Hmmmmm... Well, *Cracks knuckles* let's see what I've got.
[HEADING=1]Mulitplayer:[/HEADING]
1. What you've got is okay, but is sort of rough around the edges. Take my favorite weapons, plasma weapons. They're absolutely TERRIBLE in Reach. You have to lead your shots with the rifle, and a full force firing from the repeater isn't enough to kill an enemy most of the time, and pausing to cool it down will more often than not get you dead.
2. The core gamemodes are okay, but add in some sillier ones. Action Sack is a good start, but I was thinking matchmaking custom games. You open a lobby for Fat Kid, and then people start to join. Since getting Reach, I really haven't played a good custom game; it's just never come together.
3. From what the trailer showed me, it appeared that Master Chief placed something on his gun. Attachments would be fine and all, but how about making them along the lines of the armor abilities from Reach? Instead of armor lock, how about carying a scope for the BR that you can take on and off.
4. Give us the ability to play as the elites in every gamemode, or give us a separate playlist for purely elite game modes. Same thing could apply to brutes, or whatever other species they decide to put in.
5. Halo Wars was onto something with the sentinel factories in their multiplayer maps. Perhaps it would work better for an RTS, but maybe giving us Forerunner and Precursor units like the Engineers or Sentinels for use as automated turrets or support troops.
6. Open roam would be nice, and how about an entire world that could be roamed, along the lines of a first person MMO, where the battle lines reset either when a certain time passes, or the objective of wiping out all resistance is completed.
7. Make Spartans look more comfortable. In Reach, half of the guys looked like they were too weighed down to move, and it just ended up looking kinda stupid.
8. Give the last man standing on the team super powers. If everyone else on a team quits, give that guy three times over shields, and two times damage. Give him a shot at holding the line.
9. Make automatic weapons, especially plasma, a viable tactic. The DMR outclasses the AR in pretty much every way in Reach, and I kind of got peeved when it could take me out in close range when I had the weapon that was supposed to outclass it in close range. Maybe that's my skill, but in general automatic weapons need to be buffed quite a bit.
10. Bring back fire. This was a weird thing I noticed was missing from Reach, fire. What happened to it? I thought the flame thrower and the incarceration grenades in 3 were awesome.
[HEADING=1]Firefight:[/HEADING]
11. Give us the ability to play as Elites or Brutes against A.I. controlled marines and Spartans. This could be defending, or attacking.
12. Bigger parties, and bigger maps. All around, give us the option to call in more buddies to take on more baddies.
13. Make automatic weapons dangerous. I know this is kinda a repeat, but in Firefight, it's needed more than it is in multiplayer. Even low level Grunts take about half a clip to the chest to drop! That's just stupid. It's 32 armor piercing rounds fired one after another, it should be dropping the crowds. The only time the AR, Plasma Repeater or Plasma Rifle were worth anything in Firefight that I could see was on the mode where everything, including damage, was doubled.
14. Traps maybe? Environmental hazards we could turn on the enemy. Maybe something similar to the Engineers and Sentinel idea I drafted up for multiplayer.
15. Give us new enemies, like maybe the flood. Or how about we fight marines as part of war games. Rubber bullets mind, but still the same basic effect.
[HEADING=1]Campaign:[/HEADING]
16. Let us take down big things. Something I noticed from Reach was that you never took down a Scarab. This felt odd to me, and all in all, I felt that taking down a Scarab would've been a much better end boss than a turret section.
17. Make the enemies scary. This doesn't mean that you have to make them scary in an attempt to get our hearts going, but I was thinking more along the lines of making the idea of them, their strength, their tactics, their drive, and their scope, a scary thought to go against. Give us a really badass fighting force to go up against.
18. Maybe give us a clear end goal. Something we want to achieve from the start, like maybe getting to the things in that ship's home world and laying siege to it. I don't know, but a sense of purpose throughout the next trilogy would feel nice.
