I don't own any (i'm 15), but if I did, I'd want a GLOCK 31 and/or an HK SL8. My dad has a ruger 77/22, and a .243 ruger no. 1, both of which are great fun to shoot

Well my dad has a hunting rifle and a double-barreled shotgun both of them really vintage. The shotguns is over 100 years old and has barely been fired. The hunting rifle, a 7,62 mauser, is around 60-80 years old. It would surprise me if it as fired more than 100 shots. Apart from firing them and cleaning them they are completely untouched. If someone tells me how to upload pics i'll be glad to share some.

I've thought about buying a handgun, and training with it. The way the economy is running, I want to be ready for the rising crime rates with a little self protection. I haven't really decided on a specific gun, but I think a .45 pistol would be in my range. USP, or a sig. I dunno. I'm not to knowledgeable about firearms to really say.
USPs are expensive as hell, becuase they're Heckler and Koch. If you find one for less than a grand, you're doing GOOD.

As for the Nagant, I believe it was purchased either from GunBroker or Texas Gun Trader.

If you want a .45, I'd personally go with a Springfield Armory. I'm actually looking at the Mil-Spec right now ($769 new with holster, 2 magazines), and will probably buy it when I can afford it. 'Course when I DO buy it, I'm going to want to do the CCL licensing right with that.

My M1 Garand is my favorite rifle. Though my Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1 is a close second.

Well my dad's got a Tauras 9mm. It's like the Baretta, but lighter and easier on your hands. He's thinking of getting something smaller for concealed carry.

On a different note, I saw a gun that looked like the Ambassador from TF2, minus woman engraving. It was a huge silver revolver that looked like it would leave your face nailed to the wall from the force of the bullet. I also saw a smaller gun in the same style called The Judge. He rules you...guilty

I may end up getting a P90 just to have, even if I think it's a crap gun by a crap company. I'm an HK fan boy. =p
What makes the P90 a crap gun and why is FNH a crap company? The P90 is primarily used for counter terrorism/VIP protection by 31 countries world wide including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, U.K, and the US. FNH is responsible for the Browning High Power, the first pistol to use the short recoil action on a link-less barrel, which nearly all modern handguns are based off of (including the USP). Today FNH manufactures 70% of the small arms used by the US military, from M4s to M2s, and also owns both WInchester and Browning. Recently the FNH SCAR-L out performed the HK 416 in the SOF Combat Assault Rifle trails and has already started replacing M4s in SOF. Unlike HK, FNH doesn't hate civilians. In addition to the PS90 and FS2000, they released the civilian friendly SCAR 16S. HK has no intention of releasing a civilian version of the XM8, G36, or MP7. HK is going to release the civilian version of the 416 (a gas piston AR-15 w/ an HK sticker on it) but they have designed it to be incompatible with standard AR-15 lowers.... so the only way to use it is to buy the entire $3500 rifle. I also forgot to mention the fact the FNP series of handguns are on par with USPs in every aspect, FOR HALF THE FUCKING PRICE.

You may love HK, but HK thinks you suck and hates you

I've got no illusions as to HKs civilian 'customer service'. I just prefer the great majority of their firearms. Like I said in my previous post "...I think it's a crap gun from a crap company." Think = opinion, and opinions, for whatever reason, are hardly going to be similar in every person you talk to. It's an irrational dislike, and I'm unsure as to why you're so butt-hurt over it. o_O

Almost as bad as the AK VS AR fanboys.

My Grandfather has an assortment of old classics, so far I've only tried a few rifles and a M1 Garand though.

Thanks for explaining what an opinion is, I've been struggling with that word for quite some time now. I understand that you have an irrational disdain for FNH, thats the entire reason why I started posting in this thread. I don't understand how anyone could ignore all the facts and criticize a company just because of an irrational bias. For instance, I don't like the DAO trigger on glocks. when people ask me how I feel about glocks I don't say OMFG GLOCKS R TEH SUXXXXSS!!!11!1. I know that glocks aren't teh suxxxxss because they are used by many LEOs and by many citizens for CCW, so logically they are decent firearms. Maybe its just me, but I can't comprehend the thinking behind it. Anyways I've hijacked this thread long enough so here are my guns.

My favorite gun out of my small arsenal...?

That's a tough call. I love all my guns for different reasons. I think my favorite out of the bunch is my AK47, simply because I put it all together myself from a Romanian G parts kit, refinished it, etc. Though my Romak-3 is always with me when I go to the range, 'cause the ammo is cheap and plentiful (thank the Soviets for 7.62x54R!)

Edit: Forgot to write the reasons why I got 'em! The AK I got because the price was right -- there was an organized group buy on the parts plus a build party. The Romak-3 I got because I wanted a semi-auto 7.62x54R gun. The real Dragunovs were way too expensive, and I couldn't find an SVT-40. Though I would still totally buy an SVT-40 if I could.

After firing the Nagant, wow. Much prefer the 91/30 over the AR-15. It's probably just a tie-in to my love of bolt action rifles, but yeah. So much more fun for me.
