Well, I got the story. Even enjoyed it, at parts.
Not exactly the best out there, but mildly entertaining.

And that is precisely not at all what his post was about.Rusty Bucket said:Exactly, that's it. But the atmoshpere they create with the music, environment design etc. is amazing.
No, but if you'd read the conversation I was having with another user (which that sentence was attached to), then you might understand.Wayneguard said:And that is precisely not at all what his post was about.Rusty Bucket said:Exactly, that's it. Quite, I agree. Unlike, say... Metal Gear Solid 4, which did what Bungie could have easily done if they'd not put their thinking caps on, and tried to make sense of an increasingly bonkers storyline and forget to put a game in.MalevolentJim said:It having no story proved to make the game (to me) more enjoyable than at least Halo 3.The game series is actually terrible at storytelling. At least with this one they didn't bother with the story part, and made the campaign more fun.
Okay, this is something I'm seeing a lot of, so I might as well throw in my 2 cents now. You are both correct and wrong, but mostly wrong.Cyan. said:snip
I don't see what of that was wrong. Console shooters aren't known for there epic storytelling or indepth worlds with deeply fleshed out character, like you find in other genres. It's natural that the storylines aren't going to be as well thought out or even as good as other genres.Korten12 said:Really? You needed to post THAT? Just leave please... No one wants to go there.
And suddenly, the fact that so many former cast-members of "Firefly" have lent their voices to this game just made it THAT much more awesome.Irridium said:"Who are these rebels and what do they rebel against": The Rebels or insurrectionists are just that, rebels. Not much is mentioned about them from the games though. They're rebelling against the UNSC since they believe the outer-most planets should be independent from them.
You should write MIA. No Spartan has ever been declared KIA, even when the body was recovered. The reasoning is that the public sees the Spartan IIs as invincible, and the millitary wants them to keep thinking that to keep morale up.demoman_chaos said:I was gonna write KIA next on the poster that lists all the main characters, but I doubt many would know it means Killed In Action.
They fight the covenant who are the equivilant to the Christians on a holy crusade. Despite the player kicking ass, the humans lose and all the characters die. The last one dies to save the Master Chef (he is a great cook, and not a leader of an Indian tribe like the Cherokee).
Because they had yet to rise to power during reach.zHellas said:Yeah, though at first I thought the Elites looked pretty silly.Rusty Bucket said:Exactly, that's it. But the atmoshpere they create with the music, environment design etc. is amazing.zHellas said:The story is basically: Here's a bunch of Spartans that fought during the Fall of Reach. They'll all die. But they'll die awesomely.Rusty Bucket said:Yes it does. It's incredibly simple, bu it's meant to be. What the game focuses on instead is atmosphere, and it accomplishes that very well. Much better than most games, actually.
You can't say it doesn't have a story. That's quite clearly stupid. And wrong.
Also, why didn't they make the Brutes like they were in Halo 2(the first ever time I met them. They also scared the shit out of me a few times in that game)?
