I've never played the first (too young; no copy; don't want to buy off Steam as I now have a widescreen and the res fucks every game over 5 years old up).

I'm sure you have been told but the black mesa mod sounds right for you when it finally comes out

Yeah it was meant to be out for Christmas but no word of it yet.
I played the first about a month ago because i realised i'd never finished it and what i noticed most is compared to half life 2 it feels really weird so you're probablly best sticking with the wiki entry for now.

Well.... I started all of them, but I'm one of these bad people that never finishes games. I get stuck/bored and move on to something else. Possibly why I'm attracted to Online games, as theres no "finnishing" (unless you count maxing out characters in MMOs)

Half life 2 was good. I played the first one and juist found that for the whole experience I just wanted it to be over. I got to Xen but lost all my data, I don't think it's worth a replay and think that although in its day it was hot shit it now brings nothing to the table.

I've played Half Life 2 on Xbox and PC. I prefer the Xbox version.
