If I ever actually buy myself a gun, I very much hope it will be a Colt SAA.
Aside from owning what's probably the ultimate piece of Americana, I want to know exactly what it's like to actually fire one of them. It'll probably knock me on my ass - but I still wanna do it!
Gotta say, though, I also have a soft spot for the Mauser C96.
This was the first semi-automatic handgun to be mass produced in any significant numbers, but the most remarkable thing about it is still the construction. There are no screws or pins anywhere in the actual mechanism, and the weapon can be completely dismantled without tools of any kind. It's like a puzzle that can kill people!
(Incidentally, Han Solo's blaster started its life as a non-firing replica of one of these.)
