Has there ever been a perfect game?

Since humans are imperfect beings, and they are the ones who make the games, there will never be a "perfect" game. For every person that sees a game as being perfect, there will be someone else who can find a flaw with it, and yet another who can't do anything but hate on it. There are some games I found perfect that some friends of mine thought were either "just okay" or highly overrated. On that note, I will list some games that I believe deserve to be called "perfect" even though I know some people won't think so.

Ocarina of Time

Chrono Trigger

Portal

Left 4 Dead 2

BioShock

Mass Effect (planning to pre-order the second one to get the Terminus Armor and Blackstorm) :D

Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2

StarCraft

The only games on this list most of my friends agree on are Chrono Trigger, Portal, StarCraft, and Kingdom Hearts. The rest get VERY mixed opinions from my friends. This just shows that while a game may get better reviews than any other game on the market, and some people will absolutely ADORE a game, there are those who will find some flaw with it that they can't stop talking about. If a perfect game existed, everyone in the world would think so.

Short answer n... Sorry, I almost said something cliche then.

No, I don't think there will ever be a perfect game.

No because everyone likes different kinds of games. Even Resident Evil 4 had its flaws. There's no way to make a perfect game.

Fallout 1 and 2 came close for me.
What about Fallout 3?
I love fallout 3 too but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. Thinking about it I'm probably blinded by nostalgia.
I didn't play any of the fallouts until after 3, because i thought i was fantastic.
I found the first two fallout's for a fiver when i was about 14 I didn't know what to expect and it just blew me away. Fallout 3 just didn't give me the same feeling.

I thought Fallout 3 for me was one of the biggest shocks of last 08 i thought it was just amazing.

NO OF COURSE NOT if it had been made everyone would be playing it as it would be perfect and all other games would have to be not as good
also if the perfect game was made it would destroy the industry as what would be the point of buying any other game?

It was good just not as good as I'd hoped. I'm glad you loved it. :)

No. The closest thing is Baldur's Gate II, and that fails 'cause there's only one single-class thief NPC in the game, and well, we all know what happens to him. That always pissed me off. Aside from that...it's pretty much there.

But seriously...no. Never gonna happen. As long as opinion exists, nothing will ever be perfect. And that's not just for games, but everything in existence.

The closest game to my 'perfect game' was FFX *raises anti-FF-fan-boy shield*

I'm not alone!!! *does happy dance*
If only the game didn't have that damn sphere grid I would have loved it.

OT: I don't care what anyone says as a good RPG to start oyu off in the genre FF7 is good. MGS is also very good. Guild Wars was before they released Nightfall. CoD2 is also up there with CoD4 near it.

The only absolute perfect game I have EVER played was Perfect Dark. It is so perfect that it was not only fun for its time, it still is. It took the near-perfect Goldeneye 64 and improved on it to bring the game to 100%.
