You can be addicted to anything. I could be addicted to a certain brand of cereal and when it was discontinued I could shoot up somebody. Doesn't mean its the cereals fault
Straying now from the topic. Aside from the mentally ill, if there were no weapons that points and shoots, I'm finding it hard for people to come and actually kill. Guns have distance. You don't need to see the pain you're causing to the defender.ultreos2 said:snip
Hahahaha, It's bad and im probably gonna get at least put on probation for this but I can see the kid going "mom? come one it's been 5 secounds get up!"mentor07825 said:Perhaps the kid thought that his parents had more then one life?
Perhaps not. Life is like a game. You're only given one life and the Konami Code doesn't work.
Dude with the state this kid was obviously in I really think even without a gun he would still try and kill his parents. But I guess without a gun his dad would be able to stop him easier, but he wouldn't just ***** and moan.PurpleRain said:I think you missed the point. Relaxed gun control makes it easier for people to kill out of agression. If there was no gun there, the kid probably would have bitched and complained and maybe hit and kicked a bit, not go on a shooting spree that led to this.theonlywildman said:Stricter gun control wont do anything. It was a 9mm, it was probobly only meant for self-protection. Gun control wont stop people from shooting other people, its not like some guy is going to appear and stop shootings. And even when guns are outlawed people will still find ways to kill.
I hear it all the time from America: Road rage, one drive shoots the other one dead.
Without guns you're left with means that make it harder to kill so easily. You can pull a knife but the swinging or stabbing is a lot harder then aiming and pulling a small trigger.
oh so true worst part is most mental illness are hereditarySamman said:If not videogames it would have been something else. People don't go batshit crazy because they play video games a lot. Either you're a nutcase or you're not.
Aren't judges supposed to be professionals or something? As in, they're not total dimwits?Judge said:"It's my firm belief that after a while the same physiological responses occur that occur in the ingestion of some drugs. And I believe that an addiction to these games can do the same thing," he said. "And I firmly believe that Daniel Petric had no idea, at the time he hatched this plot, that if he killed his parents, they would be dead forever."
I actually have to say that you're wrong here. If his parents hadn't allowed him to drink orange juice, and he'd tried to drink it, then killed his parents because they wouldn't let him, THEN you could sayAries_Split said:Did the kid drink orange juice?
Yes.
And he killed his parents?
Yes.
HOLY FUCK ORANGE JUICE CAUSED HIM TO KILL HIS PARENTS!!!!
Grow up.
Come on people.
To argue with ultreos2 I'd be way off the tracks. I'm going to just agree with Dooly95 though.Dooly95 said:Straying now from the topic. Unless you are mentally ill, I see no person enjoying that experience. A contorted expression for their own need. No sir, I believe that you see life in a horribly depressing view.
Perhaps I'm seeing it in a different, maybe even in a foolish light.
Knife you have to swing. Guns you pull a trigger. I'd hope his dad would beat him down before he could have the chance.Srkkl said:Dude with the state this kid was obviously in I really think even without a gun he would still try and kill his parents. Never mind... I thought we were talking in metaphors... Alcohol=bullets, car=gun, driver=shooter.squid5580 said:Are you serious? Did the person who made or sold the alchohol make him get behind the wheel? Did FORD Ceo run to the bar and put the keys in his hands and tell him you are ok to drive and go home. Hey why not while we are at it blame the victim for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. They didn't have to be infront of him afterall.Xvito said:No, actually it's more like blaming the people who made/sold the alcohol.squid5580 said:That is like blaming FORD everytime someone gets drunk and behind the wheel. Millions of people can drive sober and not have an accident but that 1 moron who gets drunk and kills someone is not the manufacturers fault. If you have a gun it should be locked up. You can't blame them because you are to damn stupid not to.Xvito said:You know what would be awesome?
If every time someone was shot, the people making/selling the guns would be held responsible...
Also, gun control is good for you.
But in my opinion Ford should get some of the blame as well.
Obviously the person who shot/drove/whatever should also get the blame...
It's a hell of a lot easier to kill someone with a gun... Strangulation is not that hard to defend against if you're two on one.squid5580 said:Then the headline would read Halo killer stabbed parents, or strangled them, or poisoned them. One thing the human race has been good at is figuring out how to kill each other.Xvito said:Yes, you are right about one thing (the people who didn't lock the lockbox are responsible), the person who fired the gun is also responsible... Oh wait, no it doesn't. The people who made the gun are not responsible. The people who left the gun in an unlocked lock box are responsible.
My point is that it should be illegal to make/sell guns.Internet Kraken said:If I buy some meat from the store, under cook the meat, and then get food poisoning, should I be able to blame the store?Xvito said:Yes, you are right about one thing (the people who didn't lock the lockbox are responsible), the person who fired the gun is also responsible... Of course not. I bought the product and id not use it properly. It's the same thing here. You can not blame this on the people who make the guns. They sold the gun to an adult. An adult whom they told to properly maintain the gun. The gun was now their responsibility. It's not their fault if the adult did not properly secure the gun. It's the adults fault.
But hey, go ahead and ignore this basic logic.
Um... I... Really?EnglishMuffin said:Just like the government sticking a big black dildo up your ass?Xvito said:Also, gun control is good for you.
It's good for your anus!
