Most games calm me down i find it just a great form of escaping. But to be specific Ratchet and Clank with all it's colors and comedy. Just about the only games that are stressful to me are fighting games and sports games. Ahhhhh Sports Games stress me out bad.
I would often have this sort of experience while playing the new Prince of Persia game, especially while wandering around in an area after I had cleansed it of corruption. The sun shines, birds sing, green grass sways in the breeze, and beautiful, calm music plays.
I hated those bits, I thought my eyes would fall out from sheer boredom.
I especially hated that whirlwind that would pick you up and teleport you to the ass end of the map so you had to go and sail ANOTHER ten minutes back to where you were.

Oblivion and Morrowind are a couple of nice destinations for me. I like Oblivion for the nature, and Morrowind for the unusual sights.
One that I remember from back in 2001-2 is firing up GTA3 and just driving around. If you weren't around at that time, it's hard to explain the feeling of total freedom that one got from that game.
2. The other was a moment in Fable 2, when you go to meet Hammer for the first time.
Wandering through the woods with the sun rays gleaming through the trees, all the while hearing Hammer singing a gorgeous folk song made me feel all warm inside.
I loved that bit in the game. She really does have a lovely singing voice.
Besides that bit, I would have to say:
- All the bits in Mass Effect when my Shep and her relationship with Kaidan grew. (makes you feel all warm & fuzzy inside...until your idiot brothers come barreling in screaming about sex.)
- In Ghostbusters:The Video Game, when Ray shows genuine care for you, the Rookie. One of the most heartwarming of these times was when
near the end of the last level, after spending most of your time alone in the cemetery trying to get you fellow Ghostbusters in with you, and when you finally do, Ray says to the others "I should go with the Rook. No one should have to walk alone in a place like this."
- And last for now, in the beginning of Half Life 2:Episode 1 when you're stuck underneath the rubble and Dog finds you was just so sweet. It gets more heartwarming when Alyx sees that Dog found you and rushes forward to give you a tight hug.
Yes actually. For me, long helicopter rides in ArmA 2 are practically the epitome of peaceful and calm. The steady sound of the chopper's rotors in the background combined with the beautiful scenery rolling past and the gentle dips and curves of the helicopter...damn it's great.
Also, I recall the music on the campaign map of Rome: Total War made for a very relaxing experience.
Also, cruising the oceans in Battlestations: Pacific or Silent Hunter 4.

This is why sometimes it's not a bad idea to use a walkthrough... if I had known that it would have saved me a lot of annoyance. I'm going to back and finish WW soon, it deserves it because the rest of the game is so much fun.

Haha man, I found that game so oppresive and excruciating to play... I know that's how it was meant to be but holy shit I was a nervous wreck after I finally finished it.
That Piggy guy, my god that was some messed up shit.
Plus the shooty bits were bastard hard. I was more relieved than satisfied when I beat it!

Yeah, I only heard of it through a walkthrough as well. All you need to do is go into a cyclone and hit the bloke on the cloud (He's the god of cyclones) inside it with three arrows. He then gets rid of the cyclones and teaches you how to use them to teleport to certain places. It's probably the melody I use most often in the game.
