You're okay sticking up for a white dude who is the victim of prejudice.

The problem is the sad little reactionary pro-white dude movement, which more often than not is actually about white dudes angry their cosy society of preferential treatment at the expense of everyone else is being dismantled.

I can't say enough how much my heart fails to bleed when such people complain they can't call blacks n*****s any more, or whine when their ex-wives get custody of the children after they spent seven years of marriage completely ignoring their family and having affairs.

I'm a white, straight male, and really, that seems to be some kind of neon sign saying "it's okay to discriminate this guy". It always struck me as pretty damn weak that it's okay for a black man to insult me based on my skin-colour - like, say, for example, assuming my ancestors were somehow responsible for African slavery in America even though my family is Swedish and Prussian, respectively - or for a woman to blurt some horrendously idiotic sexist comments like the ever-classic "Men can't multi-task", while if I respond in kind I'm suddenly "racist" or "insensetive".

As a white male, no not really. Although, I get shit all the time for having long hair. People always call me a "fag" or whatever. I just brush it off now since no one can think of anything better to say to me.

At least try to come up with a new insult. They just stick to the same name over and over. Its getting old.

Being a white American male, there's a lot for them to say, so yeah.
And I have most certainly seen it around me.
Fixed.

This site is a just one tiny prime example of racism vs Americans, amirite?

Being a Gypsy, yes. In fact I will boldly say that I've faced more discrimination than almost everyone else here. Whereas people may get in trouble for calling Blacks, Asians, or whatever a name, they don't get in trouble for doing the same to Gypsies.

you forgot fat people.
Yeah, but who cares?
They're just fat people.

...But seriously, you can still get jumped on for making fun of fat people.
Nobody sticks up for a white dude, and if you do, you're a fucking racist.
i see plenty of people around here willing to stick up for white people (and i include myself in that number.) in fact i think most people would; it's just that it's so rarely visible in modern society.

To be honest man, those two stories just sound like ignorant morons thinking Germany is this backwards place... Not really racism! But i can see how it would offend! "Nazi in stealth-mode" i actually found that quite funny- don't quite understand why anyone would call you that lol.

Most discrimination i've ever gotten:

*Brazilian chick and my mexican friend were talking about how dumb English speaking people are and also how lazy we all were.
Brazilian chick - "Its like thier all stupider then us..."
Me - "Please... if you are going to insult my language and people... do it in standard English. Thanks."

*Xbox:Live just getting called tea and crumpets... like all the time!

So as you can tell... i don't really get discrimated against. Sexism all the time, but i'm a guy- so naturally i don't care.

When I was 12 years old I hated gays and cannibles, but as I've grown up I realized that such hatred was unfounded. Especially if two guys are stuck on a desert Island together, after a long enough amount of time one guys ass is gonna start looking good to the other guy, for whatever reason.

But seriously I try to be as open minded as possible, and I am a better person for it today. I now completely support gay rights, although I admit that alot of that comes from watching episodes of Will and Grace - in a good way mind you.

I still think cannibalism is gruesome but if I'm hungry enough... ya. And I know that cannibalism is practiced in some cultures so I have to respect that as well.

Edit: Sorry, I didnt read the full title of the thread, I thought it was "Were you ever racist/sexist/ discriminate and so forth". Well, I'm happy to say that no one has verbally attacked me for any of the above items, although I still had to deal with alot of asshole. Havent had any of that in colledge yet. I guess you lose all the jerks and bullies in High School.

yeah i have undergone quite a lot of racism myself. I am a white male, now in my twenties. But when I was growing up in Belgium, I was a foreigner to that country.

My mom is British and my dad is American, i was born in Spain and have been in Belgium since the age of 6 or so...

At that time Belgians were very anti-foreigners, even white people from different countries like Germany, France and England.

