me a springfield sniper rifle (i havent looked much but i still would like to own one) that and i dont buy things off ebay

Depends on the situation.

Home defense I use a Mossberg 590.

Carry, I use a Ruger SP 101 chambered for .357 and .38 special.

For fun I use the AR-15, Makarov (cheap ammo) or S&W .500 (because it's just huge).
