There can only be a perfect game if nobody complains about it. Which will never happen. Look Yahtzee he complains about something in games he reviews.
Except Prince of persia and psychonauts.
LOL that true.

Tetris is the only perfection, all else is subjectivity.
Quoted for truth, Tetris has no flaws or glitches of any kind. Many people cite Tetris DS as the best version as it includes 6 other modes. The problem is that some of the modes are less than perfect. Does that mean that Tetris DS, a game with more to offer than any other port of Tetris, is worse than Tetris on it's own?
Yes, that's perfectly reasonable. Like I said, perfection is about doing what you set out to do as well as it could have been done. Tetris, as it was originally, is beyond improvement without changing or expanding what it is at its core. If the DS version did more, but hamfisted what it did, its completely reasonable to say that DS was both imperfect and a better game than the original.

Think of it this way: You may have a perfect penny, and a dented Ferrari, most people would say the Ferrari is imperfect but preferable.

Well, the perfect and pure tetris is still contained within tetris DS, but I see what you're getting at.

No.

Games are made by humans, and as flawed and imperfect beings, we will never be able to create a perfect game. Or film, or book, or artwork or piece of music or any other example of a creatuve outlet for that matter.

There was once a gaming site (not The Escapist) that put forward the preposterous notion that Super Mario Galaxy was a perfect game. Utter nonsense. If it's a game made by people, there will be something wrong with it. End of story.

Edit: Ninja'ed by The Real Sandman. But at least that shows I do not stand alone in my sentiments.

The adjective "perfect" is hard to define with a game. Some of the best gaming experiences have been with very flawed games. Like Xcom. Top of the heap, but had some annoying bugs and interface. Temple of Elemental Evil, VERY buggy and glitchy but really complex and satisfying. Mass Effect, brilliant story and RPG but had some texture popping and such. And of course it's always subjective.

as awesome as it was, it wasn't perfect. there were a number of ways it could be improved and any game that has reason for improvement cannot be perfect. OoT is one of my all time favorite games but i would not describe it as perfect. that being said, any game that you or i consider to be perfect, there will be those that disagree.
