Ok I've been reading the books and it dawned on me. In Halo your playing one of the bad guys. From what I can tell in the Halo Universe. There are four known factions Covenant, the Flood, United Earth Government, and the Rebels.

The Covenant are religious fanatics. Wiping out a race because it might mess with there beliefs.

The Flood a parasite they want to destroy and recreate the universe

The UEG are the earth team. GO EARTH!

Ok now the rebels. There just a group of people who split from earth. They don't seem to be pirates are any such thing. They just seem to be a group who want nothing to do with Earth and it's BS.

Now back to the UEG. There tyrants trying to force the rebels to conform and follow THERE rules. Even there Hero's the Spartans are a form of there evil. They are Kidnapped, abused, and brain washed children. Who?s only creation was to destroy the rebels. So far let count the things the USG has done to these outcast.

1. Kidnapped there leader and destroyed there home. Killing innocent Civilians along the way.

2. lead a covenant attack group who wiped out the vastly under armed rebels.

3. Stole a nuke when all the Rebel asked for in trade was medication to treat there sick. There answer send in the Spartans kill a lot of people and steal it.

Now this bring me to John-117 or Master Chief. He's not even the true evil. He's a mindless minion doing as he's told. Kind of take some of the fun out of the game.

So agree, disagree, Or think I'm an idiot? Oh and I did search.

You know humanities amorality is a clever theme put in and yes Masterchief does strike me as the kind of guy who does what he's told usually. But he does surprise me when he suddenly acts on initiative and especially when he is able to befriend his former enemies.

EDIT: by the way why did you say 'Halo Masterchief' as if there is a Masterchief who isn't associated with Halo? Did you think we wouldn't know who you are talking about?

It's weird, I never really thought about it until now, but Master Chief is an incredibly stupid and lame name.

And yes, he's just acts the part of the "good soldier" aka a pawn.

You make an interesting point. Now you mention it he (and Johnson in Contact Harvest) do seem to act like pretty brainless pawns. The rebels in CH do blow shit up though, it's not like they're totally innocent.

Also: please(!) learn the difference between "there", "their" and "they're".

they aren't really evil they jut do what they are told it's not like all real soldiers are evil just because they were ordered by their commanders to destroy an enemy who's armament is vastly inferior too their own just because the people you are attacking did not like your commanders. this would make 99.9999999999% of all soldiers "evil" or brainless pawns as you have it.

Conspiracy exists in the future...
Conspirizarz.
Furthermore, I find it weird why they only made a few spartans, should of made 600 or so.
Also..
There and They're.
They made a first group, the Spartan-I project under the codename ORION. This included Franklin Mendez and Sgt-Major Avery J. Johnson. Not 'true' Spartans but they did have quicker reflexes, sharper minds and all round better skills than any other soldier of the time. It's why Mendez was chosen to help train the Spartan-II's. The Spartan-II's were a second prototype project, and 150 were chosen out of which they picked the best 75 to undergo further training. 34 I think survived augmentation and about 25 of those were killed on Reach or in other circumstances, a few still survive with Catherine Halsey and Mendez in the Dyson Sphere (Ghosts of Onyx). Then Section 3 (of the ONI) created the top secret Spartan-III project, where they did have about 300 per company. Alpha Company were wiped out on a single suicide mission, Beta Company a few years later were wiped out save for two (Tom and Lucy, who was rendered mute by the trauma of seeing her friends die), and Gamma Company were wiped out in Ghosts of Onyx save two teams, one of whom are currently in cryo-storage. They're also in the Dyson Sphere.

So yeah, they did try the whole 'huge numbers' thing but it didn't work so well.

The Rebels are Pirates
The spartans had to be kidnapped for the greater good. If they hadn't done so then master chief would never have existed and the UNSC woulda been royally fucked in the battle against the covenant.

It's THEIR !
Not "there"!
WHY DO YOU TAKE EVERY POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO USE THE WORD "THERE" ?!
THEIR THEIR THEIR !!!

...

Ok, now that I've calmed down, you make some interesting points.
