Guns again. Post your favourite, fictional or real.

I'd like to get myself a Lee-Enfield one day, or a Sterling. Or a Bren, or a Sten. Or a Mosin-Nagant. Or an MG42. I don't know why, but a lot of more modern firearms look so boring by comparison. I think it's all the attachments and featureless black plastic.

I've got a thing for the M1 Garand and, in general, most of the WW2 bolt actions/rifles.

There's just something about them that make me tingle a little. And no matter what, if they're in any shooter I'm playing, I will use them. Rising Storm is like porn for me when I rarely play it.

Well, lets start with what I have...

This is a Beretta Neos. It fires .22LR.

It is a piece of shit. But it was cheap, and shooting it is fun. But it's 100% crap. Would suggest anyone looking for a plinking pistol look elsewhere.

This is a Kimber 1911, .45ACP (Can't find a picture of mine at the moment, and I don't feel like digging it out and snapshotting it). It is not crap. Shoots like a dream. Pretty expensive though - Probably not worth the price I payed.

Still, love it.

not that interested in owning a gun but I really think the scar H looks good. I saw the scar L a few weeks ago in a gun shop when my friend went to buy a second hand variant of the ar15.

The as50 and m107 are also impressive instruments of death

I own a mosin-nagant and a bolt-action .22. And they're cool I guess.

But you know what I really want? That's right!

I've always been a fan of the Thompson machine gun. Drum or not, I've always wanted on. That, and a M-16.

As for made up weapons, can I have a Stormtrooper blaster? As well as the rebel commando blaster? And Han's blaster?

I badly want a bolt action rifle some day. There's a shop nearby that has regular specials on Mosin Nagants that bring them down to nearly affordable, so some day I will have one of those. But beyond that, there's a gorgeous wood stocked Remington that I would love to have:

The most gun I've ever gotten my hands on was a Webley ValueMax .77 calibre air rifle. Well, I think it was that. There are so many black polymer break action air rifles on the market it's hard to tell them apart. Regardless, that was plenty for me.

I think it's interesting how while the M3 looks like a cheap replacement for the Thompson (and it is), it's actually better in many respects as well. It just looks like junk.

Personally, I like the look of the Cop 357.

being Australian, I'll likely never actually own a gun (nor am I actually interested)
But
If Airsoft gets legalized here (which will probably never happen)
I'd absolutely get a replica of a Heckler & Koch G36C
I just think it's hands down the sexiest gun I've ever laid eyes on

Good luck firing that, or rather good luck healing your wrist/arm/chest afterwards.

Depending on the fluff, it might come out at low velocity and the rocket motors kick in afterwards.

I used to have one of these:

Only gun I've ever fired. But I eventually decided that military service was too much of a pain in the ass to keep doing and switched to civil service instead. Still, shooting was really the only part of that whole circus which wasn't garbage.

What is low velocity for a 1" rocket projectile with relatively short barrel anyway?

IIRC a bolter is 0.75 calibre, which is about the same size as 12 gauge. In any case, unaugmented humans can fire a bolter, and then fire it again soon after with some chance of hitting, so low enough not to injure.

You are remembering correctly but there are different sizes, so yeah 0.75 could work, the ones that are bigger could pose a huge a problem even with an electronic firing system, god, I started reading up on the possible technical workings of them.

Why would an electronic firing system make a difference?

In any case, IIRC, anything larger than a 0.75 was in a crew served weapon, equivalent to a medium or heavy machine gun usually requiring a bipod at least.

In any case, no idea how much a bolter shell weighs. There used to be 0.75 muskets, IIRC, but the shot was 0.75 in length as well.
