I've pre-ordered it and I plan on going to the midnight release as well.

Holy crap it's another one.

OT: Why I'm not wasting money on this shit "game"

1. It was supposed to be DLC, then it wasn't goint to be a full price game, now it's 60 bucks, obvious waste of money.

2. The multiplayer brings absolutly nothing new accept a couple of maps, and they added stupid mode where you can play as Johnson.

3. Halo 3 was a huge dissapointment and I don't trust Bungie with my money anymore because nothing good has come of it.
1. Their story is that they realized that they wanted to make it bigger than they could as DLC, so decided to go all-out and make a full game. Whether or not it's true, however...

2. There is FireFight mode, which is different.

3.Agreed, unfortunately, but I'm willing to see it as a one-time misstep and give Bungie another chance.

Not now, however. I don't have the cash, but this game is on the list.

I've preordered the game and I'm giving it to my little brother for his birthday. As for my opinion, I am intrigued about not being Master Chief (one of the reasons I loved the second one was playing as the Arbiter), I certainly enjoyed the live action trailer and I do genuinely like the Halo games.

I could point out everything wrong here, but I won't. Nothing I can say will change your view.

I feel the opposite, and pre-ordered for Srg. Johnson. I plan on having endless fun in firefight, and am anxious to see how they did the campaign.
No you probably couldn't change my oppinions on facts. Also I really don't get the catch with Sgt. Johnson, you can't even tell your him, and it's not like he's gonna say funny black man quips or anything(well he might but I doubt it) all in all it'd be the the same if you were just the ODST skin.
Well, your opinion isn't "facts" as you don't have them all. You can tell your him, as his character skin of course, and him(and all other ODSTs) have "their" lines to tell each one apart.

The same for GoW 2 really. Sure, you can pick your character, but you're pretty much the same(of course, skill may vary from person to person). It's just for looks really.

Is it a "fact" that ODST is a DLC- length expansion being sold as a retail title? Really? Because you need to get some new internets. You're about a year out of date.
Is it a fact that Halo 3 was a disappointment? Sorry, that's opinion.
Is it a fact that the multipalyer brings nothing new? Well kind of - the actual multiplayer is exactly the Halo 3 multiplayer. The co-op firefight mode however is something completely else, which is comparable to the horde from from Gears 2 only in basic concept. The actual contrasts between gameplay are much more stark.

But why am I telling you all this? You're happy with your outdated alleged "facts", and I'm going to be too busy enjoying my ODST experience in a little under ten hours to care what anyone here is saying about it.

My response is a simple and resounding, "maybe later."

I don't think Halo is God's gift to earth, I don't think it's utter crap. Maybe once prices drop or a holiday rolls around and a few reviews I trust give it a tentative thumbs up I'll grab it, but I haven't preordered it, and i'm not saying I'll never buy it.

Halo's campaigns have never been anything impressive, being pretty much limited to go here, shoot, use this vehicle, or not, whatever and repeat.

Multi player would be my main motivation and with a variety other games taking up my time I can hold out till November 10th from my multi player bloodletting

1. They can realize all they want but Halo 3 wasn't supposed to only take up to 4 hours on the I think 8 mission campaign why should I believe they they're gonna make this any longer or put more effort into it regardless on weather it was DLC first or not?

2. That's the mode I was talking about and though it looks decent it's really the only hook this game has in my oppinion.

3. Halo 3 and Wars were enough of a misstep for me to never give them my well deserved green ever again.

Is it me or was the games original title Halo Recon much better? Certainly easier to say in casual conversation.

I'm not buying it because although I love Halo, I'm feeling just a little burned out on it.

I'll wait for a few years, then pick up Reach and ODST and probably the DVD for the anime in one fell swoop when I'm bored some weekend.

But for the time being, unless they release some new books, I think I'm gonna give that particular universe a rest.

I know that it's been a while sence they announced that they are making it "longer" but I really think the only extra effort they put into this game was the firefight, and just like the Halo 3 campaign (if you can even call it that) it's going to be a huge dissapointment, and in all honesty if a game is gonna even have a single player then they should put some effort into it instead of putting all the good stuff in multi-player.

Yeah, but ODST fits what the game is about more than Recon. I don't think you're scouting too much.

Really? Bungie didn't make Halo Wars, Ensemble Studios did. They had no part in it at all, other than creating the universe it's set in. You're forming an opinon with outdated and incorrect 'facts'.

I don't know about ODST, but I'm definitely giving Halo: OWST a shot.

I haven't pre-ordered it, but I'm getting it soon. Call me an idiot, but I'm going to give Bungie the benefit of the doubt, I actually really enjoyed Halo 3, sure, it wasn't as cool as combat evolved, nor did it give me the same feeling, but it was still really fun.

Also, I live for noir...and ODST has it in the shed-load.

No, mostly because I played Halo 3 and was very underwhelmed. The gameplay lacked viscerality and the sound effects especially lacked oomph. It was all very pew pew pew and boring to me. There was no kick, no punch to the firefights. Just...strafe, pewpewpew.

I originally Preordered it because I think halo is a pretty good game and I wanted the maps for machinima reasons, but my friend (who isn't even a halo fan) has a modded xbox and got it early, and he was telling me about how amazing it was and a lot about it and it sounded awesome so now im psyched for it.

I'll probably get it at some point. Definitely not until I've gotten an Xbox 360 and played Halo 3, though.
