I recently bought a Glock 27 as an alternative to the S&W M&P .40 compact I have been carrying. It is actually a bit lighter. Slightly longer but smaller over all. It fits nicely in a pancake holster on my belt. Easily concealed.

And yes I always carry a gun on myself. Either on my belt, or in winter I much prefer to wear a larger weapon with an under arm holster. Usually nothing bigger then a full size gun, the compacts and sub compacts are nice, but they get really inaccurate really quick due to the ridiculously short barrels they have.

My favorite gun will probably have to be my first. I always have been partial to shotguns anyway. My first gun was a Mossburg 500, I have three barrels for it, and the pistol grip for it. No other gun I own has been fired by me as many times as that one.

Then again I am a gun nut, even made the club for it - Hint, hint, plug [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/chat/Gun-Nuts].
Joined your group. Hope that's okay

I own a few-

J.C. Higgins model 200 pump shotgun in 12 gauge--my bird gun

Remington 788 carbine in .308--my deer rifle

And my two target pistols for use in NRA Conventional Pistol:

A Colt 1911 frame with a Marvel conversion unit--for .22 matches. This gun will put 5 rounds in .683 of an inch at 50 yards.

A Springfield Custom Shop .45--for CF and .45 matches. It'll hold X-ring at 50 yards. I love this gun :D

How would you say that a .17 compares to a .22?

I've looked at quite a few .17's lately, and I'm wondering of I get one, or stick with one of the .22 I have, when it comes to hunting or target shooting.

.22 is a bigger bullet, but if you look at some of the bullets for a .17, I think they have more gunpowder. It's up to you, really.

As I am a near 15 year old in the UK, I'm not allowed, and probably will never get a gun.
However, if I could get one, I'd get the sexiest thing ever.

'Cos what gun is manlier than a Shotgun?

Desert Eagles are... Eh. They're horribly inaccurate. The only thing they really have going for them is the fact you can shoot through cinder block walls without really harming your (lack of) accuracy. Well, that, and they're heavy. If you run out of bullets, you can always hit them with it. =p

True. But for sheer sexiness of look, you cannot beat it.

I dunnio, I prefer the sleek lines of the Jericho 941. And you can never go wrong with the good old-fashioned Colt .45s. =p

EDIT: I just found Sarsilmaz CM9. They're not bad looking at all. :O

True, but I prefer chunky stuff. Stuff that seems lethal without any bullets.

Then the Desert Eagle and Smith and Wesson 500 are the ones you want. Easily able to crush the skull with a single swing. =p

C96 Mauser. Why is it my favourite well look at it and you'll know:
Sorry but what service does the sight serve?
Well you look down it and you see your target. Like every other sight...?

The thing sticking out of the top is just the clip/ stripper clip thing. You push down on the rounds and they go into the magazine, then you pull the metal strip out, and your good to go.

My Remington 700 30-06, plus my Beretta Tomcat .32 ACP (it's tiny!). Ruger 10/22 is pretty fun too.
Ruger 10/22s rock. =D They've also got nearly as many modifications and extra stuff for them as AR type rifles...

The grips are amazing! They are made from G-10 fiberglass and are very comfortable. The grooves significantly reduce the felt recoil and I'll be buying a pair for every one of my future 1911s. More info can be found here: http://www.wilsoncombat.com/g10starburst.asp
