People say the storywas predictable but the thing is everyone knew how it was going to end before it came out, you couldn't change the fact the Reach HAD TO fall. It added a sense of inpending doom which built the atmosphere great. Also as for the deaths being predictable bullshit were they I mean one was (Jorges) but the others were quite out of the blue. I felt a real attachment to these characters as they did some extremly noble (excuse the pun) before they died even Emile who seemed like a dick I was sadened by his death. As a big fan of the halo games (fan not a fanboy, yes there is difference) I felt it was fitting departure from the series. So let down? No. Greatest game ever? No. But it comes pretty danm close.

The campaign is fun enough, but the multi-player is terrible. Clearly they sampled from Call of Duty, but without putting forth enough effort to make anything actually work. The perks are crap, and just about every gun is shit now, with people having more health than they should. All-in-all, huge let down. 6/10.

oh, I'm sorry I didn't realise that I was supposed to know all this shit. OH YES! I will fight the halo games. I will pour crap on to them until I die.
Maybe you would have realised if you'd actually read my entire post. I clearly only compared Reach to the other Halo games. You should learn to read an entire post before you go screaming "Fanboy".
And about knowing "all this shit", how could you not realise I was a girl? VanityGIRL should have be a major indicator that I have no penis.

These threads are a goddamn dime-a-dozen.

Either people like it way to much, or people hate it way to much. It was a great game back in the CE days, and has used the same formula since then. I still find it fun, but it is no way groundbreaking, nor did I think it was going to be.

Biggest letdown for Halo was when Bungie was bought by Microsoft. Before that us Mac users were actually going to get the game first...instead we got it last.

Guys who hate Halo, hate it secretly. Nobody gives ahsit that you think it's pure crap. At this point saying that halo is the worst game ever is just as cliche as loving it.

Hey, hey, I don't really like Halo that much (played it when my housemate wasn't) and so far I've found it to be really, really, really damn good. To me, at least, it was a big suprise.

This thread is stupid.

You have an opinion, I have an opinion we all have opinions.

Congratu-fucking-lations.

I had a longer rant that I was mulling over but this shall suffice.

I actually loved the campaign. I expected it to be short, it was actually a little longer than I expected. I felt that in the time it had it managed to make me feel for Noble Team both showing the "super soldier" we've all come to expect after spending so long with Master Chief and then yanking the rug out from under your feet as each one of them go down, forcing you to remember that augmented as they may be, they're still human and they're not going to make it.

I do have two questions for Bungie. What happened to Noble 3 Jun since you don't see him again after getting your final job to do and also what happens with Noble 6. It's an obvious conclusion to draw, but at the same time, you never actually watch him die. He spends that whole time fighting and when the swords come in he starts beating the shit out of them. You have to wonder "Did he escape somehow?" considering they let it end on a blank page and it ends the way it began with Six's helmet with the visor smashed. Presumably the body was probably either taken away or destroyed.

I have no idea what I really loved about it since it is really short and, as usual, paled against the hype. Maybe since I was never impressed with Halo all together that I could forgive Reach for not living up to the hype this time. It's not like Halo was ever a game changer to me up to this point, so the fact it turned out better than I had originally expected was great for me.

I will tell you =D

Six does die, he gets stabbed by the energy sword, not easily seen but you can tell. and Jun is unclear, he either got killed while protecting the Doctor or is in stasis somewhere, we will probably never know.

Are you saying that the Reach campaign is short and unsatisfying?

Well, at least it's good to know some things never change.

Whats with all these threads?

And for the last god damn time, Halo: Reach is in no way bad or disapointing, Halo 3 has hyped to the fucking moon, this one was hyped to the atmosphere, the only disapointing feature is no matchmaking for custom games.....Thats it.

Anyone who walked into Reach expecting the game to match the hype...well I think they grew up a little after they actually played it.
Or they threw a brief fit and happily rejoined the herd, learning nothing.

Hype is a tool designed to play to the emotions; artificially inflating the perceived value of a product. It's False Advertising in practice, but done in such a way that it cannot legally be called such.

Yet, as human beings we never learn; the end product is too tempting.

The online is tons of times better than Halo 3's, although the campaign is rather "eh". It does a very good job of telling the events that led up to Halo: Combat Evolved's story, though.
This. The story didn't really feel rushed to me, but when I was finished, I thought: "Huh. Only five hours?" Not that much of a big deal, I still had fun. What did piss me off was...

Kat's death. Seriously, every member of Noble team has their own epic 'last stand' (except for Jun, who just mysteriously vanishes from canon). Jorge dies by blowing up a Covenant Supercarrier AKA one big-ass alien ship. In the game's own words, he died thinking he'd just saved his home planet.
Carter dies by crashing his Pelican into a Scarab tank, just to give you and Emile the chance to make it to the Pillar of Autumn.
Emile himself dies fighting off 2 Elites (succesfully, except for the whole 'dying' part) while trying to buy the Pillar a little more time to escape.
Then you yourself, after the credits have rolled, are given one last mission: Survive. Survive for as long as you can. Eventually even Noble Six meets his/her end, but he/she does it in the manliest way possible: Fighting off a whole mess of aliens, while heavily wounded and without wearing his trusty helmet. It eventually takes three Elites with energy swords to even subdue him/her.
And what does Kat get? Shot in the back of the head with a sniper rifle, midway through a cutscene. Just... what the hell?

Spoiler in reply to previous post:
Yeah Kat's death is kinda weak, she does all this bad ass stuff and gets sniped from behind from a random ship just happening to be there with a sniper looking into a hole.

Oh, okay then. Sorry to hear that.

However, none of the people here have punched you. And you can't justify insulting people because at your school you get punched if you say you don't like Halo, in fact if you are like a lot of other people who dislike Halo that I frequently run into then the problem wasn't just saying you don't like Halo, you probably said it in a very mean way or at least in a way that could be perceived as mean. That might not justify people punching you but truth be told you could always just not say anything on the subject at all.

And like I said before, a few people bashing you in high school does not account for the current 200 million people playing the game and you certainly can't use that fact as justification to be rude and obnoxious to people who have otherwise done nothing to you.

Well, I would come up with a argument, but this suits the situation so much, as your avatar has used it.

CRY SOME MORE!

Yep, I think so too. I just figured what with Halo: Reach out now and all that I had to update my Elite persona. So this is essentially the new Vrex for a new generation.

Short? No, it took me a good 10 hours to beat it on Heroic and now I'm playing through it on Legendary and I'm quite surprised by your claim that it may be the biggest let down of them all, in my opinion that was ODST. Reach, in my opinion, is probably the best Halo since the original.

I didn't expect the game to wow me and beat me over the head with it's pure awesomeness. So all in all, it's doing a good job. On normal the covenant are challenging, the jackles leaping away, the Brutes living up to their names and the grunts reacting to the situation. All in all the campaign is probably one of the best in the series. I find it like the original, the best in the series. I love the health bar and shield, the hud is strong and I just enjoy it the most out of the 3 I've played (1, 3 and Reach)
