Devil May Cry 4 on Dante Must Die. Street Fighter 4 against Zangief. Oh, and Blazblue, playing as Carl versus V-13.

Deamons' Souls for sure. That game is really hard and damn frustrating. Yet I still cant hate it cuz of that, its pretty much fair to me.

Man, Guitar Hero players get it EASY with that Dragonforce song.
THIS is a hard song.

Thankfully, it's still fun to play even after 27 straight failures.

I dunno why everyone says Ikaruga is hard.
I played it with my last girlfriend and beat it on the third try.
I think once you get the flip black flip white down, it's a cakewalk.

On topic, I'd have to say...Monster Hunter.
Once you get the tactics down pat, you see what you did wrong.

I wanna be the guy, it's not really fair though. Even after the cheap kills you don't see coming, a lot of the timing of the jumps is really difficult as well. It's the only game that really gives me nerd rage as well, it's so frustrating at points.

N. It's a free platformer made in flash, for those who don't know, and it's difficult enough to test one's sanity. You have no attacks, everything kills you in one hit, and you have a time limit. Just the other day I succeeded in beating an entire set of levels, one of the greatest achievements in my gaming life.
N+ on xbla. that shit is INSANE. i will never, ever, in my entire life beat even half of that game
We got to test the XBLA version for a fair while at work, days passed by really fast >.>

Makes for great times.

I haven't played many difficult games, but the hardest one that I've actually beaten, was Batman: Arkahm Asylum on Hard difficulty.

I Wanna Be the Guy. And I finished it, too.
The difficulty in that game is mostly unfair stuff though :p
I got quite far (i think), it's just the Ghosts n' Goblins bit that stumped me.

Matt Thorsons games like Jumper 2 and Untitled are all really challenging if anyone's played those.
Untitled made itself out to be a cuddly friendly exploration RPG, but if you're trying to get 100% prepare to chew your own face off in the process. The bosses are insane on anything higher than easy mode.

Devil May Cry 4. On the harder difficulties, all enemies are so strong it's insane.

But then you just switch to easy and breeze through the whole thing.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors... Game is about 48 levels (I think)...Level 1=Easy... Level 2=Easy... Level 3=Easy as long as you avoid the Chucky dolls... Level 4= Absolute Hell... Every level from there on=Worse Than Hell...

I have owned this game for most of my life and NEVER beaten it...There is a password system but it does not save items...And going into the last boss you need every uber item the game gives you...

The thing is it has a charm that keeps you coming back...It mocks all the old horror movies and even itself...It knows it starts to get repetitive and tells you that...Its also got a killer soundtrack!

Ikaruga. It's the most brutal vertical shooter i've every played
This is true, however its difficulty makes every small victory that much sweeter.

The final world of Bomberman 64 is oddly satisfying. It's the only part of the game where they expect you to know how to bombjump on normal difficulty (unless you're going for all custom pieces) and it's hard as hell sometimes. But damn it's fun.
I never, ever, ever beat that sphinx boss underwater (Boulban or something?) that shit was hard! Only game I've never finished due to difficulty.

Bayonetta is giving me headaches trying to beat it on normal, but I know I need to dodge better, so not really the game's fault.
Bayonetta is fair?

Honestly I found the game easy but cheap as hell where certain enemies with no (programed)skills would take half your health barely brushing up against you, and you can pound them all night and day and nothing happens.

But then again Dante's Inferno wins that award in the h&s cheapness award with unnecessary quick time events and a whole bunch of other nonsensical stuff.

Titan Quest on anything but normal. once you get to Typhon and 4th act, you´ll know what i mean. but its really unfair (Cerberus is impossible and Charon rapes you), so it doesnt count.

i´d probably say WoW raids actually. if you don´t know what your doing and you don´t brought the neccesary consumables, dont know boss or trash tactics, your fucked, but if you do, you can bring it to a good level of difficulty.

Dante´s Inferno was definitely cheap on Hellish or Infernal (i actually did on Hellish, but Infernal is absolutely ridicoulous). basic enemies 3-shotting a fully-upgraded me, faster enemies and Lucifer was just plain stupid.
