I take it a little trilogy fear?Mikeyfell said:In all honesty I don't want episode 3 to come out.
The last 4 times I wanted to play a game that had a 3 in the title, they were concurrently the worst 4 experiences of my life to date.
As much faith as I have in Valve, I don't want to even risk having that dashed. So I will never play episode 3. Or Half Life 3, or Portal 3, or Left 3 Dead, or Team Fortress 3...
To be fair, it could go on sell after the collapse of the world economy and it'd still become the highest selling game ever.TimeLord said:Your math is off, I calculate 29th of February 2029Durgiun said:It should be out around... 32nd of May 2015.Midgeamoo said:Quick, somebody apply the the Valve time conversion algorithm to the 31st December 2012!
OT: I call fake. Until it is officially on Steam I will not believe random sites who claim it's release after Christmas. Seriously, why would they release it after Christmas?

Assuming it's real (and I don't think it is), it could be some clever tactic to avoid the cluster fuck of games and other merchandise jockeying for position on people's christmas shopping lists around that time.MiracleOfSound said:Why the fuck would any dev release a game right AFTER Christmas. This is an elaborate fake.
Don't know but I'm really scared for Sleeping Dogs.Mikeyfell said:When are we going to get some new IP's?

It's no secrete that third installments are usually not as good as the first 2 but this generation of gaming has taken it to a whole new level of mediocrity.
I'm also scared to play Assassin's Creed 3, but getting disillusioned with Ubisoft isn't nearly as terrifying as realizing Valve can make mistakes.

Thus completing our plan to rule the world!artanis_neravar said:No no no, he is just going to release to stores without saying anything. One day you will be walking through Target (or what ever store) and see a wall of Half Life 3's. No one will know it's coming, not even the store, they will just get a random shipment of HL3Operation Genesis said:I have a theory that one day, Gabe Newell is going to walk into a really crowded room one day, pull the only copy of Half Life 3 to ever be made out of his jacket, and throw it into the crowd and laugh as they tear each other apart trying to get it.Soviet Heavy said:Except it's after Christmas, and when someone puts 31st of December as a release date, that means it's almost guaranteed to be delayed.TheIronRuler said:Wait for Christmas.Zhukov said:I shall indulge in hope when I click on that New Game button.TheIronRuler said:.Zhukov said:Another day, another HL2Ep3 rumour.
Some things never change.
I received it as a part of my newsletter subscription, I'm really hoping this is real!
Until then, all things related to Ep3 are mere illusions.
.
I can see why they would have it on Christmas, Y'Know, to maximize profits.Soviet Heavy said:The very last day of the year? Yeah, tentative is putting it mildly. If a release date is projected for december 31st, 2012, we can expect it i 2015.TheIronRuler said:Hello escapists!
This is exciting news! I got my email newsletter from GameSpot, and it stated that Half Life 2 Episode 3 has a release date, at 31-12-2012, 2012 Christmas!
Please, those that have any information to help me with this one step forward, I don't know if this was a slip-up and they released it by accident or someone is trying to fuck with me!

(The guy on the forums isn't me, he's just another person that got the same email newsletter)
Either that, or Valve is trying to throw us off. Remember how Episode 1 and Two only got publicity maybe a month before they were released? It almost came out of nowhere, suddenly there was stuff about Half Life again, and it was coming next week! I expect Valve to do something like that.
"hey, us, Gabe Newell here, and uh, we know you guys have been waiting a long time, so, uh, it releases next friday."

Hopefully you only mean recent games, because the Return of the King kicks the pants off The Fellowship of the Ring.
