I hope they keep the Reach changes.

- Whackier Guns, by halo 3 a lot of the halo weapons started to fall into the "samey" trap.
- Master Chief actually spends time talking, and we get to know his character
- A completely new enemy. As much as the covenant were cool, I think it's time they stopped fighting humanity. Absolutely NO Flood please please please. (and make forerunner interesting)

Erm...slightly confused, actually. Not a halo player, so not entirely sure... Wasn't Halo 3 the big wrap-up-of-the-plot game in the series? Hence why they went ODST and Reach?
Yes... Yes it was.
But now since the company who made the last many Halo's have left Microsoft.. No one is there to stop MS's plan to make it into the "next COD".

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I would rather not see master chief again, I would rather it be about the arbiter putting down the last of the covenant and then maybe looking for the master chief.

In my humble opinion, Halo should have been done for for 5 years now.

As it happens, the developers of the original 5 Halo games (Bungie) HAVE moved on. This is being handled by another developer.
Mhm. That is why I didn't mention Bunjie. They flogged the dead horse, yes, but they moved on eventually.

I was referring to the new developers.

I'm not too confident in 343 industries at the moment. It seems that with Halo: CE Anniversary, they upgraded the graphics, added some skulls and data logs, and called it a day. It would have been nice if they could have fixed some things that didn't work so well, like the pathetic AI.
it was a remake, and the AI was alright tbh

and just so people know while 343 is not part of bungies, most of the people in it were from the halo team

Nothing would be funner for me than dual-wielding Needlers like in 2. Also, the recyclable armor utilities were a nice touch for Reach, but I feel it could have been handled better.

I don't know what the game devs were thinking with Armor Lock; I don't find it plausible that a Spartan's shield systems can do that while also simultaneously regenerating shields. I feel it should drain your shields during use, and prevent you from recharging them for as long as you had the ability active (for example, a max of six seconds as in Reach). What good would this do? Well, it would turn Armor-lock into a last-resort tool like I feel it should have been, not something to be spammed every 20 seconds. You'd fry your suit's hardware if you did that.

Also: Forerunner crap. Usable weapons and vehicles would be nice. Maybe some powerful stuff to toy around with in the Campaign. So far, all we've got to play with is the Sentinel Beam from 2 and 3. Maybe finally stick in the Forerunner Tank [http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Forerunner_Tank] level.

One last note: keep adding tools and stuff to Forge.

i'll admit that these are selfish and based around stuff that pisses me off about the changes and additions to halo over the years.

Armor lock should not protect you from stuck grenades. i've lost tons of kills because someone i stuck with a grenade went into armor lock. if you're stuck, armor lock should only contain the blast to yourself and protect your allies. you should still die. also, you should stay in first person view. no 360 degree panorama for you to plot what you'll do when you exit armor lock. just stare at the fucking ground.

sprint needs to last longer and take longer to recharge.

jetpacks could last longer, but be less precise and take longer to recharge.

hammers need to have their lunge ability either severely shortened or, preferably, removed altogether. the point of swords vs hammers was that the sword lunges, tracks, and is an instant kill with an extremely short area of effect while the hammer has a very large area of affect (splash damage) but lacks the lunge and tracking.

the booting system needs to be changed to account for genuine accidents. there is no prefect system, but a good way of doing it would be you get one warning for your first betrayal, and on your second it's up to the person betrayed. all of them should still count against your score, not your kill/death ratio, though.

remove reticule bloom for everything but precision weapons.

add odst's free roam.

matchmaking firefighting. not like it reach, but like how odst should have been. i hate the 15 minute time limit. i want to enter a lobby with 3 people i don't know and play steadily stronger foes until all of us run out of lives and die. (i haven't played reach in a few months. maybe this has been added. i don't know.)

using campaign skulls isn't as fun when you have them to begin with. i wanna look for them. also, extra settings to the blind skull would be cool. it would be interesting to play with a limited hud.

more new weapons.

if there is gonna be a bruteshot, let it be the halo 2 bruteshot.

bring back duel wielding needlers, but with a shorter range, slightly smaller blast radius, and maybe a smaller ammo reserve.

i absolutely love reach's melee system (provided it's the same it was the last time i played). if you have even the smallest amount of shield, melee damage should never bleed over into your health. if this is still the case, keep it. if it isn't, bring it back. NOW!

make assault rifles deal more damage, but have a much shorter range. assault rifles are always less useful and outclassed by Battle/Designated Marksman Rifles. this needs to be fixed.

You do realize that 343 Studios is mostly made up of Bungie employees who wanted to continue working on Halo, Right? No? Oh, then that's because you're an ignorant fool who just abandons a series because "Oh it's being done by someone different!" And? What if they make a better game? Are you going to refuse it still, even if it's better? No, you'll probably just contradict yourself and become a massive, flaming hypocrite.
Chill the fuck out. He even stated "in his humble opinion". I disagree with him, BIG time, as they were always planning a follow up (so it isn't "artificially lengthening" anything), but you're taking it way too seriously.

