Don't be suprised, there are a lot of people through out south east asia who use that as a cover for being racist themselves. Had a similar experience with a couple of new migrants who came to town from the region and responded to hello with "Leave racist white man!"

I haven't, but I'm sure some people have thought it before, but refrained from saying so out loud. I tend to say racist and stereotypical things in public, but only around friends for comedy purposes.

Example: Friend asks me "What's your favorite food?" I answer "Chicken". He asks "Why?" I respond with "Look at my skin color." or girlfriend's father (Caucasian) asks me "Would you like some watermelon?" I say "Sure. Wait did you ask that because I'm black?" Both times me and the other people in the conversation laughed.

But I know there have to be some people within earshot who pick up what I say I think I am being racist.

Yep. To be fair I called a guy a ******. In retrospect that wasn't cool but I just really hated the guy who constantly gave me shit in school and wanted to hurt him.

Still a dick move on my part.

I can't recall every being called racist before, though. Not seriously, anyway. I've had several black friends, a few Asian friends, even friends from way down in Brazil. I'm typically an "everybody's friend" kind of guy. I'd think it hard to call someone that regularly chilled with black and Asian folk, racist. =p
You know, when people say things like that I always have to wonder if they are racist. Because if you think hanging out with black and Asian people is some indicator you're not... well then you don't really have a good grasp of what racism is. "I have an X best friend" is practically a joke indicating someone's trying too hard to defend themselves from such accusations imo.
And if you think I was trying to use my friends as an indicator...then you don't really have any grasp of what I said. If I was racist(secretly or otherwise), I wouldn't have very many friends, now would I? Also, I said I've never actually been called racist in any serious fashion. Why would I feel the need to use my friends as an indicator to defend myself against an accusation I'd never received? I kinda wouldn't.

I can remember being accused of racism on this very site, funnily enough. There was a thread about affirmative action/positive discrimination/whatever you want to call it, and most of the discussion was perfectly reasonable, but this one guy just ranted at everyone who was opposed to it like they'd declared ardent admiration for the KKK. I hadn't actually been involved in the thread, but he pissed me off enough to make me call him out on it, and rather than even try to offer some kind of defence he just accused me of racism. Luckily the thread got locked before anyone said something mod-worthy.

No, never.

Been accused of hating men, but that's usually just anti-feminist grumping.
And been accused of being a homophobe, but that was a misunderstanding from someone who overheard a conversation I was having with my (lesbian) friend about her (female) stalker. The person overhearing thought I was only saying she was a stalker because she was a lesbian, instead of because she wouldn't leave my friend alone.

Cool story, bro.

Print up a bunch of business cards with "A HYPOCRIT IS YOU" on them and carry a stack of them with you whereever you go, you'll find all sorts of uses for them (well, one use but in many different and hilarious contexts).

You're forgetting the bit where I never said you were accused of it. You made it up, not me. You don't need to be accused, you just used it to say you weren't in this thread. You're pretty defensive about this 'not a racist' bad logic you've got.
You didn't have to say it. It's implied pretty well. What I'm defensive about is you trying to tell me "I don't have a good grasp on what racism is." I know full well what racism is. I'll thank you not to make and attack on my intelligence with baseless opinions.

I can't say that I have, not seriously, anyway. I probably should have at this point, my sense of humour is way dark.

Just how am I proving I have little clue on what racism is, when I simply state that I've got several friends that are not of the same race as me? I wasn't using them as a shield against futile accusations from people that mean little to nothing to me and can simply be ignored. And people naturally get defensive when you attack their intelligence with an opinion. For me to defend myself does not in any way prove I have no understand of what racism is.

No, but if I lived in the US I probably would've. Most cries of "Racism!" come from there, it seems.
It happens a lot in the UK too, or at least some people seem to feel it is.
The UK has become very careful in it's handling of race, Labour championed multiculturalism as a positive thing which in some respects it is. As long as it's not shoved down my throat it's Ok. Unfortunately some people went a bit over the top and formed the EDL which is just as bad as the hate preachers of other minorities here.

A half Asian friend once claimed that my Xbox was racist because I kept owning him at halo. Other than that, no, actually. I seem to manage to avoid saying racist things, which is odd as my big mouth always lets out other offensive stuff when I'm not paying attention.

Yes.
All the time.
Partly because I spend a reasonable amount of time (lets be honest, quite and unreasonable amount of time, but who's counting?) on the internet...

But also because my friends and I have this sort of in-joke where we basically call each other racist for making a comment about disliking anything.

Hilarious, I know.
