I gave up smoking, only did it for about a year and before it was legal, I quit drinking for a few years, but the only thing I ever had the Slightest difficulty giving up was coffee, I was drinking 2.5 litres a day (think a big coke bottle filled to the very top) with cream and sugar.

Procrastination. Yes, that totally counts, shut up.

Still not out of the woods though.

I've never had an addiction problem past simple habit. The hardest would have been when I stopped smoking pot. Every time I sat down to game or watch a movie I felt like sparking one. It was a ritualistic and social thing, but I've never physically fiended for anything I've quit.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I guess wow, I had a real easy time quitting it cold turkey since blizz fucked with me by dangling a job infront of my nose then pulling it away and I vowed to never give them money again but I still occasionally have dreams about that fucken game and for the longest time when I would see screens of it I would get massively nostalgic. Probably the hardest time was when a new expansion would come out and I would be getting bombarded with the fucken ads and fucken vids and fucken pictures of that damn game.

Once I realized it wasn't that good, kicking the habbit was easy.

Alcohol. Was both mentally and physically painful, as well as emotionally draining and a big dent in morale.

Was worth it. It's also the only good thing to come from a shitty relationship I had.

Crack.

Just kidding.

As generic as it is, I recently quit smoking. I'm really proud of myself. My eye-opening moment was when I was playing soccer (or football, depending) with some friends and I started wheezing after awhile. One of my buddies asked "One too many Camels?" And I realized I had to quit. My lungs would thank me. Now they do every day! You won't get me, cancer. :D

I'd say Cannabis. But I didn't really "overcome" that one, it just got to the point where it was just time to leave it behind. So really, despite my plans to "try" and "quit" smoking it, it sort of happened of its own accord. I think that tends to be the way with these things for me though. I binge for a while, whether it's a week, a month, a year, more, and then the spark dies and I can move on.

But yeah, feels great no longer being dependant on it to feel normal, although I still can't sleep worth a damn, not that I ever could, and it's the only thing that ever worked at getting me to sleep with any consistency.

Team Fortress 2.

No, I'm dead serious.

I played it for 6 hours every day in 2 YEARS. It was an awful addiction. But it was such a great game! I still play it every now and then, but not as much as I used to. I must've had at least 80 hours+ clocked into every class.

Come to think of it, I'm actually glad I got over it.

World of Warcraft. Not trying to troll, but I spent far too much time playing the game and not enough on, well, life. I still hold that the day I quit WoW was one of the best days of my life.
