A couple of weeks ago (roughly about that anyway) I remember posting in a thread to do with easiest achievement or trophy to unlock, and after just unlocking a particularly irritating one on The Witcher 2 just now, I decided to create the antithesis to that previous thread.

What is/are the hardest, or most annoying, achievements/trophies that you've unlocked yourself or seen?

By the way, that irritating achievement I got was the "Poker!" achievement, in which you have to get 5 of a kind in dice poker. What is irritating about it that it is purely luck-based with the added difficulty of if you look like having a decent hope of getting it after the first roll, the opponent usually resigns.

Anything related to RNG, really. As for non-RNG ones, I suppose it was one time I did Herald of the Titans with my raid group in WoW (Beat Algalon10 with appropriate gear, so nothing that drops from Ulduar25 or later), without a shaman. Was a close call with a shaman, without one it was a downright brutal, sneeze and you lose thing. That is, of course, still in 3.1 patch, way before the talent tree revamp and the 1 hour time limit on Algalon removal that was 4.0. Yogg0 25man, in 3.1, also counts.

Now for non-MMO examples, hmmm. I think once I finally beat the stranger's dream with all 10 idols invoked, that will be a damn impressive one. 4 is the most I managed so far...

Getting up to Kradgief in IWBTG, but then I gave up. That was as much of a self-flagellation as I could have handled.

It may have been just considered a challenge but I think there was an update or a patch that made it into a trophy. It's called getting the Big Boss Emblem in MGS 4. If Chapter 1 and 2, with the aid of play-by-play insane walkthrough of someone being able to do it didn't make me think twice, then the Eva Motorcycle Chase sealed the deal.

Oh but I finished it. Rage-inducing, but I considered my analyses and patience to be my key assets and as such have succeeded. It wasn't worth the victory though. To have passed that luck-based gauntlet of a chase scene, I had to have memorized every 1 soldier out of 5-6 that we sped past that kept killing me with stray bullets. Yes, it took me that many tries to have experimented upon the idea of trying to STUN which soldier was the lucky one that kept hitting me with strays.

Most annoying

Gears of War 2 - Seriously 2.0 achievement for getting 100,000 kills

Why is that annoying?Well because it's probably the most ridiculously grindy, time consuming achievement I've encountered.I beat the campaign 3 times and put around 150 hrs into the vs multiplayer and horde modes and I got nowhere near 100,000 kills

Hands down the "There Can Be Only One..." Achievement for Total War: Shogun 2. It requires you to be number one on the multiplayer leaderboard, and only one person has ever got it so far.

Some of the overall achievements in TF2, like Tartan Spartan, Chief of Staff, or Pyromancer, because you have to inflict absurd amounts of damage (or heal as Medic) and the game will randomly reset your progress back to zero!

The Seriously achievements have always been hard, but I never went for any of them so I can't say they are annoying. Halo Reache's "backstab the guy before you die from fall damage" annoyed the hell out of me. And pretty much any chievo related to collectibles; I'm thinking GTA, Assassins Creed etc.

For me, it was the trophy for getting to round 5 of Five Finger Fillet in Rage. I spent so much time on that one frustrating challenge...

There's a really annoying one in Forza 4. It's not hard, it's just stupid. You have to do a race using Kinect. Doing the race isn't hard since the game does almost all of the work for you given how little control you have with Kinect, so it's basically an achievement for wasting £120. Go fuck yourself MS.

The MGS2 trophy for getting all of the Dogtags, which requires you to replay the game 5/6 times on every difficulty MINIMUM in order to get them, and you will miss some, as some guards are in very hard to find areas and their placement can be contextual to where you are in the story and where you entered the room from. Very frustrating.

Potentially MGS4 too, where there is a trophy for getting all iPod tracks, which doesn't sound too bad, not at all, actually, but the problem is is that one track requires you to get all the end game emblems, which makes a MINIMUM of 7 playthroughs, one of which HAS to be under 5 hours with no alerts, no kills, no deaths, no recovery items used and no special equipment, which all must be done in one playthrough on the hardest difficulty. That trophy is easily the most evil one I have ever seen.

Calumon: Getting people to play my LittleBIGPlanet levels... people won't play them! : (

Tactical Challenger in Vanquish...... ugh

Also Explorer in Metro 2033. No matter how many times I try for it and how careful I am to go everywhere and investigate everything I've still never got it. Rather galling when some people got it on their first playthrough at weird times. I suspect it is a bit glitchy.

I didn't have much trouble at all getting that achievement, I don't usually try to hard for those things, if I get them, I get them. If I don't than I don't stress over it.

Something that helps with Poker in the Witcher 2 though, if you bet the minimum (Usually 5) you're opponent typically doesn't resign, so it makes getting five of a kind easier. I always bet the maximum in fist fighting though, that mini game is such an easy way to get extra cash.

Most Annoying/Frustrating for me personally is, "Are those the blue ones." from Payday: The Heist

Mainly because the guards have random patterns, you get spotted allot thus failing it instantly because guards come around tons of the blind corners. It just gets aggravating, closest I got was 1 gem left and a guard rounded a blind corner, spotted me and the cases sealed, I had to empty 4 clips into the guard to vent my frustration.

There are a few that stick out in my mind as annoying...

Prince of Persia - the one where you have to wait.
GTA 4 - Kill all the pigeons
Shogun 2 - Be number 1 on the leaderboards...seriously...how?

How do you get a triple kill in Red Dead Redemption without boosting with friends? Seriously, how is that possible? There is no way and no reason 3 enemy players bunch up next to each other long enough for either a dynamite stick to explode or a cannon to hit them.

By the way, I'm still looking to get that and the liars and cheats multiplayer gambling achievements. If anyone wants to help, hit me up.

I was looking at the score attack on Persona 4 arena earlier and it seems nuts (its meant to be) but there is a trophy for completing it with all characters I havent got the game yet as its not out here but unless some exploits are found out I cant see anymore than a handful of people worldwide ever getting that trophy.

Heres a quick vid showing how quick the comp can kill you from full health also the computer characters are buffed up something ridiculous and its 13 straight fights best of 3 no saves no continues if you lose its right back to the start.

Also didnt SF IV have an achievement worth 0 points for being ranked no.1 in the world?

Easily "You can be my wingman anytime" for BF3. It requires you to finish Going Hunting with a perfect run. I take no damage and complete all the tasks but I still don't get it.

Well, I'm sure there's a few I can name that would compete for hardest.

Seven Day Survivor, Dead Rising. Screw you game, I do not have the fourteen solid hours to waste.

Every achievement pertaining to multiplayer rank in games with dead multiplayer. Example, Not Bad For a Human, AVP 2010.

That one Halo 3 one that required you to get something like a triple kill with the sword in a muliplayer match. The stars had to freaking align juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust right for ANYONE to get that.

*Closes eyes and randomly picks an achievement from Final Fantasy XI*

Level 75 Scholar:
Achieved level 75 as a scholar.

That will do.

As much as I enjoyed that game, I still never got a single achievement for it. Granted I never played it hardcore, and sort of just messed around a lot of the time soloing, (back when soloing was next to useless), but still they could have given me like a nice easy achievement. :)