He shouldn't be bashing a game that we have no details on, just like you shouldn't be jumping in front of bullets to protect it.

The game might suck.

They wanted to just re-release Halo: CE with updated graphics and some additional lore. They stated that from the start, and they delivered 100%. I don't see how that should cause lack of faith when they've been working on Halo 4 for much longer. A lot of CEA was also done by a third party, if that helps at all. Also, hated what they did with the Flood. Made them look too... planty. But overall I think it was an amazing idea.
Well, Ok. Fine. As long as they're actually putting more effort into Halo 4.

That still doesn't really excuse Halo: CE Anniversary for me. It's not very impressive if you fulfill all your goals, just because your goals are set that low.

Personally think that it won't suck unless they let Karen Travis write the story, especially after glasslands. She claims she doesn't even play the games, and has "no bias", yet she has Dr. Halsey is made out as this evil scientist and don't even get me started on the way elites are depicted.

God knows what atrocities she would do if she got her grubby hands on the story of the actual halo games.

Yes I am paranoid of the idea of Karen Travis writing the story of any halo campaign in the reclaimer trilogy.

Whoah, someone has his calm-buttons loose. Well judging by your post-amount you aren't really familiar with the nice conversations we usually have around these parts. But I digress.

You do realize that I said ABSOLUTELY nothing about 343 Studios? You do realize that I didn't mention them in my post AT ALL? No? Can you please tell me where I implied that 343 Studios were to blame or that "It needs to be made by Bungie"? I might have missed it, I am Finnish, you see.

I also said that I was a fan up to the third game. Now let us see here: Bungie made Halo: Reach and Halo: ODST, two games I didn't care for anymore and 343 will make the future ones and Anniversary was their also. So please, PLEASE enlighten me: How is that me "FLAMING" or being "IGNORANT"? I would actually call you the one flaming and being an "ignorant fool".

I think of Halo as a trilogy and when "Finishing the fight" didn't finish the fight anymore, I stopped caring, since I believe that's where the money-milking started. Of course that is just a part of opinion. What you foul-mouthed me for was "Flaming 343", when in fact I never mentioned the whole company, "Complaining that it's made by a different company", which is a complaint I never made.

So thank you for calling me a "Flamer", "Ignorant fool" and a "hypocrite" with no reason. I guess it's the internet and all, but I am used to much more higher standards when it comes to The Escapist.

Can we wish for the game not the be made.... We dont need any more bland FPS's to come out of the game generator machine.

Halo 4 will most likely:

Lack any new thought, or ideas.
Still have a terrible story.
Still try to make you care about poeple (and fail).
Will detract from the Halo universe. (Quality wise).

Thanks a bunch for being civil with the situation. I guess posting that in a Halo-thread was signing my own death-certificate. Check my previous post for a little background. I have to admit that the first post I made didn't give enough reason. I don't hate the game, I believe it will be good, but I wont buy it out of principle.

God dammit enough with FPS hate. Yes a lot of FPS' suck. But Halo was always something different and unique in it's own right. It re-invented the genre and has original gameplay mechanics. Just because most shooters poorly follow it's template doesn't mean it isn't damn fine.

Dude... I've been reading/watching everything Halo since Halo 2... Glasslands has to be the best written book.

She doesn't present her as an evil scientist, she presents her as a scientist that committed terrible atrocities against children who is finally coming to terms with that fact. Mendez may kind of see her as one, but think about what he's been through. Not just one generation like Halsey, but multiple, constantly seeing his charges, both old and new that he's known since their childhood, dying on the front lines. He somewhat blames Halsey.

And the Sangheili are presented the same way they've always been presented. Honor based warriors. It's just that now they have no war to fight, and they need to relearn how to support themselves after probably well over 1000 years.. The fact that a war within themselves would start is only logical.

Although I wouldn't want her writing for the games (the constant view changing works in book form but would be atrocious in game form) I don't see why you have a such a huge problem with her o_O

(DISCLAIMER: I'm half way through the book, this is just my view of it so far, and please don't give me spoilers past when the team of humans is prepping for the attack on the Brute ship to get the engineer.)

You can say the exact same about any sequel with little info given.

*Halo reach had a pretty cool story, the only story I regard as lame is halo 3's (something felt lacking about the campaign story to me, it took way to long to get to the ark and well... I can't play it as much as I can other halo campaigns for some reason.) and Halo: 3 ODST's story was good, but the whole open world system felt broken because if you decide to start from a random level you must do all the levels before data hive which if you aren't careful can ruin your whole game.

What I really want of course, is a perfect, x-box live capable, remake of the halo 2 multiplayer though.
Until you realize Halo 2 was more broken than Reach and survives off nostalgia alone..
Oh I know it was broken. It was still more fun than anything else I've ever played online.

I want it to be a prequel or something. As far as I'm concerned, the master chief story is over. The Halo 3 Believe campaign, which was brilliant, is just going to make no sense if master chief turns up later the same year he supposedly died in.
