But what alien enemy and what cliche' plot elements? It is these details that matter!Arkvoodle said:It will have some form of Spartans, some form of alien enemy, at least two traditional sci-fi cliche plot elements and teabagging.
Or go forward to halo 4 style multiplayer.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:Sprint is fine, I just hope they drop the jetpack and shield nonsense. Twas absolutely terrible in Reach. Lets hope Halo 4 goes back to Halo 3 style multiplayer.oZode said:So just because I can go twice the speed for ten or so seconds the competitive and even 'casual' atmosphere is broken?Skin said:Halo needs sprint as much as it needs iron sights. It just slowed down the gameplay and was one of the few big reasons that caused the downfall of competitive (and even casual) Halo.oZode said:So just because a AA you don't like and a annoying enemy type is in the game the deal is broken?Skin said:All I need to know is if sprint and The Flood are in it. If either of those things are in the game, I will not be making a $60 purchase.
I guess I should take halo reach back to game stop and get rid of it because the plasma cannon is underpowered.
See how stupid saying stuff like that is?
And besides, sprint would be very useful with all the giant forerunner structures and all.
Having sprint decreases the skill gap as it effects jumping and all other movement speeds (strafing, ehem). It is not necessary, and should NOT be in H4.
You can't shoot while sprinting nor strafe. Sprint at someone with an assault rifle and you would get ripped to shreds (if you are dumb enough to sprint while being shot at, that is). Sprint makes the game go faster and gets you to the fight sooner from what I have seen. If you try to sprint away, someone can always get out a precision weapon and kill you in one headshot (which is easy to get with the pistol).
I think it wouldn't effect halo 4 much, and besides by then there will be some other thing to complain about! Like that new, stupid armor ability that breaks the game! Or that new overpowered forerunner weapon that may or may not be in the game! Or perhaps the new foes have some irritating flying foe that pisses you off to no end? Maybe the story has a massive, gaping plot hole?
Who knows?
Why not just play it on the console? Does it really matter? What matters is the game itself and not what platform it is on.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:And do a PC port half a year after release.
Well to be fair while immune you pretty much can't do a thing and are a sitting duck. Armor lock did get nerfed to the point where your shields and health don't regenerate while you are armor locking and sticky grenades still stick to you. And call of duty doesn't have invincibility or anything like that (juggernaut suit tells everyone where you are), just giving people who shoot first more shiny rewards that can be very annoying if it can bark.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:When I say skill based I mean gun on gun without bullshit like "Slam your hand on the ground and gain immunity for 10 seconds" thrown in. We dont need Halo to go down the road COD followed.oZode said:Why not just play it on the console? Does it really matter? It should be good and skill based, while not making the game impossible to play unless you play for years to be able to kill anyone.
And why not play it on console? Because PC is my preferred platform and has advantages I consider to be greater than a consoles. Sue me.
Well, it doesn't. However it seems some people think it does so I have to ask them the rhetorical question.Somonah said:Really? You have to ask if it matters if someone plays an FPS on console or PC?oZode said:Why not just play it on the console? Does it really matter? That could be interesting, but I only can see this thoroughly happening with the alien weapon set, because different aliens mean different weapons.Gorilla Gunk said:I'm hoping they redesign almost everything from the ground up, especially the weapons.
Isn't Halo a Xbox360 exclusive, and one of the main reasons people buy 360's? No way it gets a port.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:When I say skill based I mean gun on gun without bullshit like "Slam your hand on the ground and gain immunity for 10 seconds" thrown in. What? Hell no. It doesn't need iron sights, it works like it is.Burntpopcarn said:The game will need aiming down sights, new guns and an assault rifle that isn't an F2000. Fuck dat ugly gun shit!

So you really believe control pads are on the same level as mouse and keyboard (specifically concerning FPS)?oZode said:Well, it doesn't. However it seems some people think it does so I have to ask them the rhetorical question.
It was a multitude of things that made Reach "bad". Poorly implemented bloom was one of those things, AA is another, slow movement speed and poor jump height another, no ranking 1-50 ranking system was another, poor weapon balance another, etc.godofallu said:Should be skill based, but not too skill based. Great. I don't think the problem with Reach was the abilities, it was the rifle bloom.
