If the former, no. Doesn't have the mainstream appeal MW has. Neither does it have an exceptionally greedy publisher the freshness the series needs (judge judge judge here).

In both. I do think it'll knock MW off the XBOX live top spot for a while though.

It's taking an age to download. Still. That and for some reaosn it won't let me back out of the download to go do something else in the meantime is rather annoying.

Now my download has jumped from 1 to 99% in the blink of an eye and stuck there for the last 20 mins. I wonder is it even downloading at all?

Lesson learned: Never keep an evening free and plan to play a game with your buddies for the whole night when it's the first day.

Curious. I walked away from the 360 for a couple of minutes and it somehow jumped from around 43% to 92%. It's at 99% now so I'm about to find out if it's worked....

Edit: Beta has downloaded fine, but the servers are down at the moment. Gonna have to put that test run on hold, I guess

I'll wager it hasn't.

The Bungie forums are flooded with complaints about this exact problem, it flies up to 99% but isn't actually making any progress at all.

And the people who did manage to download it can't get into games.

It's a fail of Stimulus Package proportions!

I'm loving the Magnum. And I also managed to use the Grenade Launcher properly once or twice.

Never was a fan of the magnum, but the DMR is so much fun.

Well, the download was long and screwed up, but after that I had no problems (until I tried to start it up again, I'll put that at the end).

I'm liking most of it, it feels like Halo should and the Armor abilities are amazingly balanced. I've personally been enjoying armor lock and invis, and jetpack is okay I guess. Oh, and I'm annoyed at the controls, as there are at least 5 things that need to be done regularly but only 4 buttons within easy reach (pun not intended, but a good one nonetheless).

But yeah, I went back on and it refuses to give me experience or change my armor.

Well I only managed to get one game of capture the flag in - and maybe it was because I hate that game-mode but I didn't really like it. The controls, once I got used to them, were pretty good, and the new armour skill-things were surprisingly well-balanced. I suppose I'll have to see how I feel about it once I get a couple of games of slayer in.

I was wondering how you were faring with it when I saw you in my friends list playing it.

I got to play a few games before the servers went down. It was pretty fun altho it took me a few tries to figure out the controls.

New guns are pretty interesting and new abilities are pretty cool, Althogh Armorlock is starting to annoy me a lot lol.

The one thing i had a problem with so far is that it isn't exactly clear what your supposed to do in some of the game modes.

Other then that it was a lot of fun

Got about 7 games in with my friend before we both went off , but from what I played I really enjoyed it. The new armour abilitys are pretty cool ( not exactly a fan of the armour lock though , expecially the blast it makes when it fully charges ). Only problem i've been having is that everyone keeps repeatedly voting for 1 flag CTF on Roundhouse..

Yeah, I hated my first game, and it was also one flag. After that I got in some classic slayer and enjoyed it much more.
