The "What the hell!" moments are to be expected, due to lag or just plain luck/ridiculous skill. The outmatching is still annoying when a 4 on 4 becomes a 4 on 3, 2, and 1. When I was playing Invasion Slayer in the Beta, the Banshees dominated. They raised their teams by a good 10 kills.Teh Ty said:So far, not really. There's the "How th hell did that happen?!?" Moment every here and there, but the game equaled out pretty well. The only time it's "Unfair" is when the other team outmatched you. Though, the vehicles can be a bit too cheap at times.Siuki said:That's good, considering with the CoD Campaign you wouldn't even have to stop while playing. Any unfair player patterns in gameplay?(i.e. too much grenade spam, jetpackers, everyone on your team leaving during the middle of the match ARG)Teh Ty said:I was excited, but I didn;t follow much of the hype.
From a person who has played mostly multiplayer so far, I'm on 3 missions into the campaign, and I think it's satisfactory so far.
I liked ODST too, given the number of badmouthing it got for being too short. It really was, only several hours(4-5 in my book. Few is 2-3, and Many is 6-9. Consecutive "many"s stack.) It was an immersive experience for me and I enjoyed the change of pace. Firefight was definitely a plus.DCMan said:I honestly think this thread is doing good. it is letting people vent, share their thoughts and actually bringing up good points.
I liked ODST personally, I like how it tries something new to the Halo series, an open world revolved around mission areas.
Banshees are still powerful, but they made them easier to steal, and they can;t take as much damage.Siuki said:The "What the hell!" moments are to be expected, due to lag or just plain luck/ridiculous skill. Ah, good. A Plasma Launcher couldn't take it out of the air and the Spartan Laser was taken and still in someone's dead(or soon to be) hands. The Plasma Launcher is a great anti-personnel weapon though. Not enough kick to topple a Wart or devastate a Wraith/Scorpion, sadly.Teh Ty said:Banshees are still powerful, but they made them easier to steal, and they can;t take as much damage.Siuki said:The "What the hell!" moments are to be expected, due to lag or just plain luck/ridiculous skill. God damn you, now that you quoted me it is ingrained in my brain and I will never forget.DCMan said:so your response about using a spoiler box had to contain my entire post so even when i fixed it with a spoiler box it still showed?Littlee300 said:God damn you, use a spoiler box.

It does a very good job of telling the events that led up to Halo: Combat Evolved's story, though.
Kat's death. Seriously, every member of Noble team has their own epic 'last stand' (except for Jun, who just mysteriously vanishes from canon). Jorge dies by blowing up a Covenant Supercarrier AKA one big-ass alien ship. In the game's own words, he died thinking he'd just saved his home planet.
Carter dies by crashing his Pelican into a Scarab tank, just to give you and Emile the chance to make it to the Pillar of Autumn.
Emile himself dies fighting off 2 Elites (succesfully, except for the whole 'dying' part) while trying to buy the Pillar a little more time to escape.
Then you yourself, after the credits have rolled, are given one last mission: Survive. Survive for as long as you can. Eventually even Noble Six meets his/her end, but he/she does it in the manliest way possible: Fighting off a whole mess of aliens, while heavily wounded and without wearing his trusty helmet. It eventually takes three Elites with energy swords to even subdue him/her.
And what does Kat get? Shot in the back of the head with a sniper rifle, midway through a cutscene. Just... what the hell?
The campaign was the longest? It felt so short. Like i beat it in an afternoon.Peteron said:You realize this game had the longest campaign out of any Halo? Honestly, complain about THEM, not this one if you want short campaigns. Just pay attention, there is a reason for everything. Plus, many bought this game for the multiplayer, seeing as the new Forge World is impressive. If you ask me this game seems much more epic game and story-wise than other Halos. So, no, actually, I completely disagree with literally everything you just typed.
i dont believe that its the longest, Halo 1 and 3 may be bigger. In Halo 3 you had 2 huge levels, The Covenant and the other one in the desert.Peteron said:You realize this game had the longest campaign out of any Halo? Just for the record, you CAN polish a turd, as proven by myth busters.heavymedicombo said:when it comes to the halo series sequels, a quote comes to mind. "you can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter"