Once I was 12 I had to learn muay thai kickboxing (and a few others, like Jujitsu and aikido) so that I would no longer have to fight in school every time i was bullied (basically once I learnt it I had the self confidence needed to avoid fights, as I knew I did not need to fight anymore as I always knew the outcome of the fight, thus me standing there fine, not even a bruise and them standing there or laying on the ground crying with bloody noses and such :p, as a result I never had to fight again in my life and the few fights I have had I just let them try to hurt me all the while just laughing and insulting them, if they started to actually hurt me i would just slap them with my hand open as to not hurt them too much).

I have probably only had 4 or 6 fights in my entire life and have not had a fight since I was 17. This does not include organised fights in a ring of course :p

But yeah basically I have dealt with racism most of my youth since I was 6 up until i was 16. After which i changed schools from a public Belgian shcool to a special European school in Belgium which has people from all over the place in it (polish, americans, british, finnish, swedish, russians, spanish, germans, french, italians, etc...) so racism was non existent at that school, you had poor people, rich people.

Funny enough, the students and my class mates at that school thought they had a lot of issues with racism and bullying and stuff. But i can tell you compared to what I and most others in the Belgian public schools had to deal with, the stuff that went on in the European school was a joke at best...

So yeah racism happens to everyone, everywhere. What pisses me off is to see all these blacks in America going to court with racism cases and getting these big settlements for money and the things they often go to court for is nothing compared to what i dealt with in my youth at the belgian schools.

People tend to think a lot that colored people and blacks are the sole targets for racism, trust me when i say whites can also get racism, even if you lived in belgium your entire life and are poor or whatever or even rich you could be a target for racism.

In my case it was because i was a foreigner and thus had a strange accent and at the time did not speak perfect dutch, ironically i scored higher in highschool than most of the people who were racist against me in dutch exams and such...

I'm an English white male. So, yes...I have...I'm just not supposed to admit it. I went to a very mixed school, a school where it was acceptable to say things like "yow, white boy" to get my attention...usually so someone could ridicule me to my face to look cool infront of their friends. I shit you not, I had to talk to the head teacher about racial sensetivity after I did the following 2 things.
- fairly tackled someone whilst playing basketball.
- told a girl her hair looked nice.

Despite being white I have often recieved racial abuse in the form of words like '******' (again, I have had to remind these people who they are trying to insult), 'Jew' (despite not being even remotely Jewish) and many regarding my British/Irish origins (namely from Americans).

Sexism, on the other hand, I have been on the recieving end of quite a lot. It's almost always harmless jokes centred around being stereotypically manly (considering how the girl who often makes these jokes is a) someone I hold in high esteem and b) very much a quiet and passive person I know that no actual insult or harm is meant).

And don't get me started on the number of times I've been called out for being a smartarse...

White, male, atheist.

"Oh noes, he's going to tell us how stupid religion is."
No really thats the best reaction I can get when I say I'm Atheist in public. The worst is when they look at me like I'm some sort of monster.

There is racism on white males though. We can't dance, we can't jump, we can't call you racial slurs but you can call us "crackers" anytime you want. It's bullshit.

I've been diagnosed as Autistic (ASD in fact), and have received discrimination for years, being beaten up at school (or people attempting to, and failing miserably), refused for jobs and people generally not wanting to associate with me. I have found that most people think that such a diagnosis makes me instantaneously stupid, I get straight A's and am currently the best speller in my schooling district. In grade 8, a teacher refused to believe that I was a special education unit student, as I was "too smart for the SEU", it took me 6 months to convince her, and afterwards she began talking down to me. This sort of thing is what makes my life hell, intellect is a negative when you see the world through the mind of an autistic person. I have however managed to mostly master social skills, and have developed mature relationships with people, and am now at the point that my autism is almost non-evident.

I'm white, but my name, to some people, "sounds black." On several occasions, when people met me after just hearing my name, the first thing out of their mouths was, "I thought you were black."

I was told by someone who worked at an agency where I once applied for a job that, although I was probably the best qualified applicant for the job, my application was kicked out because the boss, a blatant bigot, thought I was black. So, there's that.

I have experienced racial prejudice. Growing up around many young individuals from the projects let me know quite thoroughly that white people aren't the only people capable of racial discrimination. Not by a long shot.
