The first level of The Return of Matt Hazard. The music playing in the Japanese steakhouse turned a frantic bloodbath into a soothing stress relieving session.

Well, when there are no goblins or daemonic creatures kicking your shins, Oblivion is truly calming and beautiful.

Though moments like that are rare.

Also, have people already forgot the works of Tale of Tales?
Only played The Path. And while I love it, it doesn't exactly secrete a reposeful ambience, so to speak...

FLOWER!!!

If ever there was a game that was designed to make you feel calm and at peace, it is Flower.

Red Faction: Guerilla. There's just something so relaxing about watching a building explode into a giant fireball after you fire a thermobaric rocket into it.

Mass Effect, just sat there listening to the music on the start screen. it always calms me down
That music is weirdly calming.
Besides the start screen music in Mass Effect, the Mustafar level in Battlefront 2. Watching the countdown to victory while looking over a sea of lava is very calming. The Enclave radio station in fallout 3 calms me. Actually its just the presidents voice that calms me. Also, the citadeand Vermire locations were calming. Thats really all that comes to mind but there are probably ore games that calm me.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Nothings as calming as runninga through the feilds, collecting ingredients.

Or just heading to town, trading goods, making money
Agreed, the atmosphere and setting of Oblivion was extremely relaxing, the lakes and forests were very soothing. I liked just venturing out into the wilderness for a relaxing hunt with my bow, then just going back to towns and selling whatever I found, and saving up for items I really wanted.

Empire Total War is another one that I find very calming.

Flying about the continents managing my Empire and colonies, making treaties, hatching plots, keeping my populace happy, then interspersed with the occasional battle for a bit of excitement as I watch my well drilled line infantry cut down who ever stands before them :D

Capitalism II (or any game in the same genre) when I've forced my last competitor into bankruptcy, when I can look around the landscape and say "Truly, I have conquered the world!" Same feeling once the last battle ends in victory for me in a Total War game.

Mining in EVE Online does that for me. Just the feeling of sitting in an asteroid belt slowly raking in the ISK, just another person making their own way in the vast universe.

I would often have this sort of experience while playing the new Prince of Persia game, especially while wandering around in an area after I had cleansed it of corruption. The sun shines, birds sing, green grass sways in the breeze, and beautiful, calm music plays.

Halo, just makes me feel happy as I have many a happy memory on that game. As does Portal and Otogi: Myth of Demons. For a while I even just wandered around Oblivion's world just jumping everywhere with my Master level acrobatics skill.
Of course if I want to blow off steam I play Gears of War 2 multiplayer with Bots nad pretend everyone I am murdering are people I wish to kill in real life.

Another vote for Braid. Also, someone mentioned ToT, and I was searching for someone to say, "The Path". Their other stuff has too many poor design choices, but The Path is very relaxing in a deeply meditative kind of way.

...Oh god, I have the main theme song stuck in my head...now it will never leave.
