No, the graphics basically look like Halo: Reach, from what I've seen, and that game was frickin' beautiful. Not sure what makes you think it looks bad. And the feature to toggle back? That's a nostalgic novelty, and it'll be kind of cool to go back and see the difference between then and now on one of my, and many others', favorite games of all time. However, it's a feature. Meaning that the game has the updated graphics, and switching back is entirely optional, which means you are still getting an updated version of Halo. Having the option to make it exactly the same does not mean the game is exactly the same, because you don't have to turn that option on.
I'm sorry, but were this a cash cow move, it would be full-priced. But we know a few things. 1) It's not full-priced, meaning they understand that, while we love more Halo 1, paying full price for it is too much to ask. 2) 343 Industries has said that, were it not for the game's 10th anniversary, they would not have made this. Meaning the only reason this is even happening, despite how many fans want it, is because it has significance to this specific time. 3) Halo is being given to a new studio. Remaking the first game is a good test to make sure their skills are up to snuff to take on the continuation of one of the (rightfully) most loved shooter series of all time.
This is a good move all around. I think it's time we recognize that more of a popular series does not immediately mean milking the cash cow, and nostalgia is sometimes worth something. Me, I'm psyched to play through my all-time favorite shooter campaign with updated graphics and hopefully a fully-orchestrated soundtrack, because Halo has one of the greatest soundtracks ever to appear in anything.
