I've come to the conclusion, that there isn't enough time or energy in this world for hate. That won't stop me from hating, however. I just think that a lot of people don't let things go and keep all those feelings bottled up let it run their lives. I have a lot of reasons to hate people, but the wisest person I know once said: "if you have the capacity to hate, then you most certainly have the awareness to forgive." That's always stuck with me.

What do you think? This is usually a pretty mellow forum. What are your opinions on hate and loathing.

I hate Hitler, I hate everything Hitler did, and that among many reasons is a deterrent of me killing jews.

Im all for lovey doby world peace, but its not like I am going to pretend that I am going to try to phase out a natural human emotion.

To stop people quoting me, the first example was a simplification, I understand positive things did happen under hitler. I was trying to get the point across that hate can be used as a motivator.

I think people need to distinguish between hate and dislike.

Yeah, thats all I have to say without muddling up my point.

didn't get accepted to school, but he wasn't without talent

Hates an intregal part of our personalities, we shouldn't delve too deep into it, (and be haters [a term I loath]) but we shouldn't totally deny it.

I've yet to actually hate anyone. Even Hitler, even Stalin. I am disgusted/pissed off by what people do, but I don't hate anybody.

I only really hate 2 things anymore.

Stupidity. People who are willfully ignorant.

And going off that, Religion.

Nothing imo, is worse for humanity. Religion and superstition.
FUCKING hate it.

Some people would say that religious comment is ignorant.

I think the OPs conclusion is one that most people will come to at some point in their life. It's tough to go against your id all the time and in any non-utopian society it's nearly impossible to make up for the pleasure lost just hoping everyone else has straight morals.

I would rather hate the art school that created Hitler. That painting is beautiful and if the art school got off their high horse and let Hitler in, never would have joined the army, became a politician, and caused genocide. I HATE ART SCHOOL!

Sure, take the easy way out. Someone you never knew who is already globally despised. He only deters you from killing jews? Not, lets say, any sort of genocide? Hate is unnecessary. Anger is natural and you can't help feelings of disgust or outrage. But hate (what I would define as an intense anger plus obsession) is pointless. I'm sure you don't spend all day thinking about your hatred of Hitler, so do you really hate him?

Sorry, as a side note, Hitler is a seriously over used excuse/insult and he wasn't even the worst of the homicidal maniacs that have been around in the last 100 years. But that really isn't here nor there.

I hate those who hate...

Side note: Does that mean I hate myself?

Without the definition of hate in our lives there can be no antonym to that definition which is L O V E.

I think the issue isn't whether you hate something or not. I think the real question is what are you going to do about it. The clues to a person's character is how they react to such emotions and situations. Do they walk away from it? Do they tackle it head on? Do they try to reach some empass or closure? Do they use their brain or their fist? Do they forgive themself?

I will say though that when I was much younger I used to know how to keep a grudge. I used to hate a lot of people and for the most part I had a good reason to. Then one day I looked in the mirror and realised that keeping too many grudges is just not healthy. I've buried a lot of my hate and fears and I'd like to think I'm a better man now because of it.

I really hate all this negativity towards hate in general. This whole backlash against bullying and what not, but that just comes from me naturally wanting to go against what the someone tells me to do. Hate, Anger, Fear, Insecurity are still valid emotions.

Ironically, it was his failure to get into art school that drove him to hate jews (they were the ones that judge his art)

Yeah, buy you don't hate it. There are some things Hitler did that you are apathetic towards. Anyways he did more things, like the famous "Hitler firetruck"

I hate no one.
I don't have the time, or energy to hate people. This has led me to completely understand even the most "evil" individual.
